I loved everything about the hotel. The location, quality of the facilities and the staff at the pool, reception, engineers and the cleaning staff were all lovely and very cheery.

Hemme in the Frontyard restaurant ruined our experience at the restaurant. We stayed at the hotel for 11 nights and his attitude was miserable when serving a group of 7 women. He refused to serve us. We had just got back from trick or treating and were in high spirits and having a bit of friendly banter with some other British guests. The manager was called to serve us despite it being Happy Hour at 10pm. He totally ruined the night for us and going forward he was miserable the whole time of our stay. Personally I wouldn’t have him working at the restaurant as he should t be in a front of house role with such a bad attitude.

The facilities were great and comfortable. Everything was clean, and the staff were amazing. It was very convenient to have the shuttle to and from Universal Studios and City Walk. I loved the fact that the hotel had different activities per day for guests. The staff helped with our luggage when we arrived and left. Thank you for that!

The reason I couldn't give it a 10/10 is because of the parking fee. I paid $260 for 6 nights. I don't agree that guests staying in the hotel should have to pay for parking. It should be included. There is nowhere else to park as an alternative. Also, the food at The Front Yard restaurant was just OK. I don't know if it's what we ordered, but it lacked flavor. Not what I was expecting for the price we paid to have dinner there.

Very good location and a great bonus that there’s a free shuttle to Universal Studios. It’s also just a short drive to the Hollywood Bowl. However, if you’re planning to spend more time around Venice Beach, the location isn’t quite as ideal. All in all, a very nice property with great rooms that offer every comfort. Unfortunately, the fridges don’t have a freezer compartment, but the lady at the reception was very helpful and sorted it out for us.

As criticism I would mention the movies at the pool. I know it’s just a nice little bonus, but unfortunately, we didn’t get much out of it. The reason: the sound system is so poor that you can hardly hear anything. That’s probably also due to the screaming children who weren’t interested in the films at all and — despite the rules — kept jumping into the pool, splashing so much that we ended up getting wet even though we just wanted to watch the movie. Since it’s just a free extra, one can certainly overlook it. But then again, it might be better to just skip it altogether — we were probably the only ones over three evenings who even wanted to watch the films.

The staff, service and everything that was exceptional. We were there for a wedding and it was beautiful... It was a heat record breaking day but besides that, it was PERFECT! The food, band and wedding venue area, were wonderful. The staff said the owners are very good to them and that a lot of them have been there for decades. Living in California is difficult financially but they all seemed happy with their jobs and in general. All in all we were so glad we went to our nephew's wedding. The bride's parents helped by setting the tone for the wedding weekend. They were lovely. Great trip, great fun at a great place.

The property has an amazing vibe. The pool was so refreshing, the dive in movies was a hit with the kids. Rooms very clean and the beds could possibly be the most comfortable hotel beds we have ever slept on. Staff all very friendly, warm and welcoming The trolley to universal was a handy addition especially travelling with young children who can’t go in Ubers (no car seats) The hop on hop off bus also picks up from outside hotel we only managed to do the yellow loop. Traffic is crazy so pick the one loop you are interested in cause it’s doubtful you can do 2 (if you want to get off and explore) If you want to stay close to universal would highly recommend the garland.

The location. Went for a walk down the street to get some lunch and groceries walking back to the hotel (on the road the hotel is on and within 4 mins from the hotel walked past a man riding his bike with a machete around his neck. Our driver from our airport transfer also told us not to walk around after dark.

We had a wonderful stay at The Garland. The location was brilliant, the grounds were beautifully presented with well considered touches. The room was tidy, with comfortable beds and pillows. It had a great bathroom, fridge and setup. Whilst the room was ever so slightly compact for a family of 2 adults and 2 children the table & balcony gave us social spaces and the bathroom was well sized. The location and ambiance were wonderful. The trolley was very convenient, and we had a view of Hogsmeade in the distance. Whilst close to the motorway the room was really sound proofed. We had great help from the staff on one matter when my daughter was unwell. Our checkout process was less desirable regarding resolution of a dining charge issue between the restaurant and the hotel but this aside we absolutely adored our stay and will definitely be back one day!

The Hotel was a great find. The first impression, based on seeing the outside of the hotel in the pictures, doesn’t do service to just how charming and well appointed the hotel is. The lobby, bar and pool have a great hangout vibe and the rooms are super comfortable. The whole place has been updated from top to bottom and has a very special feel. The staff were great, and very helpful. The restaurant was super stylish and offered a good variety of foods for our family from pool side Nachos and sandwiches to a really tasty entrees like roasted half chicken in a cacciatore sauce. The hotel is not cheep but you get good value for money, and we will remember our time there fondly. FYI, the hotel offers a free shuttle to Universal studios, which made it a super easy to get there and back. Only a five minute drive.

I loved how I was met with such warmth and friendliness the minute I arrived at the front door of the hotel! Everyone was so welcoming, from Don at the Valet service to David, Ami and Akkasithat the front desk to Scott at the Front Yard Bar and Restaurant. I was also so taken by the amount of detail put into every corner of the hotel with the amazing art work and design. No corner was spared of masterful artwork and clever retro design, thanks to the hotels amazing manager and head of interior design, Branco Ramos ! The rooms were comfortable and clean and the location of the hotel was perfect for my visit, which included a stop at the infamous jazz club The Baked Potato, less than a mile away from the hotel. And of course, a highlight for me was also being able to walk to The Brady Bunch House, just a few minutes away ! This hotel will now become a favorite of mine whenever I return to Los Angeles. I will recommend this to all my friends as well. Thank you all for being so kind and welcoming to me ! I hope to see you all soon !

This is not a huge complaint but I did hear traffic from the freeway from my room. It became "white noise" after awhile and I sense not all rooms can hear this traffic; it was just where my room was position.

The hotel is awesome - really great communal spaces such as the pool and restaurants. The rooms were a great size and well equipped. It is a great location and is easy to get to. Great free shuttle to Universal

The staff were ok. They did not seem interested or genuine in their interactions with us. Just seemed more important to hang out with each other and be super cool. I mean, they were all pretty cool, but on a number of occasions, we just wanted to order something or get something, and we were the last thing on their minds. This happened in the pool bar and restaurant a couple of times. Maybe it was us - who knows
