I found the breakfast monotonous because of my food allergies, so the only cooked item I could eat was the hard and luke warm tomatoes.. The staff were most helpful, and did warm up croissants for us, but whoever buys these ought to change the supplier because even freshly cooked they weren't nice, as they were probably made with marge and not butter.

Its the same old story about the bedroom lighting. The bedside lights gave very little light as they were too high up for one to be able to read. The general lighting was disgusting, so I ended up sitting on the one and only chair in the bathroom, so that I could complete a cross stitch card for my son. I even sat in the bathroom to read as the poor lighting caused me to have a headache. On our next visit I think that we will bring our own bedside lights. How do people who are on courses in the hotel , study, with this dull lighting?

The facilities were a bit above other more basic chain hotels and were very clean and comfortable. Good value for money and an excellent breakfast. Also super dog friendly which we were looking for as we needed to travel with her. The staff were all excellent, friendly and helpful at all times. Nice little extra was the dog welcome pack. Only negative we would have liked a bath as well as a shower but this may have been available on request. Also the charge for the dog was more than expected, however we were issued with a drinks voucher to compensate for this. All in all very happy and would return again.

We liked the staff, hotel breakfast, bed, shower. The room was okay, but we were traveling with our cat. There is an additional cost for bringing a pet, which wasn't stated on Booking. (We would like to see Booking start adding the cost of bringing a pet, which could help people make a decision on where to stay.) The cost here is 30 pounds, which is a little more expensive than most other places we have stayed. The price is probably because they do have a 'dog friendly' gift that they provide for pets - but our cat isn't to big on rawhide chew sticks or tennis balls. We were given an 'animal friendly' room, which was expected, but the room had clearly been a 'dog friendly' room - and our cat knew it! A deodorizing cleaner had been used in the room, and wasn't really pleasant smelling. It was clean, however, and the shower was a good one. The bed was comfortable and we did sleep well. They provide coffee and tea in the room, and you can refill the supplies as needed. There's a vending machine in the hotel if coffee and tea isn't your thing. The breakfast was a good, standard buffet, with hot and cold selections. There is plenty of free customer parking available. The reception staff was especially friendly and helpful.

We didn't like the smell of the disinfectant/deodorizer they used in the 'pet friendly' room. It seemed like it was designed to mask odors, but created one itself.

Breakfast was quite good but I would have liked flavoured yoghurt and grapefruit segments. Location was good for RIAT and visiting friends in Gloucester.

I almost caught my hand when closing toilet door several times. I thought prices for evening meals was expensive and dining area was too much like a canteen. I did join the rewards club on a previous visit but although I had booked within time I think that I have lost my points even though I used the same email address.

I had an accident and fell in the bathroom it was simply that not faulty equipment or anything other than a simple slip and fall I managed to hit my shin shoulder and other limbs for stop it was 6:00 a.m. on Christmas morning and the staff on reception was exceptionally helpful she was a lovely lady who helped get me an ice pack and made me a cup of tea to help get the swelling down on my leg. I failed to get her name but wanted to thank her for her kind and thoughtful treatment after my accident.

I could not see the contact details for reception in the room so had to go in person and request an ice pack.

Breakfast was very good. There was a wide selection to choose from. Location was perfect for us, near proximity to the venue where we were going. Booking in was easy likewise booking out.

Due to volume of guests at certain times, it gets rather overcrowded, resulting in lack of space to sit down in dining room for breakfast. Not a big deal we took ours back to our room. Might not work for those with children. I was very cautious regarding the shower floor when it got slippery from the soap. Plus water runs down from the base of the hand basin taps onto the floor.

Good location, not so close to the main road so barely if any traffic noise, rooms were tidy, clean and comfortable beds, and though staff interaction was minimal they were very friendly and approachable. We asked for an extra blanket and they were more than happy to provide. Ample parking as well and plenty of tea and coffee available if you happen to run out during your stay.

We are aware this is an express hotel so breakfast was quite basic, not so much a criticism but just so other potential guests are aware - it was fine for us as we booked two nights to attend a wedding. Also, it took some time for the hot water in our shower to come on. We think it would be handy if the showers came with bath mats as little one was slipping and sliding! He enjoyed it, but others might not! No issues we can highlight other than that, did have a nice stay.

It's a Holliday Inn hotel so it meets with the standards expected from hotels in the same chain. The location is easily accessible from the M5 and a good entry for Gloucester.

Just some minor gripes which did not ruin the experience but could be better. The room lighting distribution is a bit awkward as you can either have the full room lighting or just the bedside lamps which left the room too dark. It felt like there was a medium level missing. At breakfast, the scrambled eggs were a bit too salty but overall it has a varied choice of food and drinks both hot and cold. The parking seems very small for a hotel of that size.

The bed was comfy!

The room was too warm, it could benefit from air conditioning as the whole hotel overall with its lower ceilings in the corridors can make it feel stuffy and hot. There was a fan available but it wasn't enough. Also, with the windows open due to the warm weather, there is constant traffic noise from the dual carriageway and police sirens going all night. The room (333) wasn't as pleasant to stay in as the rooms on the quieter side of the hotel facing the car park.

Our stay was excellent and we would especially like to thank the staff member at reception (Amelia) who allowed us to check into our room a few hours early as we had to travel into Gloucester city centre to watch the rugby.........thank you very much for your welcome Amelia.All the staff who we met were friendly and polite......well done all of you. Our room (327) was spacious, very clean, comfortable and quiet with a good quality TV complementary tea and coffee.The bathroom was also a good size, very clean with an excellent shower with constant hot water. The breakfast was excellent, freshly prepared and with plenty of choice.We enjoyed cereal, toast, a blueberry muffin and a full English breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans and hash browns all washed down with fresh orange juice and the best machine cappuccino we have ever tasted.........superb quality. Free parking in the onsite car park was also a bonus and it is a 10 minute drive along clearly signed main roads into Gloucester city centre. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Gloucester.

Only minor gripe was that our double bed was a bit small for the two of us and it sank a bit in the middle but it didn't affect the quality of our sleep that much.
