The staff was very friendly. The room beautiful and very clean. The public and private bath super! Here offered some drinks for free. Amenities like yukata, towels ok ! 👍 I was looking for a tradicional stay with local people (Japanese) and this place was a perfect choice. The location is 20 minutes from Beppu and if you want to visit the hells of Beppu is a good location. All was good, only the food, I would like to offers more variety.

Staff were very welcoming and spoke enough english to explain everything to us. There was free souchu and lemonade in the lounge. Wifi was ridiculously fast. Dinner and breakfast experience was great because they bring you a lot of plates with different types of food so that you can try a large variety of local cuisine. You also get to choose from a variety of yukata to wear at the hotel. Finally, there are2 jigoku (beppu hells) in walking distance of the hotel, which is quite convenient.

Hot spring onsen was smaller than expected, but it was quite empty during our stay, so it was a nice private experience.

Very good hostel as described in the reviews. Everything is clean, the ambiance is nice, the breakfast is delicious, the room is comfortable and offers many things (kettle, moisturizer, etc.). Free drinks in the lounge.

I had to pay a ~17 dollar fee because I do not live in Japan. I also asked two question on Booking but the hostel did not respond. Watch for that.

The breakfast was fantastic beautifully presented in traditional Japanese Bento boxes with individual fresh tofu on the boil on a little mini hot plate, beautiful lackaware miso soup bowl and fresh rice and fish.

The location was in a quiet location although it was a long way from the city centre. The room was very large and convenient with a large outdoor bathtub. The dinner was extra but it was quite well executed and tasty. We requested a plant-based meal and the quality was fairly reasonable.

There was no breakfast available as they needed more time to prepare plant-based meals. Note: give lots of notice and confirm details! The room was quiet but the other guests could be heard in the outdoor tub area and the bathroom as well.

Arrival check-in process. I checked in online, provided passport info and everything, but staff made me do it all over again and on a touch screen ipad that was not working. Very frustrating to waste time at the front desk
