Location was great! The hotel entrance was facing Lake Fujikawa. Mt fuji panoramic ropeway was just a 5 mins walk away. There is a Lawson convenience store right beside the hotel. There are several restaurants around the hotel too. The hotel provides the necessary amenities (TV, towel, shower amenities, toothbrush/toothpaste, refrigerator)

The hotel is a little old but amenities are sufficient.

real ryokan operation, good breakfast and it’s located in front of the lake and near the rope way. the shuttle bus will operate during 8-10 am only from/to Kawaguchiko Sta. to the hotel so pls schedule your time. the staff tried to help you in English but not good enough.

you have to pay 150Y / head even you haven’t used the onsen. Thus just used it. Currently they are renovating so you will see the structure over your window view.

Beautiful location on the lake. Excellent staff. Very accommodating when we asked for a room for two people and a room for four people. Nice to have non smoking. Amazing Japanese style breakfast. Great onsen. Good restaurants and a convenience store within walking distance. Oh and this will sound strange but while all the toilets in Japan are great, the toilet here was pretty amazing.

One tiny complaint is the futon mattresses were a little thin compared to what we experienced at other onsens. So a little too firm, even sleeping on a tatami floor.

Friendly staff although limited/no English (and no Japanese on our part). Nice location opposite the lake. Appreciated the free shuttle to/from station and hotel.

Seemed to be a mix up with our booking and they didn't seem to be able to find our reservation. We were then put into a 'very small' room (their words) - so extremely small and didn't even fit the two futons side by side. Nowhere to sit that wasn't the floor, which wasn't great for someone with limited mobility/ability to get up from the floor. When asking the next day (after seeing a room being cleaned that had armchairs not at floor level), and as the hotel had emptied of other guests a bit we were able to move to a larger more suitable room. We lost our lake view though and were over a carpark where we couldn't open the window as people smoked beneath.

Before i stayed in Yamagisi Ryokan i wasnt looking forward much given the reviews complaining about cleanliness, room etc. but when i came and stayed 2 nights i was very happy. Room is spacious and clean. Toilet and shower are new. Heater was enough strong. Onsen were very good, location the best. I really enjoyed my stay

Clean room, fantastic onsen facilities. Professional staff. Very good room cleaning service. Responded to my many queries online prior to arrival, which was useful. Great that they have drop off and pick up service from Kawaguchiko station.

Meal plan was fairly pricey, however lots of shops close early or are far away from the ryokan.

Yes dinner and breakfast Japanese style was perfect and unique experience

I booked two room, for three beds , unfortunatetly it'' o e room is facing the other wall if building. My room is facing lake it was very nice..., but when I asked to change the other room to facing lake as well, their request additional 2000 Yen for each guest, so it's 6000 yen. Is it going to be only 2000 yen if the guest only one ? Looks like price is not depent on room side...🙂

My teenage kids and mom/dad had a great time with the traditional Japanese lifestyle both with the breakfast and using the onsen. Great experience engaging in the culture, the whole reason for international travel. Thank you for the hospitality.

Not much comes to mind, we really enjoyed the stay.

My friend and I were able to walk to the facility on foot with our suitcases. Sure, it’s cold since we’re traveling in February. We didn’t utilize the free shuttle until we were checking out and going back to Kawaguchiko station. The public bathhouse was great! We had it to ourselves twice in a row which was nice.

Our room was a bit dusty and the shower head in the bathroom sucks! I took full advantage of the public hot bath because it was better.

I loved the onsen and the traditional feel of the ryokan. We stayed one night and, at lest for our stay, they switched the sides for the male and female onsen so I was able to enjoy both sides. One side has a small stone outdoor area that has a very beautiful view. Paired with a cold morning the water and view are perfect. The hotel was also within walking distance of the lake and a tram that goes up the mountain nearby of an incredible view of Mt. Fuji. There is also a convenience store right next to the hotel for late night snacks and toiletries if you need.

I liked everything. Would definitely come back.
