Great location, right across from the station at Kawaguchiko and only a short walk to the lake and surrounds. Check in was completely self service, never spoke to a staff member once, and it was super easy (I don't know why people say it's confusing, it took about 5 seconds). The sleeping situation was, as advertised, on traditional tatami mats on the floor so obviously it's not as comfy as a bed with a mattress but it was clean and cosy and a great experience. The laundry facilities were great (especially since we got caught in a typhoon and needed to dry everything we owned haha) and the showers were hot, clean and had amazing pressure. Would stay again!

I absolutely loved how convenient the location is. It was honestly so reassuring to know that my accomodation is super close to Kawaguchiko station. It was beneficial for me as I can leave anytime I want in the morning whilst avoiding the crowds and also could come home as late as I want. There are also lots of cafes and restaurants that are great walking distance. I went during autumn and the beddings and heater really warmed me up well and made me feel cozy. It was also good that there was self check in and self check out.

The washing machine was a little bit noisy, i felt like I was waking up the other people in the other rooms as the sound transcended through the hallways despite the washing machine room door being closed.

The staff is very friendly. I loss the wallet in their hotel, and they inform us immediately. We can get it back before our flight. Thank you so much.

According to their hotel rules, the check-in time is at 3pm. After we climbed Mt. Fuji, we are a bit tired, we want to check-in early.we still check-in at 3pm. Anyway, they are very friendly.

I had such a great time today! This place is close to so many attractions and within a 5 minute walk of Kawakuchiko Station. It is especially great for arriving late at night, because they provide parking directions and a way which doesn't require a huge check in process. It is automated! I checked out this morning and rented a bike and went all around the lake! A restful night helped to give me energy throughout the day. And the room is thematic. It looks like a legendary mythical room where ancient samurai drank tea together. And it has bunk beds.

The staff were very helpful, even though I never met any of them in person. Great communication through the Booking.com messaging system. My dad's room was really lovely and spacious, nicely decorated and only cost a little more than mine. Clean and useful facilities. Excellent location.

There was a significant difference in how pleasant and comfortable the rooms were, though the price was quite similar. In my rather small room, it was quite difficult to climb onto the bed (only top bunk) as the ladder was positioned right in front of the air conditioner. Only sanitiser outside the toilets, instead of soap and the tap didn't seem to work - though only a couple of metres away, the main bathroom sinks worked fine. Really not a fan of the half-covers for the duvets, which left half of it exposed and seemed very unhygienic.

Amazing location next to the bus stop. Cool, unique hostel. We enjoyed sleeping on the mats for an authentic experience! And the hostel was VERY clean and had a laundry machine.

No kitchen facilities and it can be loud when others walk around.

The experience of being in a traditional Japanese tatami room was amazing. Location was perdect and everything very clean.

The shared bathroom was the low point and since we visited during winter it was a bit hard to use the bathroom. But I have to say everything was very clean and well organized.

In general we were satisfied.

It was very cold there. The first air conditioning in Japan, what we failed to do, let the warm air blow. Very weak walls, could hear everything in the adjoining rooms.

Very easy selfcheckin. Super close to the Kawaguchiko train station and to the convenience store. Clean and sufficient facilities. Nice price.

You can hear the neighbors if they are not keeping quite enough. Especially when people walk in the corridor.

Location is great! Everything is near. The style of hostel is like old traditional Japanese houses. The bed was comfortable and I liked the big blanket. There are few rooms so it's not crowded. The restrooms are clean and comfortable. Although you can hear your neighbors very well people were polite and didn't make noise
