The hotel is in a great location, close to Kawaguchiko Station, which makes it very easy to get around. It’s well-equipped with shared bathrooms and showers, as well as a microwave, fridge, and electric kettle, so you can easily heat up some food. The room is small but very clean, which is a big plus.

The only downside is that the soundproofing isn’t great. Overall, it’s a solid option for the price!

Samurise was a pleasant surprise. The facility is basic but comfortable and fair for the price. The facility is located behind Kawaguchiko Station and has free parking for those wishing to drive. It is also within walking distance from the famous Lawson Kawaguchiko Station. Beware that walls are thin, and you will hear everything that other guests get up to. The room had AC which kept us fresh during the night. The bunk bed was okay although the mattresses were a bit uncomfortable for us (personal experience). Toilet and showers are shared, sadly other guests may be messy at times. The staff left a personalised note on our desk upon check-in and I found it a very kind gesture reflecting Japanese hospitality.

We arrived after hours, and I found the check-in process a bit annoying. No staff member was present, so we had to enter all our details on the tablet that kept freezing; I had to restart the process multiple times, and it frustrated me a bit. In the end, I managed with the help of another guest.

Very close to bus station, lots of nearby restaurants, very cheap for my own room, warm room, responsive host on WhatsApp

If other guests are noisy then they will keep you awake, luggage left for the day is unsupervised (there’s a camera but anyone could come in and steal it)

For an hostel great. It is tiny but enough. super location - very close to a bus and train station. to Fiuji Q highlands is it walkable. we walked to Chureito Pagoda from the hostel in about 30 min.

self check in area is small and the self check in needs a while if it’s the first time for a self check in for a family.

No on-site stuff. Check-in could be easier. Fridge for food or luggage storage before check-in and after check-out would be nice. The 10-3 PM black in period when check in is not available is a strict restriction: May need to be modified: I understand, this is to reduce, cost, though.

Fantastic place. Loved room and location. We had amazing view to Mt. Fuji. Actually it was right outside the hostel. Next to train station. Quick check in and friendly, personal note left in our room to welcome us😊. We highly recommend. Ow and room was so cosy, warm and comfy. Just amazing!

It's a very comfy place. Both room and toilet are clean. Even though it was fully booked and we can hear people talking as we walked into the place, the sounds disappear as the door closed. The location is near the train station too! Overall is a good place to stay over if you wanted to visit Kawaguchi-ko.
