The staff was very friendly. I also liked breakfast food, much more than even dinner. Hakodate yogurt and milk were really delicious!

You kind of feel the age of the place. Not bad, but some renovations, especially at the hot springs area, could help a lot. But still clean, so kudos to the staff! It also was a little bit too hot at my room, so I couldn't sleep comfortably.

I liked the Japanese style room and the onsens and the private onsen you could rent was very cheap and definitely worth it!

I didn’t like the breakfast, but that’s mostly because I don’t like a heavy meal as breakfast. There was bread (limited) and jam and butter, but those were not great. The bread to me seemed very cheap and the jam had no taste. If you like rice, seafood, all kinds of meat, and different kinds of soups as breakfast then it’s really great.

We got a Japanese traditional style room, it’s very comfortable, the onsen was good, breakfast and dinner have a lot of food to choose from, free wine and beer was a super bonus!

When I book it said I have pay at the hotel, so when I paid at the hotel it was actually more than I initially booked, not happy about this.

Best hotel ever. Staff is very accommodating and nice. Amazing dinner. Free hot spring, free karaoke room with English songs and for a small fee you can rent a private bath on the 6th floor. The dinner includes all you can drink beer and sake. Amazing sashimi

We arrived late due to train delays and the staff kindly let us join the dining room for the last 20 minutes. The onsen was nice, particularly the outside bath (rotenburo).

The room was non smoking but still smelled of stale smoke. The bathroom also smelled. There was a free shuttle bus service to the station but the reception staff didn't tell us about it so by the time we realised it was fully booked. The futons were a bit hard. 2 futons each would have been good. The breakfast and dinner buffets were nice and included drinks but it would have been nice to have some fresh fruit.

The hotel decor is dated in some of the public areas but the room was great. It was in 3 parts, the entrance hall, central tatami mat sleeping area and a small seating area with refrigerator. The room had a futon with a bean layer pillow. The room was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom had obviously been renovated as it was completely new. The door didn't automatically lock on exit. The onsen area is large. The changing rooms has lockers, hair dryers and beauty products. There is an outdoor bath, which was a very comfortable temperature. Breakfast featured a lot of local Hokkaido products, including Hakodate milk. On the dinner buffet crab legs were available.

Dinner was a buffet with all you can drink alcoholic and soft drinks. The beer was not good. The food was a mix of Japanese and Chinese, but not very tasty. Would stay again but would eat out for dinner.
