View was sensational! Staff were excellent. Breakfast far exceeded expectations. Peaceful, wonderful location, bus from railway stations stops right outside the hotel. We purchased a Hakone Pass from railway station on arrival from Kyoto. The Pass covered the bus fares to our hotel plus pirate ship and much more. Certainly worth it. The Pirate ship is a couple of hundred metres from hotel. A couple of restaurants at hotel which included a French restaurant which we enjoyed very much. Also a few local restaurants nearby for lunch. We loved every minute of our stay. Beautiful area.

Location can’t be beat. Wonderful restaurant and bar in the hotel, several other restaurants very nearby. Walk to the lake cruise, which takes you to the ropeway, which takes you to the Hakone Open Air Museum. Stunning, stunning, stunning! Staff is very helpful. AstroTurf lawn for enjoying lake and Fuji view. Guest lounge with free and wine vending machine is nice to have - a beautiful spot to gather.

Bathtub in 403 takes some thought to NOT get water all over floor!

Perfect location. Bus takes you right outside the door. You can see Mt Fuji from your window if you get a lakeside view. The view from window looks way better than the pics. Staff were helpful when asked questions. Welcome drink was a nice touch. Food is expensive but if you go to the bar you can get some mains or side dishes. This property is a 5 minute walk to pitate ship boat. You can go to shrine and cable car etc from there. Fantastic location!

Breakfast was average and probably not worth the price. French toast was the exception though, very yummy. Everything else was so so. But overall nothing too bad to point out. Worth the money if you can afford it!

The view is absolutely stunning. My room was tidy and nicely furnished, it was also spacious. I didn't take advantage of the breakfast service, nor did I access any of the onsen or restaurants on site. I image they would have made the experience even better. I really appreciated the pod machine in the room and the large bath tub. Staff were also kind and professional. A decent level of english was also spoken by all staff that I engaged with, which made things really easy. They also helped me to send my luggage forward.

I would say there was nothing to dislike. If they had a vending machine on site and a shuttle service from one of the local stations then that would have really made the experience a 10/10 for me. If there was really anything to note as a "negative" then that would be it's location, which is a bit inconvenient to get around from. It's quite a long ride from the closest station by bus which can be uncomfortable when busy. If you get motion sick, it's not looking good for you lol. The surrounding area of the Hotel is also lacking in stores and places to eat. Though, just a couple minutes on the bus or a 20 minute walk will take you to an area with plenty of both. Overall, I wouldn't let any of this deter you from booking with Hakone Hotel. It's absolutely a place I would recommend.

THE VIEW... was incredible, we were lucky enough to have one of the end rooms that faced onto the water and having electric curtains that open up to the view of the still lake in the morning was incredible, we could even seen Mount Fuji too. Would definitely recommend to anyone to stay here. Right next to the pirate ship docking location. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

This hotel was our most expensive out of the six hotels we stayed at during our Japan travels and was double any of the others. It did have the beautiful view, but the price didn't include breakfast as standard so was slightly disappointing. The view is worth the stay though. Being fairly secluded meant that dinner options were limited, the hotel restaurant is expensive as well, which was again a bit frustrating.

View from the room was excellent with lake and Mount Fuji right infront of you through the view length window. Room is spacious. The onsen is a plus. A good way to relax at the end of the day with a dip in the onsen. Certificate of inspection of the mineral content of the onsen displayed on the wall as well. Hotel staff are very polite and helpful which made the stay even more pleasant. 2 or 3 restaurants available just opposite the hotel. Sight seeing Cruise station is right next to hotel. Hakone Shrine and Heiwa no Torii are very close too.

Hotel has aged. But having said that, it is still well maintained. Aircon is centrally controlled thus not able to adjust individually per room.

The view of the lake from our room was the highlight. We had a very large room with a lounge in front of the window with a view of the lake and Mount Fuji. Located next to the ferry terminal for the pirate boat which takes you to the ropeway station up to the volcano, connects to the cable car and Tozan Switchback railway. Guests lounge with complimentary coffee, tea and soft drinks.

The 2 restaurants in the hotel are very expensive and you need to book before 5pm. There was only one restaurant nearby that was open at night, which was excellent. No transport in the evening to get anywhere. We asked the hotel to book us a taxi for 0630 to travel to Odawara but they could not organise it, maybe more a taxi issue but a bit disappointing for a large international hotel.

This stay was a highlight of our trip. We loved the comfortable beds and great size room. We were very lucky to have a clear view of mt Fuji on one of our days at the hotel. We utilised the pirate ship which was located next door for boarding. There was a good variety of food available (even for a fussy child) we enjoyed the drinks bar, guest lounge and the onsen. We would recommend this hotel highly and would definitely choose to stay again

We would have appreciated some USB adapters/cables often available in other hotels we stayed at. To be picky-bathrooms were a bit dated but they were very clean and a good size. On the room clean we weren’t given fresh coffee cups which was unusual! The location is gorgeous however do note there is not much open nearby past 5pm!

The view in hotel is really nice. Lounge facility is free and very relaxing. Staff are helpful and good service mind. The location is very near to Sightseeing Cruise, make it really easy to visit all main tourist spot.

The included breakfast is just half buffet (only serve one main dish per guest with buffet drink bar, salad and bread). The bath room is little smelly. Limited restaurant choice nearby and quite far from convenient store.

Staff were so helpful and friendly, the view from the room is lovely (we were only able to see Fuji one time in four days because of the cloudy weather but I’m glad we stayed here for it). The onsens are simple but great. We tried the French and tepanyaki restaurants and the service was awesome

If you stay more than two or three nights there aren’t many options around for food, breakfast is delicious but restricted if you don’t like eggs
