Hotel Reviews Yumoto Fujiya Hotel We had the best stay at Yumoto Fujiya Hotel. You can easily find the hotel with a direct bridge accessible from the Yumoto - Hakone station. We get to enjoy the comfort of Western-style beds and also got to try sleeping on futons on tatami floors. We stayed in the Main Bldg Japanese Western Style room with a good view of the river and mountainside and it was the decision ever. You can hear the sound of the water from the room and smelled the fresh air upon waking up. The room is massive especially with a toddler full of energy. The room is equipped with everything you can imagine - which they supplied generously all throughout our 4 day stay. They gave us fresh towels and yukatas daily. The yukata, slippers and toiletries for kids was a very nice gesture. The onsen was a good value for money especially after hours of walking. The sauna and natural spring water will easily melt all the exhaustion from the day. I was hesitant to use the onsen due to a very tiny tattoo on my arm. The staff checked it and gave me a consent to utilise the spa without any issues. Everyone is respectful and polite. The onsen is equipped with its own toiletries and you will feel clean, fresh, spoiled and pampered. You get to enjoy the unlimited hot/cold tea in the spa lounge afterwards. There are also vending machines each floors. We availed the on-site massage and it was one of the amazing service we’ve had. The therapist know the pressure points without feeling bruised and heavy the next day. We are a family of 3 and paid for the buffet breakfast - I would honestly recommend this to anyone staying in the hotel. We are not a morning person but happily woke up around 8-9am for this. We did not feel rushed even though the breakfast time is until 9:30 am or so. It has both traditional Japanese and western style options. Again, we don’t usually eat breakfast on a daily basis so I thought the meals were pretty decent and generous.

Convenient location - so very close to the train stop and close to so many eateries! Hotel itself and facilities were very nice!
It’s a tad bit pricey. Our group was 5 adults in one room and the nightly rate (breakfast only) was $800 USD.

The Onsen is perfect and the all the food provided in the breakfast buffet is fantastic. Good location, walking distance to both the railway station and the main street.

Rooms are very spacious and location is beautiful, very accessible to the station. They have 3 restaurants inside (Japanese/French and Chinese). We are vegetarian and have decent options in the Chinese restaurant. Please make sure to reserve for dining before going to restaurant.
We reserved for private onsen (hot tub bath). It had a small hole which led to some insects come in. After we told the staff they were kind enough to refund the money but that’s the only part.

Onsen was great, comfortable, large space and clean. We were fortuned to have a room with great view of the river and large. The location of the hotel is superb - the train station and main street are easily reachable. Breakfast is good yet maybe to add more continental section (fresh vegetables and fruits, cheese etc.) Room has with great view and large space. We rent a car from the car rental at the hotel - very convenient !
In the onsen - Please make sure that all soup types are given in English (e.g., Shampoo, Body, etc.) In the room, electrical sockets are barely in the room. The price per night is very high

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We felt very comfortable and welcome as soon as we arrived. We booked dinner at the Japanese hotel restaurant on the night we arrived and had a multi course kaiseki meal which was absolutely incredible. The courses were elaborate ans detailed so the staff printed an English menu for us to read. We tasted the local sake and savoured the delightful flavours of the seasonal food prepared to perfection. We only stayed for one night so we didn't get to see the other hotel restaurants, but the morning buffet breakfast was held in the same area as the dinner and had a variety of different breakfast foods, from Japanese to continental as well as dumplings and pastas. The hotel has lovely public onsen baths that we enjoyed as well. There was an indoor bath and two outdoor ones which were perfect for relaxing after all the travelling. The location is pretty perfect because it's not that far to walk from the train station, and you can enjoy a stroll down the riverside by the bridge.
It was a perfect stay, I only wish we could have stayed longer.

This is a beautiful hotel overlooking the river and a one minute walk across the bridge to the township. We had 2 full days here and found lots to do from here. Is in the beautiful mountains of Japan.
We have nothing negative to say about this property except for booking through Booking.com. Our total booking amount was A$1200 and they took an extra A$1700 out of our account. After many emails to and from them they have stopped any communication with us. I am in the process of trying to contact them by phone which is proving not successful at this stage.

I loved how conveniently it is located, just a short walk from the train/ bus station. The hotel itself is beautiful. Huge lobby with armchairs to relax. Small shops with lovely gifts. The reception staff was very professional and friendly. I booked a traditional Japanese room with futon beds. They were comfortable with soft doona that kept me nicely warm.We had a beautiful view from the top floor. The room was truly large and well appointed. Tatami mats were lovely to walk on. And the onsen was great. Huge and had a few options for soaking. The towels were available from the onsen reception. There were massaging chairs for a small fee of 300 yen. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty.
There was nothing I didn’t like.

The location at Hakone Yumoto is excellent. The hotel is right across a bridge where a beautiful river separates the hotel from the busy station. Below the station is a bus stop with bus services that will take you to Kawaguchiko station, Gotemba Premium Outlets, etc. Do find out the bus departure times at the bus service centre nearby. One can also seek advice from the tourist information centre on how to get started with the Hakone Free Pass.
The private onsen is great. However, I noticed a used towel in the basket inside, which makes me think that someone might have used it earlier and it was not properly cleared up for the next user.

Had problem when checking in that I booked a two person apartment, but they then said that I only booked for one person, and then I had to pay extra for my husband. At the time of booking, there was not option to book for two people, but he room was for two so I automatically assumed that it was for two. Very confusing and frustrating, and took a lot of negotiation to sort it out.
