A really good option in Hakone Yumoto itself, rather than one of the other towns in the area. We were out most of the day but it was nice to come back and have some space to relax and stretch out (still a small apartment but quite spacious by Japanese standards). Reverse Cycle Aircon/heating worked well. Internet was good. Modern kitchen equipment, induction cooktop, large fridge and an absolutely excellent bathroom and wet room. Instructions to get there (inc local bus that stops right outside) were very clear and there's a Family Mart just down the hill a bit. Overall, this was a great break from hotel rooms as we travelled around.

The road was a little noisy but certainly not a busy highway and once we fell asleep, we heard nothing.

Excellent location - 10 min on foot from the train station; Very clean; They allowed us to leave our luggage and check-in early, and the two lads up front even carried our suitcases upstairs! The best thing was definitely the shower and skin care products they provided in the rooms - absolutely amazing. My only regret is that I didn't write down the brand!! The room was comfy - bunk beds with soft linen. They also provided us with "room wear", i.e. clothes to wear in the room which we thought was a great touch. This was our 3rd out of 6 accommodations and it was our favourite! Would definitely stay again if we are ever back in Hakone.

No, issues for us - the hotel was very responsive and the description of the room, building, and route were spot on. Very easy and smooth interaction.

The location and the bathroom was spacious. We were able to check in earlier and we had access to a washer and fantastic dryer. The Nespresso machine was great and they gave us extra coffee the next day. We had pjs and amenities which was greatly appreciated .

I would suggest a smart tv so we could access Netflix. I did appreciate the fridge and microwave . I am not a fan of sleeping on the floor but I understand we are in Japan. Also the cleaning was not up to par. The top shelf in the kitchen hasn’t been cleaned in a while and it’s dusty. I still recommend this place but maybe advise the cleaning crew to do a better job.

Really spacious studio room with a kitchenette including microwave and coffee maker and some nespresso capsules which we really appreciated. Reasonably large firm but comfy bed. Easy self check-in and out. Everything looked spotlessly clean and the unit included everything you'd need. Good instructions on how to get there.

Ground floor unit behind caravan so no outlook but as we arrived late and were only staying one night it didn't matter and it was a bonus not to have to carry our bags up any stairs.

This is a nice budget option in Hakone, if you can’t splurge on a Ryokan. It is just about 10-minute walk from the train station in Hakone-Yumato, so not far from the shopping and restaurant, but there is a slope to reach the hotel. It is self-manned, but they were flexible enough to receive our luggage we sent from Tokyo, which was God send considering the mentioned slope. The room is spacious, it has a kitchenette, a good bathroom (toilet separate from shower), AC and TV. Note the tv does not have streaming options. Keep in mind most shops and restaurants close early in Hakone. After 7 pm the few restaurants (pizzeria and yakinuku that are open are full) so best stock up as there are only vending machines near the hotel.

Also as mentioned no elevator, only stairs.

I received my check in instructions via Booking.com on my day of arrival. About a 15min walk (mostly uphill) from the train station but I recommend using the K Line bus. I needed Gmaps to find it due to my night arrival. My apartment was on floor 3 but I always travel light so carrying my suitcase up the narrow stairs was not a problem. The apartment itself was clean & everything worked fine. The bed had clean linens & afforded me a comfortable sleep being located in a quiet area. The bathroom was compact. The hot water & water pressure were excellent. There is a Family Mart about 250m down the road. After checking out I walked back to the train station. Overall, I was happy with my choice.

Super modern accomodation in dated Mirahakone. Great location. Easy to find. Comfortable. Great bathroom. The kitchen area was stocked with everything we needed for the duration of our stay allowing us to cook in the room as all the restaurants in Hakone close super early. Familymart is a 5 minute walk away or pop into the 7Eleven or Lawsons on your stroll back from the station to grab something to eat for the evening. Self check-in and check-out was awesome and we had no problems at all. The host sends through very detailed messages in both English and Japanese. There is a hill that you need to walk up and down to get to the local town. It is steep, but not super steep, but I can imagine people with supersized baggage will have a hard time. But trust me when I say that the climb only lasts for 20 or 30 seconds. I’m from New Zealand so this hill was a breeze to walk up.

This is a beautiful, very new condo style apartment that literally has everything! A full kitchen, big bathroom, separate toilet, sofa and small table. We arrived earlier than check in but were immediately assisted to go to our unit and settle in. For the prices paid this was excellent value! Please note although it’s an easy walk into and out of town without bags, it’s not a place to get to WITH bags! But you have the option of a 600YEN (AUD$6) taxi ride or the bus which they tell you about on the information. Either will get you to/from in a few minutes super easy! I would highly recommend staying here for the quiet and superb property it is rather than stay right in town! Thank you again for the stay, we will stay longer next t8me!

Absolutely nothing!

The condo was a well designed, super clean and comfortable space with everything you need for a short stay. It was great to have a kitchenette and shops for supplies were a 10 minute walk away. The toiletries supplied were lovely. Owners were responsive and helpful. The neighbourhood was quiet and around 15.minute diwnhill walk to the rail station. It is a steep hill up to the condo but fine if you don't have large bags and there is a bus stop a minutes walk away.

On our 16 day trip to Japan, this condo was our most value for money stay. We had booked established hotels everywhere else and so were a little nervous about staying at a BnB kind of set up. As it turned out, Condominium Mirahakone gave us the most spacious room of our whole trip. The room was well stocked with everything we needed and even had a full kitchen set up. They were kind enough to allow us to check-in a couple of hours early too. We had read some negative reviews about the location but honestly we found it to be quite convenient. There is a steep incline to get to the property but getting a cheap cab to get you there is a breeze if you are weary of doing it on foot. Also, it's a 10 minute walk to the heart of town. The whole experience was above our expectations.
