The friendly and helpful staff - Kira san who attended to us during our Keiseiki dinner was the most helpful and elevated our dining experience. Eager to share useful tips on how to further enjoy our stay around the area.
The stairs from the entry way / toilets down to the main bedrooms can be quite steep for older folks to navigate. The audio system isn’t as easy to tag on to. Also just be mindful that their check-in staff is only on duty till 530/6pm so you will need to time your drive there (although they will make sure to make alternatives to come find you).

My family and I stayed at multiple quality hotels throughout Japan but Okcs Hakone Villa was by far the best accommodation. Although it is on the pricer side, it was worth every dollar. We took a taxi to the villa where we were met at the entrance and driven to our villa. Our host checked us in and showed us how everything in the room worked. Anytime we had a question or needed something we could call the front and they would immediately come and assist us. The dinner was incredible and very filling. The private onsen was spacious and could easily fit 4 people. They can also adjust the temperature for you. Retreat is the perfect word for this place as it was amazingly serene and peaceful. A perfect way to end our trip. I would like to especially thank Yamaguchi-san who supported us throughout the stay. She spoke English and provided the top care!! I wish that one day we can go back. Check out this inside look at our stay on my youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FIrs332vNuQ
Everything was perfect.

The Villa #9 was large and comfortable. So nice having a private onsen, and it looks like a natural pool! The surrounding nature is beautiful and quiet
Since you are in a natural setting, you can expect to see some insects. I believe they do not use pesticides to keep it natural

This place encapsulated everything I love. Earthy, traditional, refined, high quality, serene…I could go on. The staff were at my beck and call, providing concierge service from the moment we arrived. The amenities were fantastic and they thought of everything. We hadn’t eaten all day, and they even took us to a local restaurant that was still serving lunch. We were in Cabin 11, which was secluded and peaceful.
If you arrive by public bus, be sure to call them to pick you up from the bus stop. They will be there very promptly. We made the mistake of thinking we could do the five minute walk with our luggage, not realizing it was all uphill. So that was our mistake, not theirs.

One of the best stays we've ever had! From the kind and accommodating staff—who helped us navigate transport, noted our dietary restrictions, drove us nearby, and responded quickly to every request—to the stunning, nature-filled property and beautiful villa (#3), everything was exceptional. The villa was spotless and had everything we needed. The private onsen was a dream after walking all over Tokyo, and the fireplace created a cozy cabin atmosphere in the forest. The Japanese breakfast was generous and delicious, and the multi-course dinner was equally outstanding. We didn't visit the public onsen (tattoos), but didn't feel like we missed out given we had our own in the villa. Izakaya (MONTA) in the nearby village was excellent. Staff handled reservation upon request, and drove us to and from. 10/10 — would absolutely book again!
Unfortunately, the shower head in our villa (#3) wasn’t working properly and couldn’t be fixed during our stay. While we were still able to shower before using the onsen, it was a bit inconvenient and caused some water to splash around. That being said, a wooden stool and buckets were also available for a traditional wash, reducing the splashing.

The property is amazing, amenities are new and not dated at all. Such a peaceful location, I would recommend hiring a car for this property as it’s approx 10km outside of Hakone town, but I believe there is a bus available. The staff were so helpful, we arrived by car and needed to organise a taxi for our friends and Ayumi (probably wrong spelling) tried so hard and got us a taxi as we didn’t realise how hard it is to organise so late on a Sunday. She was a superstar! Thinking about booking another trip to Hakone from Australia just to stay at this place again
Nothing, everything was amazing. Wish I booked 2 nights instead of 1 night

Our chalet was fantastic. We'd chosen one with a private onsen. They were quite busy but we barely met a soul. Quiet, secluded and peaceful. It was a shame we were only there for one night. We had the kaiseki dinner in our own private room in the Japanese restaurant (they have a French one on site as well) - which was in addition to the room cost - with some paired saké. The Japanese-style traditional breakfast was very good. There was also a cafe on site that offered free coffee to residents whenever you wanted. The onsite team were excellent. A lovely treat to end our holiday.
We couldn't work out how to turn off the light in the onsen at night, nor the air conditioning - and couldn't find instructions. The remotes didn't seem to work. We mentioned this on check out, but are not 100% sure we were understood. If we'd have stayed another night, we'd have made more of an effort to get this sorted. And it did not overshadow our amazing stay.

The staff were extremely respectful and carried themselves with the highest level of professionalism at all times. The food - specifically the Japanese traditional kaiseki (set/course meal) - was some of the best we'd ever had in our lives, served in the most beautiful location, with a high attention to detail and seasonality that brought tears to our eyes. And the hot spring, the best feature of our stay, was always clean, extremely private, and had a small wooden ledge nestled atop a small round garden of mountain wildflowers, with a muted lantern that illuminated the steam as it mixed with the mountain mist at night. 10/10, no notes.

We decided to take a taxi from Odawara Station, which made the half hour journey to the Villa very easy. The property is a beautiful woodsy area and the villas are all separated and fairly private. When we arrived, we were greeted by staff who immediately brought us to our villa by golf cart and checked us in at our place with green tea and a snack. It was so nice! The villa was beautiful! Spacious, clean, with woodsy views and our favorite was the private onsen! I even ordered fruit, cheese, chocolate and wine to be delivered to the onsen! The staff were very friendly and accommodating! They answered all questions and made us feel very taken care of. We had dinner at the Woodside restaurant. It was a course meal and very lovely. We enjoyed it. The breakfast we had the next morning was also wonderful! We only spent one night here, but as soon as we arrived, we were sad we weren’t staying longer. We would definitely recommend this place and book again!

Such a hidden gem and a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. We loved our private little villa in the woods- even a deer welcomed us. Easy to access via Gora station bus if you take the train Hakone or even from Tokyo. The villa was Japandi style- perfectly modern and rustic. Staff took the time to explain everything and fully welcome us. The fireplace was lovely, huge comfortable bed and of course, the private onsen in the room. The bathroom was well appointed with everything you need. House shoes, slippers, pjs, jackets and even complementary socks to pick from! We loved the free mini bar and welcome drinks as well. Breakfast in the morning was lovely as well and the staff accommodated my dietary restrictions with such kindness. We will remember this place and our only regret is that we wished we would have spent more time here- and not in the city. Even a close walk to 7-11 and great pizza too! We travel a lot and stay at lovely places but this one will always be a spot we remember!!!!!
