The onsen was nice and felt very natural, which I appreciated. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were incredible. The futon was very comfortable and I slept well. The facilities were very clean and the staff was nice.

I was hoping for more of a traditional ryoukan, whereas this is a bit more like a hotel. I booked midweek, but it was very quiet. I rarely saw other people, and only heard them at dinner. It would be great if more affordable rooms for solo travellers existed (I had to book a room with two beds, and that room could probably accommodate 3 people).

Great stay! Loved the design of our room and having 2 separate beds allowed us to rest and recharge. Sadly we had only 1 onsen on the balcony, so we took turns with my husband. There was a cd player with several Jazz collections. Restaurant food was delicious and the staff made sure to explain the menu and answer all the questions we had. Most of the time they’d use the portable translators. Hot springs/ spa area was rotated every morning, so we got to experience both bath areas. My favorite treat was the vinegar drink after the baths.

Very welcoming and friendly staff. The hotel was modern, clean and well equipped. The spa is very clean, nice and relaxing. Our beds was really comfortable and the room had a high standard and was quite spacious. The service here is really excellent! They offered a shuttle from the train station. I forgot my jacket at the hotel and the driver went back to give it to me without any extra charge, very friendly.

We booked this hotel during peak season which means that the price was very high at that time. Although we couldn't find a place in the area with a better price and same facilities. I would recommend to go here during low season or a weekday instad of weekend and you will probably feel the price is really worth it then! This property is a bit far away from Hakone and the lake, but it is probably easy to catch those areas with the train. We would have wished for a bit more nature surroundings, it was mostly roads and hotels nearby. The food kept a good standard but maybe not any flavours that impressed us compared to other japanese meals we had. Although, we are very satisfied with our stay! I think it is a once in a lifetime thing to stay in a luxury onsen like this!

The service was professional, friendly and accommodating. We appreciated the shuttle pick-up at Gora Station and their shuttle service the following day to the Hakone Open Air Museum. Also, even though when making the reservation, we were told that dietary restrictions could not be accommodated – when we arrived for check-in and explained our situation, they did their best to meet my father-in-law's pescatarian diet. It was my father-in-law's first time at a ryokan and he loved the private onsen in his room. I would recommend for someone wanting a place to enjoy a serene stay away from the noise of the city. For those who want more to do other than eat & soak & read a book / watch TV, I would recommend elsewhere.

Given the price point, I expected a bit more attention to detail. For example, the basket to bring to the onsen was broken and even worse, a nail was sticking out from the handle. The food was nothing spectacular – I have had better food at more reasonably priced ryokans. Also, I wish there were more amenities & activities that we've experience at other ryokans such as massage services and group activities e.g., guided morning walks, etc.

Beautiful hotel with onsen in Hakone. The location is very good, near the bus stop and the main attractions. The hotel itself feels very new and cozy. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. They have Japanese and Western style rooms so you can choose. The public onsen are very nice! They have different (very warm) pools and a sauna. They are separated by gender and each day they exchange so that you can enjoy both onsen. The food offered is delicious. Breakfast and dinner are served as Kaiseki meals and you can tell they have been prepared and served with so much attention to detail. The staff of the hotel and the restaurant are very kind and despite I didn’t speak Japanese they went out of their way to help me in everything they could and make me feel welcome. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are planning on visiting Hakone for a few days and want to experience onsen and authentic Japanese food!

Fabulous location. Beautiful views of the countryside. Very convenient location. Staff were so friendly and accommodating! The amenities and room setup was fantastic and beautiful and very new looking. And the onsen? So relaxing and invigorating, clean and supplied with everything and anything one would need for cleansing and healing. The meals both at breakfast and at dinner were spectacular!

The meals were delicious and massive. Additionally, everything was elegant and the staff were kind, respectful, and extremely accommodating. Otaguro Yukihira guided us through every meal , was an extremely gracious host, and made our stay memorable. The onsen was comforting and peaceful, the rooms were well kept and spacious. The bus stop is close to the hotel and easily accessible.

I enjoyed every part of the stay.

I loved that they wanted us to wear their Japanese clothing around the place and at meals. The spa was really lovely.

It's in a sleepy little town a bit far from things and not much to do. This town does have an amazing temple with over 200 statutes of Buddha's disciple. I really enjoyed it. There is the Venetian glass museum walking distant, which is ok, but a nice place to have lunch and view the sulphor vents on the mountain.

Amazing value for 2 top tier multiple course meals per day, lovely and quiet baths, and a great room. Friendly staff showed us around and the rules and accommodations were all very sensible. We were set up to have a relaxing time. The meals alone were worth the booking cost. I look forward to returning.

That I didn't stay there all trip.
