It was a wonderful experience staying in a Japanese style hotel for the first time. The hotel is beautiful, with a nice view, the room was bigger than most of rooms we got while in Japan. The hotel has everything you need to make your stay comfortable.

We needed to wash our clothes while our stay, before leaving next morning. The dryer (only one in the hotel, in the female bathroom) wasn’t working. We had to find a coin laundry at 11pm and get a taxi to there just to dry our clothes. It was very inconvenient. Staff don’t speak English, what made the situation a little bit harder, but they tried everything they could to help.

Very spacious hotel and good facilities. Breakfast was also pretty good.

The check in staff could have been more polite and explained more. Also, for the private sauna, they did not explain beforehand that we would need to grab the keys on the first floor and since there was a time limit, we basically lost about 10 minutes for the private sauna. I think they could mention this kind of stuff beforehand. I think they also could have mentioned a little more about the bedding situation and how to set up since other places we stayed, they would set it up for us - don't mind setting up ourselves but would be good to have instructions or someone to show.

The hotel is very nice, located in front of the river, so you can hear the water and the birds when staying in the room. The staff are very friendly and polite, although they don't speak English. The Japanese rooms are authentical, and you sleep on foutons. They have public and private onsens. The backyard of the hotel has a beautiful garden. If you choose halfboard you will be impressed by the variety and the quantity of food.

Not really something I disliked, but I would have liked to know that the room has no shower. It would be a useful information before booking.

Onsen experience was excellent. Perhaps a note in english explaining the custom would be helpful. Be sure to include a trip to the Art Museum. The whole stay felt very authentic.

Very authentic breakfast. The food was not what americans are accustomed to and it's therefore hard to evaluate the quality... but it was a good experience. The dining room could use some designing TLC (care) to make it feel less like a cafeteria. The common area of the hotel could also use a refresh.

Relatively large hotel but still quiet. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were lovely and the meals were delicious. They catered to me being a vegetarian very easily and the meals were huge. I used one of the private baths which was clean and well kept. A short walk from the station, but much easier to find than Google maps suggests and some lovely shrines dotted around nearby.

The room was soo spacious, very clean and complete with amenities. While it is a 10-minute walk to the station, I didn’t really mind because the views while going to and from the hotel were lovely and kept me entertained.

If you were not able to reserve for breakfast and dinner then you would need to go out to buy food.

Amazing! I was just surprised there were no toilets in the room and the room is huge. But apart from that it was amazing. The morning included Japanese healthy breakfast was incredible and the private hot bath felt so relaxing. The price is quite affordable for everything you get. I highly recommend it!

The view is very good, from the large window, we see mountains and a creek. The breakfast is rich and can satisfy both people who can have raw food and can’t. The hot spring is also good. The staff is very nice, provided free umbrellas when it was rainy and we were checking out.

I loved absolutely everything about it. The onsen is amazing. The staff is so nice, I loved all of them. The breakfast sure is slightly strange for westerners but interesting. And the dinner was so tasty. Totally worth it. Arigato gozaimasu 🙏

The location and view from our room was beautiful? The onsen was perfect after a long week of exploring Japan.

The futon mattresses could have been a little thicker. It was hard to get up after feeling like you slept on the floor, which technically we did:)
