We had a great three nights at Apricot Pension. The staff were very lovely and amazing at assisting us with pick up/drop off at the bus terminal. Breakfast was provided every morning and was also pretty good.

One thing to note is the location, it’s about a 10-15 minute walk into Echoland (main area), which in the snow conditions can be a little tricky. Fortunately, there is a free shuttle at a hotel about 200m walk from the pension which takes you to some of the slopes.

The manager and his family made us feel very welcome and always was around to answer questions of where to ski and even drove us to one of the restaurants at night as our taxi didn’t turn up. The breakfast was adequate and would set us up for the day and breakfast time was a good opportunity to talk to other guests as it was a small dining area. We loved the menu at night what they offered too, if we were too tired to go out.

That they had an open fire but had trouble keeping it a light

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The location was just a short walk into the a street packed with restaurants, bars, convenience stores and rental gear shops. We really didn’t need to travel outside of the area at all. The actual property was very well set up with a great use of space, projector for the tv was great and the rooms were warm.

It’s such a beautiful and cozy place to stay, especially when it snows. The hosts were super helpful, made sure we knew where we were going, gave us suggestions, even helped push our car out of the snow. The room was just right for two. There’s also a projector that you can connect to Netflix and YouTube, which was great to end the night.

There were times where you could hear the other guests if they were being loud down the corridor or in the downstairs area, but that didn’t affect our stay too much.

Handmade, delicious and healthy. They were very kind about dietary restrictions (dairy and gluten).

It's homey but not like a lux hotel stay. Depends what you're looking for. This one is very popular so they could expand as sometimes the equiptment room for ski gear was very tight.

Staff very friendly and picked us up/dropped us at Hakuba station! Rooms small, but were probably one of the bigger rooms we had throughout the 4 hotels we used in Japan. Loved the size of the bed! Coin laundry facility. Brekky provided was decent enough, not sure why previous people complained when it was included - 1 morning was mini sausages, banana, egg sandwiches, 2nd morning was a brioche roll, apple, hash brown, scrambled egg and ham. Nespresso type coffee machine. Cute lounge area with fire lit at night. Nice and cozy, didn’t feel cold at all. 5ish min walk from the ski resort shuttle which was very convenient. 10-15 min walk from restaurants (side note, I recommend booking the restaurants in advance!). Dry room for your snow equipment. Loved the projector!

Found that we could hear the other guests coming back to the accomm at night which was a little annoying - stomping up the stairs and talking, but maybe we just had inconsiderate guests staying at the time haha. Wouldn’t stop me from staying again! Bathroom ventilation could be better and shower went a little hot/cold.

Loved the friendly helpful staff, the included breakfast was fantastic and the dinners there were exceptional (Italian & tapas). Was convenient for our favourite ski fields with buses just out the back. Also shared area meant we meet other skiers.

The extra Japanese floor beds were a bit hard for our teenage kids especially after a day’s skiing (but staff helped with extra bedding to soften them)

The staff is very friendly (they speak Mandarin as well). The breakfast is provided, this saves us some trouble of looking for food in the early morning. The car park is provided with no cost, this is very convenience for the hotel guest who rented a car. During winter, it would be great if the snow in the car park can be removed. This is because guest do not know the exact size of the car park as it has been covered by snow.

The staff here were incredible and went out of their way to accomodate as much as possible! The rooms were large for Japan and the communal area nice and cozy. Special shout out to Lawrence the resort driver for helping us out! Thank you also to the staff for really making an effort to accomodate my friends dietary requirements!

Only a few of the resorts are not as easily accessible by shuttle bus from close to the apricot pension but still possible if you plan in advance!

Cozy, super comfortable beds and really helpful staff. Staff were able to receive and forward our luggage to next hotel. Also super close to a shuttle stop. Always get a spot on the shuttle at this stop as it’s normally the first stop. Good dinner and breakfast too.
