Great location and the staff was extremely nice and helpful. It was pretty cool to experience the traditional Japanese living experience. They had lift tickets & shuttle available for Happo One. I added a couple days onto the back end of a work trip to Tokyo and took public transportation to whole way there and back. The Happo bus terminal was a short walk away and can get you to and from all of the other slopes as well as Nagano.

Great location super easy to walk to Happo One, the bus station, restaurants, etc. Had a dry room to dry out ski boots and enough room in each room to hang up ski jackets. Staff was great, helped answer questions and very nice! The hot spring was perfect for after skiing. If you’re looking for a traditional Japanese style hotel and to have a great home base for skiing this is it.

No frill accommodation that is pretty good value for money.

Snowboards are hard to use on the racks in the drying room.

It was very quiet, primarily, as far as we could work out, because it was very empty. No noise whatsoever during the night, except when they were clearing snow, when it was impossible to sleep. Onsen also very quiet, I only encountered one other person in a total of about 8 visits. Room was clean and typical of its type. Nice to have the skirental place on site. A nice location. Nice staff.

We thought it was hugely overpriced. Our mistake for a serious misjudgement. Breakfast too was very pricey, and, for us, very unappealing on our first morning when we sampled it; we went to the Happo every other morning...so much better and cheaper too. The onsen was ordinary, probably why it was never busy. As a regular visitor to the country and its onsens, I've never previously seen one which doesn't provide at least some amenities, such as cotton buds, hair tonic, razors, etc.. The staff were very pleasant, but close to zero English spoken, which makes things a bit difficult if you can't speak Japanese, as I, regrettably, can't. While this was in no way the fault of the hotel, it's worth noting that, in our week's stay, we were unable to eat in any of the restaurants we would have chosen, and knew from previous visits; everything was booked out, and we weren't even in peak season. Book before you arrive!

Staff were helpful, the location is great for accessing bus lines

The room had a bath/shower which we were not allowed to use. We had to use the public onsen on a different floor from our room.
