The location is great - quiet at night but also within walking distance of bars, restaurants and Happo-One ski field. Big secure dry room for all your ski gear. Shuttle bus on demand was awesome, taking us to 2 different ski fields, or to the local supermarket, bus station, bag shipping place etc. All the staff were super nice. Breakfast was different each morning and was pretty good albeit a bit small on some days. The sliding doors within the suite meant it was almost like a 2 bed apartment when closed. Kitchen was good for cooking. USB chargers in the rooms. Communal area was cool, with its relaxing chairs and pool table. Super fast wifi.

Had an issue with hot water a couple of times but it didn’t last long. Wish the communal/games area stayed open a bit later.

The room is very nice. A lot of space. We can cook in the room.

The breakfast is a bit simple, Western style. No Japanese style.

Very spacious, comfortable, clean and warm without hot air blowing directly at the head board which was very much apreciated. Facilities were great, spent our evening playing pool and connect4 in the communal area. The suits had a kitchen cooker & all utensils for cooking and cleaning for longer stays. Did our laundry there and it was easy and spacious in wash laundry room (2xwasher & 2xdryer with tablets provided). We had our lugguage sent there and arrived before we did. They had a huge long drying/boot room for ski equipment in the winter to store anything by reception. We left our bags there on arrival before check in time. The bus station is about a 5min walk down hill. Hakuba station a bus stop away (check timetable as they're not frequent) or walk 30mins. Will definitely visit here again.

our fault for not checking prior but also wished they had inform customers that the ski lifts/gondola in the area do not run in the month of November considering we had aimed to do some hiking trails to see the late autumn foliage in the mountains this would've saved us some time and money to plan our trip better. The landscape was still pretty regardless but had to cut our trip short due to not having much to do in the area when the lifts/gondola don't run.

House was very nice and clean. Breakfast was a daily set - we were there for 6 days and the main dish was slightly different every day (western style though). Location is relatively near town - just a couple of minutes drive.

Although I've seen reviews about how helpful the staff were, we had a very different experience. For example, we needed help booking a table at one of the local restaurants - the staff told us to use the phone to make the call (we're chill with that) but when we asked for help because the call was in Japanese and we don't speak Japanese - he was clearly unhappy that he had to help. He could have been having a bad day but this really put us off and we stopped asking for help subsequently - especially if he was at the desk. Other staff weren't very helpful either - they'll help but they'll make you feel bad for asking for anything.

We love the facilities, especially the table soccer which my 2 kids enjoy a lot.. breakfast was very tasty, very clean good size family room. There are oven and microwave which was very good when you need to pack food from the Family mart. Amazing staff.. Best in all of my japan trip. I stay in 5-6 hotel/resort.. this is my kids favourite. Very comfortable..The shared washing and dryer machines are very helpful as well. Once again, amazing staff. 10/10 because of the staff there.

It would be great if there is Onsen available.

We stayed at this hotel for seven nights, and it was fantastic! The service was always friendly and attentive. The breakfast was excellent every day and a real highlight of our stay. The location is perfect for exploring the nearby mountains, the many hot springs, and the rural areas of Japan in general. Our son loved the playroom, and the staff was very family-friendly. There are also plenty of parking spaces, which was very convenient. We had a perfect stay overall and gladly give 5 stars!

Breakfast was wonderfully made every morning and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They gave us a lift to/from the city centre whenever possible and was very responsive to our messages. We made use of the free rental bikes to tour around the village as well. In general, the decoration of the whole lodging is modern and nice and the ambience was relaxing. They also have all the facilities for a good stay, including washing machine! Will definitely stay in this accommodation in my next trip to Hakuba.

Practically everything! There are so many amazing things to say about this place, I'll just go in order: 1) They were VERY prompt and communicative over booking.com chat for my questions and requests for my sister who is on a wheelchair. 2) They have a free shuttle bus service for pickup from the train/bus station and a dropoff. AND for whenever you want to visit anywhere in Hakuba that's within a 10 min drive diameter. HOW COOL IS THAT?! An absolute highlight and USP of this place. 3) THE STAFF! Omg, the staff is some of the BEST I've ever seen in all of my stays around the world. In particular, their managers Thomas and Rena. I cannot emphasize how immensely helpful they both were throughout my stay there working around the clock to ensure we had the best time. Seriously, words cannot describe how great they were and I cannot thank them enough. 4) Thomas, who was coordinating with me over messages before my arrival; made whatever possible arrangements for my handicapped sister to ensure she had the smoothest time and I am incredibly thankful to him for that. Not only this, he personally took so much time and effort to make sure we got to do the activities we wanted and made all sorts of arrangements including arranging for ski rentals and inquiring with the resorts before we got there. Anyone from the Wadano team reading this, please make sure this guy is taken care of well. He truly is the crown jewel of our experience there. 5) The hotel itself is equipped with an awesome lounge area with a pool table, Foosball, board games and plenty of spaces to relax and unwind. Never had a dull time while I was there. 6) The rooms were wonderful and spacious. A perfect blend between modern hotel rooms on one side and a Japanese inn kinda feeling on the other. Overall, this was the best stay we had out of all of the places we visited in Japan.

The only things I'd say weren't great here were: 1) The breakfast menu. Not a proper buffet and the meals weren't that great to be honest. Although I think that's probably because we visited at a time when there were very few guests. 2) There's one central wifi in the hotel for everyone to use. The signal in the rooms therefore is quite weak. But that's all.

Room was so spacious, everything are new and clean and practical. Actually it was much more than a hotel room, more like a real small apartment, which is what they called themselves. It has a small kitchen with everything you need to cook a simple meal, including an small oven, another microwave, plus rice cooker. No need to mention a set of kitchen knives, plates and cups, etc. Within walking distance you can see the beautiful snow mountains and a convenient store for your night treat. An excellent quality breakfast is included, and the main course of the breakfast was different every morning during my 3 nights stay. During my stay my car key run out of battery, the staff was so helpful and eventually helped me to google how to change it, and even changed the battery for me without additional charge, I was grateful.

Really nothing, I didn't like I couldn't spend more time there......

The staff at Wadano Gateway were amazing, in particular Thomas, Rena and Atsushi. The large size apartment was fantastic for our family and the shared lounge with the pool table, fusball and couches allowed us space to sit with our friends also staying. The daily changing breakfast was always delicious. The shuttle bus outside the door and the Wadano mini buses made getting around extremely easy.

It as a shame there wasn't a real fire to relax by. The drying room was a little crowded.
