A beautiful and cozy house in the woods. As a family of 5 we have been travelling Japan for 1month, mainly in bigger cities and wanted to experience nature for a few days. This is a perfectly quiet spot. The house is fully equipped with kitchen supplies, BBQ and washing machine. Unfortunately the whirlpool did not fully function - the temperature stayed cold and the jets were not functioning. We visited a nearby onsen instead ☺️ There is a free shuttle service from the train station, which was great. We otherwise only used public transport and the Hakuba village shuttle to visit some skiing lifts and lake Aoki. For us this worked fine, but a car might be recommended. The communication with the staff was excellent.

Was worried at first about booking a chalet in Hakuba as we were coming by public transportation, but the hotel group's shuttle service and concierge were so helpful and we never felt like we needed our own car. Free pick up and drop off at the bus/train station, to the lifts and ski rental shops, restaurants etc. The location was also close enough to town that we could walk to restaurants at night. The private in-chalet onsen bath was a huge plus.

A side note to future guests: if you find a lower rate on Booking than the Hakuba Hotel Group website, they say they will honor the lower rate plus a 5% discount.

The chalet is just beautiful, plenty of room for a family, comfortable beds, no complaints at all. Can also use the services from the hotel just across such as the taxi shuttle, assist with making reservations, trips to supermarket etc. Staff were very helpful and friendly, made us feel very welcome. Location is great - short walk to the Kokusai lift (and Evergreen ski school), plus many restaurants and ski hire nearby). The hotel offers a shuttle to the lifts in the morning and back in the afternoon but no big deal to walk if you need to. We had a minor issue with the dishwasher and someone came to assist within two minutes ! We absolutely loved our stay and will be back.

The location in Wadano surrounded by trees was excellent but it would still be wise to have a car. The hot tub in the Phoenix Hotel just across and its cute bar was greatly enjoyed by us most nights. The management were always very responsive and friendly to the odd minor issues eg getting the TV to work

No railing on staircase - risk of falling. Decor included a little too much in black - carpets, cupboards, sofa etc. My personal preference is always for lighter colours

This is a place I will definitely revisit and recommend to all my friends. They responded to our early check-in requests, as we arrived too early to avoid heavy traffic during the holiday season. The room is super clean, and the equipment is handy both indoors and outdoors. Netflix is even signed in with an account per unit. The first time I stayed there was pre-COVID, and the service level has been very well maintained and even feels better now.

The chalet is clean and spacious, and very well equipped with a proper gym and large kitchen. Also love the hot bath in the house which keeps warming the water up during a bath. Lots of spaces to hang around in groups. Staff are super helpful and friendly, and always responsive! The chalet itself is at a great location, it also helps that the host offers free shuttle service to almost everywhere. Would definitely recommend!

The property is every bit true to its descriptions, spacious, clean, within easy access to the snow lift, restaurants and stores. The kitchen is very well equipped and all things in pristine and clean conditions. The manager, Miss Aya was extremely efficient and helpful (even though she was short staffed) but all requests were responded to in a prompt and highly speedy manner. The washing machine and the dry room was absolute godsend in dealing with the wet and sometimes muddy ski wear every day. Excellent value for monies and highly recommended for any families or group of friends traveling together.

Nothing really. Just a note on the bath tube (which is very large) and does take quite a lot of water to fill, and it's heaven to be in but perhaps a little wasteful on resources.

Very spacious, 3 x bathrooms, large lounge room. has front porch. drying room. Heated floors were great, never needed the aircon in Winter. Aya the manager was incredible, deserves 6 stars, managed our daily transfers to ski area and restaurant and even back to Matsumoto station. If I had a business in Japan, I would pay her more and take her to my company. She organised and delivered a birthday cake for my nephew.

It wasn’t Ski in or Ski out as we usually like. however the property provides on demand free shuttle service to and from the ski area -5 minutes away.

Great location, good to be near hotel as well. Gregs access to the slopes.good chalet for sure.

Just needed some more kitchen equipment, additional glasses.

Great chalet. very spacious. Had its own hot tub which opened out into the snow. Location was good.

Not much communication with any of the staff/reception. All done online. Definately helps to have a car to get to slopes and restaurants easily.
