We stayed for a week at Gakuto Villas to do some spring skiing. The staff were extremely helpful and communicated on WhatsApp well. The daily shuttle to the supermarket was really helpful. The villa is really spacious with a mud room for drying skis, a washing machine plus two large bedrooms. The orientation of the windows mean the you look out onto the forest and it feels very secluded. As we were out of season a lot of restaurants and the shuttle bus were done for the season, but we could see there was a lot close by in season.

The villa is spacious, quite and have all the utilities at our disposal. We like the individually controlled underfloor heating, the ski gears can be easily stored at the entrance. The location can not be better, the shuttle bus stop is right next to the villa entrance and a number of restaurants and cafe are nearby. The Sakka Chair Lift and ski gear rental company is about seven hundred meters away from the villa. The host started contacting as soon as the booking was made, the guidebook sent beforehand was comprehensived and practical，There was a discount in purchasing ski pass as Gakuto s a member of the Happono hotel alliance. We had a problem with the car since the tie chains failed. The host responded very quickly to help us to find the store to purchase the new tire chain. The villa driver sent us and the luggage to my car, and helped making arrangement with the car park owner to move my car to a safe location.He was so friendly and helpful that I cannot thank him enough. It was an pleasant experience with Gakuto and would love to return in the future.

Everything about the place, house is clean and nice. Spacious. Heated floor really helped during these cold days. I would definitely stay here again. Really good price comparing to the season that we go and the quality that we get.

I'd say the parking. Since it snowed a lot while we were there, we had to park on the opposite side, it's pretty hard having to carry our stuff back and forth but it was okay.

Really well laid out property. Huge rooms and very comfortable furniture. Beautiful picture windows looking outside and the heating was a great addition.

Would have been nice to have a few condiments left for guests such as salt/pepper/oil and more tea and coffee. There was a pod coffee machine but only 4 pods supplied and a couple of tea bags. They do run shuttles to the supermarket but it’s a shame that (I assume) every new set of guests has to then re buy these simple items.

The room had heated floors, very nice bathrooms, and great views. Multiple rental shops are within walking distance. Happo One ski lifts are only a few minutes away via the free shuttle (also walkable, but safer via shuttle during the winter months).

Parking was not allowed at the unit during the winter months for falling snow safety (not a complaint, just a completely understandable inconvenience). There is a parking lot across the street from the units for winter parking.

Great, comfortable, and clean villa. The radiant floor heating was super cozy and warm. The rooms were spacious and nice. All the comforts of home. We stayed in villa 11 and was very lucky to see a group of monkeys climb the tree in front of our window, eating all the branches.

The villa was perfect, although the transportation around Hakuba could be better. The shuttles only run every hour or so at best so you really have to plan out the day.

Super clean villas, spacious and well located. Probably easier to rent a car to ski in more areas than wait for bus. Showers were amazing and washer and dryer were life saving. No need to use dryer as in the winter everything dries fast with the snow.

Took us awhile to get villa to right temperature, but leaving it at level 2 was perfect.

The decor was great. Very spacious and good separation with two bedrooms.

The sofa was too small for 4 people. It was also not functional with the cushion slipping off the frame. The living room also needed another two seats that weren’t dining room chairs.

We had a very short two night stay but it was perfect! I would definitely recommend staying here. The communication was excellent!

Nothing notable except we could see into the neighboring units stairwell. But we didn’t see anyone often as we were busy the two days we were there.

Beautifully presented, very comfortable beds, excellent heating and bathrooms. Convenient transfers to Hakuba Bus Terminal on arrival and departure, and daily van to supermarket

Its very close to Happo and ideal if you’re an intermediate or advanced skier, but it’s far from Goryu if you’re more of a beginner. We arrived just before the season started, so the buzz was quiet and the shuttles and buses were not possible. So definitely need to stay here after Dec 16.
