My week at Kizuna Lodge in Hakuba, Japan was simply amazing! Sae and Georgia, our hosts, were like family, always there to help with travel tips and ensuring we had the best time. The lodge had everything I needed for a comfy stay, but what really made it special were the personal touches. Sae's breakfasts were delicious, and the short transfers to some ski resorts made life easy. The lodge's common areas felt like cozy forest hideaways, adding to the charm. And let's not forget Sae's adorable dogs – they were the icing on the cake! Overall, Kizuna Lodge is a gem in Hakuba. Can't wait to come back! 🏔️❄️

Everything was perfect :)

Stunning and convenient location with friendly staff. Delicious daily breakfast with both western and Japanese options, the perfect place to stay. Sai (the manager) and her staff are incredibly helpful, kind and generous with their knowledge and time. The lodge offers daily drop offs morning and evening. The common area is spacious and a great place to meet others coming to Hakuba to enjoy the snow. There is a sizeable ski/board and boot room to store your gear after a day. Highly recommend this place for your trip.

The breakfast blew us away....homemade omelettes and a full continental breakfast. Evening/morning tea/coffee, juice..ect They catered to my husband's dietary needs. They had a very cozy common area.. beautiful relaxing indoor lighting with a great ambiance . Floor to ceiling windows with views of the forest greenery.(I can't even imagine how beautiful winter must be.) Closed off gazebo with pet friendly area. Outdoor fire pit and BBQ setup. The free shuttle was a great addition ,they drive us to and from the train station and to local hiking areas. The staff were so hospitable and very welcoming. They offered great information on the local area.

Amazing! The staff were fantastic! Sai picked us up from the station and helped my group out with finding activities to do in Hakuba. She drove us around to see some amazing view's, and took us out to lunch at a restaurant that was high up in the hills. Such a kind and thoughtful women. I've never experienced this kind of welcome before and I will always refer other travellers to go stay here. The lodge was beautiful and the location was stunning. Thankyou to everyone who made our stay the absolute best! We will never forget what you all did for us 😊❤️ PLEASE everyone, go stay here, you won't regret it!!!

Lots to like about the place. Excellent location within walking distance of Happo One and Rhythm rental shop. Bit longer to walk to the shops/central Hakuba but still easily walkable. If you don't have a car Sai can help out, just write in her little book to organise trips to the shops, restaurants or certain ski resorts. Also great communication before we checked in letting us know our luggage arrived safely. Extremely friendly staff and intimate lodge atmosphere. Breakfast is top notch, serving a mix of Japanese and western style options. Note they will come out, ask if you want the full breakfast and what your dietary preferences/requirements are. Then they will give you A LOT of food. So don't take the free cereal / granola thinking that's all you're going to get or you'll be too full to ski! Common areas are very cosy, loved taking a break from snowboarding to sit by the window drinking tea and watching squirrels play in the snow.

Couple of minor things that stopped me from giving 10/10. On my first night some guests stayed up late talking loudly till 11:00pm (there's a sign saying don't make noise past ~9pm). Really messed up my sleep after a long day travelling and no staff told them to keep it down. Sound-proofing is very limited which can be an issue when you're waking up at 6am-7am for breakfast + skiing. The mini-fridge is quite loud too so I had to unplug that as I'm a light sleeper. Also the double bed (two singles put together) are extremely hard and I say this as someone who likes firm mattresses. Sai gave us an extra blanket/comforter which we used as a mattress topper to soften it up a little and that fixed it.

Our stay here was simply amazing. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They were more than happy to drop/pick us up from the bus terminal and other nearby locations. The ambience was so cozy and beautiful. They had an onsen and other facilities like washer and dryer. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Free breakfast was provided, and they had access to hot beverages all day. Highly recommend Kizuna Lodge for anyone travelling to the region :)

Couldnt fault the staff, they were helpful, friendly, made me and my two young kids feel like we were at home. Our room was wicked, spacious, clean and we had no issues with the shared onsen bathhouse. We loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone. Only a short 5min walk to Tokyu hotel to catch a free shuttle bus to the slopes. Perfect stay

Absolutely can't fault it. Thats the truth.

Breakfast was always delicious with a mix of western and Japanese options available. Host was extremely helpful and always willing to go the extra distance to make our experience enjoyable. Lodge well situated away from the centre in an idyllic forest setting but close enough to walk to nearby restaurants and supermarkets. In-house onsen was superb.

There was a lack of storage space for luggage in rooms but we did have a lot and it was never much of a problem.

The room was spacious and comfortable, it was just a little too warm as we couldn’t figure out where to adjust the heater. It was really nice to have different breakfast every day. Appreciate that.

The lodge and our room were generally tidy, but the staff might need to pay closer attention under the bed as we found empty bottles there

Kizuna Lodge was the most homely place we have ever stayed. Sae and her team are all absolutely lovely and chatty and willing to go out of their way to help you and make sure you have a good stay. The breakfast is delicious, just what you need before heading to the snow. The facilities and rooms are very clean and the area is quiet and peaceful at night. Huge thank you to Sae for creating such a warm and welcoming environment, would definitely love to stay again!
