They had coin operated washer and dryer and a small eating area (which they were very clear that you need to pay so they will make your dinner). The tatami floor was very very comfortable to use but I find that the heating inside the room was quite weak and it takes very long to reach a steady temperature. The staff was extremely extremely kind. Words cannot describe how guilty I felt when I fell sick and dirtied their tatami floor a bit. The lady at the counter spoke very good english and she helped me wipe down the floor to get rid of the smell.

The first night of my stay, the ladies common bath was unfortunately not open. I guess the staff forgot to prepare for it. Unfortunately, after that I fell sick and was unable to use it for my entire stay. The place was very very close to the atomic bomb museum and dome but quite far from the other main city attractions such as the castle. I didn’t mind the walk though, until I fell sick.

The ryokan room is a tiny but charming place to stay as a foreigner, and see something a bit different from european style hotel. The hosts I met were nice, and it is just 10 minutes walk from the peace park (with the hiroshima memorials and museum) and street car to the train station is just 5 minutes walk (then 25 minutes ride)

The room had a bit of a cooked cabage smell (that might be from the cleaning product, as I already smelled this in other hotel), that takes you on arrival, but you get accustomed to it after 2 minutes.

Pretty close to the HIroshima peace memorial, which is the only thing I actually cared about seeing. Which is actually pretty close to the Hondori, which I discovered was amazing and spent the entire day walking through. Great Ryokan experience. The bed was thicker than I was expecting, meaning more comfortable than just a sheet on the ground. Unit had A/C and multiple outlets. It has a Luup station right outside, so it was easy to grab that and travel to the memorial.

They don't have wifi in the lobby, so after i checked out at 10am and came downstairs to figure out where to go, there was no wifi to use.

Staff are very welcoming, the rooms are perfect if you want to immerse yourself in Japanese culture. The shared toilets and shower rooms are nice clean. The location is right next to the Memorial peace park, museum and city centre.

The mens communal bath is a nice touch, but the side of the tub could use a bit of clean as it didnt look too appealing I, had to reassure myself that the water was actually clean (which it was)

The location is very strategic, as it is near the atomic bomb museum. Additionally, the staff is friendly. They are willing to explain things in English and wait for me even if I'm a bit late for check-in.

Because the single room in the tatami mat it has a little bit of a smell, but it's okay for me. Maybe better ventilation is needed

The location was perfect. I could walk to the Peace Park, Museum, and the Atomic Dome. It was a 5-minute walk from a bus stop and a street car station, so I could get anywhere in the city that I wanted. The accommodation was clean and included a great shower and complimentary yukata and tea. The people were nice, too.

Closeness to Peace Park was great. And the no 2 and 6 tram route, which we used to and from the station, and the trip to Miyajima. Great bakery nwarby

Room was simple but with private bathroom which was very convenient, and you could walk directly into the room with all the luggage.

Breakfast was not offered, and the staff was correct but not very enthusiastic.

The rooms are nice and cozy, and the staff was so nice and lovely. The location is great, nice and quiet; but close enough to walk to downtown Hiroshima.

No criticisms, I loved Ikawa Ryokan!

It was as advertised. Simple, clean and quiet. And good location.

The shared shower appears to be for everyone. As a solo female traveler, I would have appreciated a female-only shower. But it turned out to be fine.
