The location was perfect for us. A short walk to the Peace Park and Museum along with the other attractions we were interested in. The reception staff were fabulous and the main reason I've given the rating I have. The hotel was generally clean and tidy.

The pictures didn't reflect the room we were given, with additional furniture that was not only pointless but made a small room even smaller. The bed was comfortable enough but only 1 pillow each, which was so flat it wasn't worth using, and resulted in both of us having unnecessary aches and pains and a poor night's sleep.

This hotel was a bit more expensive than I usually go for, but it was all that was available. That said, you get what you pay for— this hotel was nice! No complaints about the room or anything really.

For a room this expensive I’d typically expect a bit more, for example to have breakfast included, but that would have been even more expensive! The bed was huge which is just not necessary for one person, and it seems this was size over comfort— bed was a bit hard and had a ridge in the middle (where they probably put two smaller beds together to make one big one). If that’s all that’s bad, not really a big problem though.

Recently renovated business hotel, we ended up getting two rooms next to each other for family of four. View from corner room is very nice, and better setup. Essentials are there, the bathrooms are nice. And we liked that the beds were proper doubles. Transport also very convenient, tram stops very close, as are the outdoor mall and peace park. Bathing room in hotel was also pleasant, and while small, it wasn't difficult to find times to be alone if desired.

The door is kind of a squeeze and has almost no clearance against edge of bathroom, we luckily never pinched any fingers, but there are warning signs! Also if you need to do laundry, there is a nice facility, just be prepared to put in a lot of extra time on dryers or split up your laundry, the dryers here seem to be eco-mode or lower power.

The receptionist at the hotel was very kind and wonderful! She really helped us understand how to get around Miyajima and gave us information about events happening in Hiroshima. The hotel is in a great location, close to the bus/streetcar station, as well as the shopping street and the Peace Memorial Museum.

When we received the room, it wasn’t very clean. There were leftover food sauce stains on the table from the previous guests, and there were a few stains on the bedding. We were very tired on the first day, so we didn’t complain about it. Additionally, the room was relatively small, as expected in Japan, but it was well-organized, so we managed with two trolley suitcases

Really easy to get to/from Hiroshima Station, just a street car ride away. Great amenities. Laundery, a great onsen bath and a massage chair in a room with a good manga library. Decent way to recoup after lots of days walking. Konbini right next door. Nice 10 minute walk from the Peace Park, Memorial Museum and the Atomic Dome. Very easy access to the Aquanet ferry to Miyajima. Would absolutely stay here again.

We had a twin and only stayed a night so it didn't really effect us but the room was pretty small for a twin. I was thankful we didn't have the majority of our luggage with us. I wouldn't let this dissuade me from staying again though, I would just get a different room.

Super easy check in using machine but staff were always on hand to help. You get a free drink daily during happy hour as well! It's also really well located for the peace park, and the bus system is easy to navigate to make your way to places like Miyagima. Room was small as standard, but handy shelves and roll out chairs made the most of the space. Didn't use the public baths as I have a large tattoo so assumed I couldn't go in, so can't comment on those.

A trek from the station but there are regular trams. Pillows are a bit thin but again you can ask for more so not an issue.

Great location close to public transportation, restaurants and convenience stores. Plus walking distance to all the major attractions. Rooms are decently sized for Japanese standards with all the regular amenities. We booked a King Bed room and were quite comfortable. If you need more pillows, blankets or anything else; it’s available from the front desk for free - simply ask the reception staff. Staff are friendly & service is amazing! The hotel has a shared bath area on the 2nd floor for guests. On the 2nd floor there’s also a coin-operated laundry room with 4x washing machines & 4x dryers. There’s a free massage chair in the laundry room plus a large selection of anime DVDs for guests to borrow if they want. There’s a happy hour every evening between 6:30pm - 8pm where guests can have 1 free drink each. It’s a self-serve bar and there’s a mix between beers, spirits & soju. Non-alcoholic soft drinks also available. Breakfast is worth the ¥1,500 per person price tag with a buffet mix between Japanese & Western food options + self-serve soft drinks, hot & cold cafe drinks. The hotel also offers luggage delivery services - must take bags to reception before 11am.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Kuretakeso Hiroshima Otemachi! The room was well-organized and made great use of space, which made the stay very comfortable. Everything was thoughtfully arranged, so it never felt cramped despite the compact size—definitely a great use of the room layout! The location is also ideal—within walking distance to key attractions, shops, and restaurants, which made it super convenient for exploring Hiroshima. Whether you're heading to the Peace Memorial Park or looking for a great local meal, it's all just a short stroll away. A fun bonus was the free happy hour drinks—a perfect way to unwind after a day of sightseeing. It was a lovely touch that made the experience feel even more special. The check-out process was seamless and hassle-free, which is always a nice way to end a stay. No long waits or complicated steps—just quick and efficient. Overall, this hotel offers great value, an excellent location, and thoughtful touches that made our stay enjoyable. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting Hiroshima!

The location was awesome, very close to all the major attractions and a lot of shopping and restaurants around. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast always exceptional, some new options every morning and everything we tried was delicious. They had a mix of Japanese breakfast items and more western breakfast items too. The staff were great and check-in/check-out was very simple. There is a 7/11 on one side of the building and a Lawson on the other side which is awesome as well as vending machines within the building. Laundry facilities were also really good with a note to coin exchanger within the laundry room as the machines only take 100 yen coins. If you’re looking for a comfortable, affordable and convenient hotel, this is one.

Great location and great value for money. Quite a small room - but about normal for Japanese hotels - with en-suite bathroom, kettle and fridge, so everything one needs for a stay in this fascinating city. For a city centre hotel the price was amazing. The staff all speak English and were helpful and friendly; everything is spotlessly clean and the hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from all the atom bomb monuments and museum. There is a tram stop right outside which provides convenient access from the central railway station. Can thoroughly recommend this hotel for people visiting Hiroshima
