This was a solid hotel. The location is great. The staff were amazing. I stayed at a different hotel a week before and showed up early (need to leave one hotel to get to another and usually show up early). This other hotel said they couldn't coat check my bags and would just have to wait for check in. So, sat there for a few hours. Not here. They took the bags and I went off to explore the city. Not only that, when I did come back for check in time, they had already moved my bags to my room. That is what you want from a quality hotel. This is a quality hotel. Also loved the naval history. The room keys were also cool (gave it ambiance).

The bed was a little hard, but I hear that is great for your back (slept fine). And there might be something to that idea for your back.

The location is excellent as it is 2 minutes away from a subway station. The room is also rather large for Japanese standards as it is easily twice the size of other hotel rooms at a similar rate. There is a convenience store close by so you can easily get snacks or drinks. The wifi speed is decent and you can easily watch videos on YouTube or other streaming platforms. It's also within walking distance of Chinatown and Motomachi.

There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom so everything is covered with condensation after having a shower. Some may consider the lack of TV channels as a minus so just be aware that there aren't a lot of choices.

I liked that it really felt like a small home away from home. It didn't have the ultra-modern hotel amenities, which were always off-putting to me. Staying here felt very comfortable and relaxing.

To be honest, I don't think I would change anything. My time there was short because I myself had made an error in booking, but the hotel did what they could to help me. I had no problems with staying here and would recommend it to everyone.

Location was beyond excellent! It is next to Chinatown and walking distance to Marine Tower. The entrance to the metro is a few meters away and a bus stop right in front.

More availability. Rooms book fast. The Japanese style rooms with mats are quite limited.

Location. Sauna. Staff were so accommodating. I got newspapers to stuff my wet shoes, and an English one to read. Room was quiet. Room was big.

For an economical no frills stay, I have no complaints

Smoke smell in room. Very basic. Room and property are very dated.

The location was amazing right beside China town and several major sites. The room was also very large, the place was clean, and the price was very low.

The hotel is very old, like from the 1960s and the bed felt like it was too. By far the worst bed I've slept on during my trip. The internet access was also spotty and a bit slow. However my biggest issue was with the shower..... it rain ice cold a number of times and also pulsed from ice cold to scalding hot, it was a horrible experience.
