Our stay at Hotel New Grand was unforgettable. The service was outstanding, with plenty of staff who were all helpful, polite, and friendly—always ready to assist with a smile. The location is unbeatable. We splurged a bit for a room with a view, and it was worth every yen. Perched on the 14th floor, our room had large glass windows offering a breathtaking view over the port and Yamashita Park. I could easily spend hours just soaking in the scenery. The room itself had a nostalgic charm, reminiscent of a classic hotel from the ‘90s—a style I absolutely adore. It was cozy and elegant, adding to the overall experience. To our surprise, Yokohama quickly became our favorite city in Japan. This was our first time visiting the country, and we explored Tokyo, Sapporo, Niseko, and Osaka, but Yokohama stood out. The city has a relaxed pace, not as rushed as Tokyo or Osaka, making it the perfect place to unwind. We can’t wait to return to Hotel New Grand and experience this view, comfort, and warm hospitality all over again. Highly recommended!

I booked my room and it was for breakfast included. That means all the guests in my opinion. Then at check in we were told our children have to pay. This is wrong and embarrassing. I refused to pay and the hotel did not charge us. Please correct this policy for future guests. Breakfast included should mean everyone. Not just parents. !!

I recently stayed at Hotel New Grand and it was such a special experience. What I loved the most was the historic atmosphere — you can really feel the elegance and charm from another era the moment you walk in. The Main Building especially felt like stepping into a beautiful piece of history, with high ceilings, gorgeous staircases, and breathtaking views of the ocean. The location was perfect too — right across from Yamashita Park, and just a short walk to Chinatown and Motomachi. It made it so easy to explore Yokohama. The service was outstanding. Every staff member I met was kind, professional, and made me feel very welcome. Overall, it wasn't just a hotel stay — it felt like being part of something timeless. I would absolutely love to come back again someday.

When we were there, the Center Park was under renovation, and we didn’t know about it — no one told us. It was supposed to be one of the main highlights of the hotel, so it was a little disappointing. Also, depending on the room, the facilities like bathrooms or elevators might feel a bit dated. The room key is also an old-fashioned physical key instead of a card, so it could be a little inconvenient if you’re going out and need to carry it around with you. But honestly, these were very minor things compared to how beautiful and special the whole stay felt.

Don’t worry that the hotel isn’t located directly in Minato Mirai, or that it might take a long time to reach Tokyo. The hotel is close to Motomachi-Chūkagai Station, from which you can easily access both areas. You can travel straight to Shibuya or Shinjuku in just 30–40 minutes without even changing trains, thanks to the through-service. It was very convenient to do business in Tokyo during my trip, and I have no regrets about choosing to stay in Yokohama because of this hotel’s location. All the hotel staff were outstanding—the reception, food, facilities, and the views from the room were all first-class. As a cherry on top, you even get a taste of the hotel’s historic background. Considering its affordable price, I think this place is a real gem in Yokohama—not only for travelers on business in the city, but also for anyone needing access to the greater Tokyo metropolitan area.

Wow! I don’t even know where to start. We stayed for four nights, and I wished we could have stayed longer. The service was absolutely incredible—unlike anything I’ve ever experienced at a hotel. The in-house bar was fantastic, with outstanding service there as well. The hotel’s ambiance is magical. Our room was spacious, and the view was breathtaking. We did have one night when the guests upstairs were a bit noisy, but the hotel staff was incredibly helpful and resolved the issue immediately. This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we will definitely be coming back!

Nothing to complain about

Check in/ check out was easy. All the information from the booking site was correct and communicated to the hotel before arriving. We chose the breakfast option as part of our package which was very good and we were able to choose either their breakfast room or room service for a western breakfast. The staff was always very helpful. I liked the early check-in time available so we could get in our room as soon as we arrived from the airport

The only minor thing was it would have been nice to have a shuttle to get to the cruise ship terminal but it's within a short walk of the hotel and running any shuttle could easily get out of hand

"It was a true pleasure to stay at this magnificent hotel. The grand architecture allows you to feel the rich history of the property. The service was impeccable. We stayed in a room with a view of the bay and the vista was stunning. We also visited the main wing, where we sat and admired the beautiful trees of Yamashita Park, an unforgettable experience. We savored a delicious Japanese-style breakfast, beautifully presented, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The location couldn’t be better, with views of the bay and the Yamashita Park, and just minutes from Minatomirai, Motomachi, Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, Yokohama Museum of Art, Chinatown, among other attractions. We spent three unforgettable days at this hotel and are truly grateful for the experience.

Wow, the service when we arrived was wonderful! They took and stored our bags, checked us in, and were very obliging. The room was amazing, 8th floor corner! The view of the ferris wheel at night was great. The value for the money was excellent! We had two rooms, a single for our son (3rd floor view of the park), and a double for us (corner suite). And they took care of our bags and ordered us a taxi for the airport. Great service, ambiance, breakfast, and stay. Will book again if in Yokohama!

Generally satisfying staying experience, but not much particularly outstanding. Staff were nice and helpful. Facilities are sufficient and well managed. There is a car park right opposite to the small road and convenient. We have a side sea view of the Yokohama harbour which was very nice. Very close to the China town which takes 3 min walk to get there.

Breakfast included was nice as well as the restaurant where breakfast were served. However the staff in the restaurant does not speak much English compare to other staff at the front desk. It took a while to communicate our breakfast choices.
