This hotel in the center of Kobe was located in front of JR Kobe Station. It was convenient to have Harbor Place, waterfront, subway, bus hub, taxi stand, grocery stores, several convenience stores, Japanese restaurants, and a shopping arcade nearby. Underground, I could walk to the shopping mall at Harbor Place, which has a movie theater and many high-end stores, and enjoy waterfront dining, restaurant cruises, and stunning views of Kobe harbor and its port just below the Ferris wheel at Kobe Port. The nightly stroll around the harbor was fantastic.

We stayed here comfortably for almost a week, despite a few things that could be improved. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is very close to the train station and its eateries and supermarkets. Our room was spacious, and the sofa was nice to have. The staff were very kind, and a couple of them were English speaking. The breakfast was an excellent variety of Japanese specialties. The beauty products provided were quite luxurious. The window opened.

(Several of these things have been mentioned by previous reviewers.) The decor was dark and dated. The window was difficult to open, and our view was of a very close wall--no sunlight. One of the beds was pushed up against the wall so that the curtain was hard to deal with. The air conditioner/fan was aimed down so that we could feel it when we slept. But, despite all of this, it was a good stay!

Breakfast was Asian and more than plenty. If I had paid for the breakfast each day, I would have balked at the price, but I opted to include it with our booking so it was already paid for. Having a warm place to sit and enjoy breakfast was worth it's weight in gold! There were washing machines and dryers onsite with laundry soap. That was amazing. It was so helpful to be able to wash clothes each morning as we ate breakfast. The location was great. Just a few minute walk to the train station. There were grocery stores on either end of the train station so we bought dinner at the grocery store a few nights and took it back to the hotel and ate it in the breakfast area. Healthier and easier than eating out. It was cold and when the sun went down, it was colder. The futon folded out to a twin size bed for my child. We brought our own linens.

The property was aged. Looks like the Centurion may have purchased an older property and refurbished most of it. The wall paper was peeling in areas, but that wouldn't change my desire to stay there again.

Instead of the 40 m2 room we booked, we got two rooms. No problem at all, so we had two bathrooms. The staff is super friendly. We did not try the breakfast. The laundry is not recommendable, especially the dryer that takes about 4 hours to dry the clothes. Overall near the train station and the market is on the corner. 10 min from the port.

Laundry is not the best. No soap allowed (it is automatically added - too little). And the dryer takes too long.

The insulation in the building must be excellent as after leaving the cooler on for two hours, we could turn it off and awoke nice and cool. The bed is really comfortable and long enough for me as a Feet something man (184cm). The staff are always very good and accommodate our needs. Also quick checkout in the elevator by putting a room key card in the checkout box is great for speedy exit.

Room was very clean and well maintained. Location was excellent and close to the JR station as well as shopping mall. The Harborwalk is an excellent area for families to walk around and enjoy the harbour view.

Nothing really major to complain about. However, perhaps more attention should be given to the coin laundry area. We used the washing machines multiple times and they worked well, but the middle dryer seemed to be either extremely inefficient or malfunctioning, as it was not able to dry our clothes even after running for two hours, whereas the first unit (on the left) was able to dry our clothes within one hour. Perhaps the middle unit needs some maintenance or the filters need cleaning.

Great location, just steps from Kobe Station, lots of restaurants, convenient stores & a huge grocery store. There was just enough room for the 3 of us. It was nice that they had paid laundry for our long stay. The shower had great shampoos and water pressure. Staff were very nice and helpful.

The walls are very thin. Could have used more outlets by the bedside tables (there was just 1 so you couldn't use the lamp and charge your phone).

The location was amazing. It’s in front of Kobe station and also there is a lot of local lovely shops and restaurants around the hotel. Moreover, it takes approximately 20 minutes to walk from the harbour too! The staff were friendly and professional and the room was clean too. I definitely will stay there again if I’ll visit in Kobe.

Beautiful room, only a little scuffed. Nice couch- I haven't experienced that in a Japanese hotel before. Bigger than the average small hotel room. Staff were very kind and accommodating. Lots of creams in the bathroom, more than I know what to do with. Huge TV.

Could have artwork in the room. Terrible view out my window- a wall a few centimetres from my window. Curtain could be a little darker. Lights were a little too dim for the room. How about a TV channel with some English, at least the news? I've experienced it only in 3 hotels in Japan.

Location was just 100m from Kobe JR station. Super convenient. There are good amenities provided and the room is of good size. Would stay at this hotel for my next visit.

My room did not come with breakfast. Breakfast is JPY2200 for each person. I did not check the food variety so I could not comment.
