Beautiful views of the sea from the room we booked. Walking distance to Meriken Park for some open space relaxation and sightseeing activities. There was also regular shuttles to Sannomiya and Shin-Kobe station in the weekend. Ample parking available at a cost, which could be discounted with an Oriental membership sign up.

We stayed a total of 4 nights. There was a surprisingly standoffish feeling experienced in relation to the overall staff reception, which was something we did not encounter in our rather lengthy Japan trip spanning other chain hotels. Staff were generally cordial only when approached, but the typical “omotenashi” feeling of eye contact, tone of delivery or the willingness to extend assistance seemed to be missing. Perhaps we checked in on a busy Saturday, but with an iconic-looking hotel like this, deserves better “software”.

Wonderful stay with a beautiful sea view! I had an amazing stay at the Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel. The sea view room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable — perfect for relaxing and unwinding. The hotel is quiet and peaceful, making it a great place to clear your mind and just enjoy the moment. The breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options, both Japanese and Western styles — a great way to start the day. The staff were kind, helpful, and professional, making the whole experience even more pleasant. There’s a FamilyMart just downstairs, and even a small spot to grab fresh paper and pens, which I found very thoughtful. Transportation was also convenient — it’s a short walk from the nearest station and close to the harbor area, perfect for sightseeing. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kobe. It’s ideal for those looking for comfort, convenience, and a peaceful atmosphere with a stunning sea view.

Location and view are absolutely amazing and worth every penny! The room was a bit dated but that is honestly what gave it it's charm. The entire hotel had a vintage feel and I loved it! The room was quite spacious with a closet to hang clothes. Check-in was a smoothe process. It was self check in but staff was immediately there to assist. I needed to forward my luggage to another hotel and was kindly guided to the on-site convenience store where the staff was quick to help arrange everything I needed. Honestly, this place is perfect for a multi day stay. I wish I could've stayed longer. The breakfast was also great in that it was very varied. You had lots of options to choose from. I will definitely return should I find myself in Kansai again :)

In the room I couldn't find any outlets apart from the desk area which were already taken by the lamps, etc. I had to charge my devices in the bathroom and that was minor inconvenience. There was also a bit of mildew accumulation on the bathroom floor. It could use a some new grout. Additionally I was a bit confused about the ViewBar hours. There was a notice saying bar hours for the time of my stay were 7:30pm to 9:00pm. This seemed highly odd for a bar, even for off season. Even so, I managed to get in at 6pm.. but was confused nonetheless. It was just surprising for me that a bar would close so early.

I booked this hotel to celebrate my daughter and I's birthday. 🎂There were flowers in the room and a beautiful congratulations card🌸. The room was spectacular! I was upgraded! It was big, beautiful and had a fantastic view from the 11th floor! 🙏There were fireworks🎆 in front of the room. The amenities were excellent! There were bottles of water, tea and coffee to make. The hotel is incredible, full of new things. From 2:30 pm to 9 pm the free drink bar in the lobby opens, with sparkling wine, a variety of tea and coffee, 🍾chocolate and some sweet treats. Breakfast is from 7 am to 11 am. Very delicious! An incredible variety of fruits, breads, food, fruit mix, freshly squeezed orange juice, cheeses, prosciutto and many high quality things. But the freshly made burger was incredible! The entire staff was smiling and helpful. I did self check-in and check-out so it was very quick. My stay was wonderful and I am very grateful for the gifts from the hotel! Thank you very much for the wonderful room! I will always come back and I recommended it to everyone on my Instagram 😉🙏

Everything! We are upgraded to a large room as soon as we got there for just 9000 yen for 3 nights - with balcony & view of the port. The front counter staff were very accommodating & helped us a lot. The buffet breakfast with the fantastic views was amazing. Having vending machines inside the facility was very convenient. We wish we could have stayed longer to experience more of the hotel and Kobe overall.

We thought access to the pool area could have been complimentary for hotel guests.

We had an absolutely wonderful two-day stay at this hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming. They kindly upgraded our room and offered access to the executive lounge at a very reasonable price, which truly enhanced our experience. Our corner room was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed, offering breathtaking views of both the ocean and the city—an unforgettable sight, especially during sunrise! The food was fantastic, with a variety of delicious options that catered to all tastes. We also enjoyed the executive lounge, which added a touch of luxury to our stay. Overall, everything exceeded our expectations. We had so much fun and felt very well taken care of. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, excellent service, and stunning views. Can't wait to return!

Everything was very good.

We stayed in Meriden Park Hotel for 1 night during our Kobe trip. All staffs are very friendly. Guided us for luggage storage and check in. Room is large with balcony and the sea view is amazing! Hotel also provides free shuttle bus (every 20mins) for hotel guests to go to sannomiya train station, which is very handy. The hotel is right in front of Kobe towel. At night, there is a light show at the Kobe towel and marine park, which was an amazing surprise ! Will highly recommended this hotel to everyone coming to Kobe.

Location is absolutely amazing, views from the window (west side) fantastic. Hotel is very impressive, rooms are big and clean. Beds/bedding are heavenly comforable, it was like sleeping in the clouds.

Check-in is extremely inefficient. We filled in all details online in advance, incl. passport scan, yet automatic check-in hotel system did not have it on record (we were informed these details were in 3rd party agency database!) and we had to fill in all again (several attempts as we were getting network error message every time. In the end we had to queue for check-in for 20 minutes. Towels in room bathroom are horrible, thin as paper and yellow/gray color, as if they were very old/ not washed well. Hotel is so big that there is no personal experience/feeling to it, it is like a factory.

Loved the location and the view from the room, and the breakfast buffet was superb. Ice and vending machine on the floor and free beverages in the lounge were quite useful. Excellent housekeeping and helpful staff. The free hotel shuttle buses to and from Sannomiya and Shin Kobe stations were a real help in getting around.

Body lotion provided was miniscule, could do with more. Room on the smaller side, might be uncomfortable for a family or if more luggage eg 2 large suitcases.

We enjoyed so much watching the changes of view over the water from our balcony during our six night stay. The room is well appointed and with sufficient amenities. The customer services were excellent from front desk, housekeeping to the shuttle bus offered. The food served at executive lounge and All flag restaurant were flavorful with fresh materials and ingredients. The traditional curry dish was so good that we tasted it in every meal. I would definitely recommend this wonderful hotel to my friends.
