The room is a small typical Japanese hotel rooms. Tidy and clean, nothing special. Love the public bath, it's so convenient to have a public bath in your hotel, relaxing in a hot bath after a long day of walking. Location is good, 5-7 minutes walk to train and bus stations. The staffs were so helpful and speak English well. They helped us getting our shoulder bag we left at our previous hotel.

Stiff mattress was tolerable but a rice bag as a pillow was so uncomfortable.

Well located and extremely convenient to take public transportation. Walking distance from so many attractions and restaurants. We loved this hotel. Fresh towels and pjs everyday were just the touch we didn’t know we were missing. :) They even offer safe luggage storage before check in and after check out!

A lot of space as far as Japanese hotels go. It’s conveniently located close to shops and public transport. The double single rooms are large enough for two people. Bathrooms are standard Japanese bathrooms, very small however a non issue, it still gets the job done.

Lack of places to put your rubbish.

The public bath was why I booked this hotel and I had a nice relaxing experience there. I especially enjoyed the separate bath tub located outside the public bath. The breakfast buffet was reasonably priced and had a decent variety of food options.

The bed could’ve been more comfortable and the room could’ve been cleaner.

Really nice hotel with a great japanese breakfast. The SPA is nice bonus. The location is eccentric but you have all the buses you need right in front of the hotel and you can go directly to Gion or Kyoto Station.

You will get a nice view of a wall but overrall the room is nice and big, so it’s not a big deal

Breakfast was immaculate, the bathroom facilities were amazing, they had heat and AC options to keep you comfortable to your preference in your room.

Room was not very spacy, but Japan is meant to be traveled to stay in your room for, it had all I needed

My room on the 7th floor had a frosted window, ok it didn’t have a view of anything in particular but a clear window to see the weather is better imo .

The staff here are incredibly professional, kind, and polite. There was a small mix-up during my stay, but they handled it with care and sincerity. The rooms are clean and comfortable, great value for the affordable price. Highly recommend!

The locations is a bit far from JR stations.

The location, right on Shijo Doori was excellent and the main shopping area was easily reached. Buses travel along Shijo and Horikawa to all corners of the city including directly to the station. The staff were super helpful, including allowing me to leave one of my suitcases at the hotel while I briefly went elsewhere. The hot bath in the ground floor isn’t anything special and likely isn’t a true onsen (i.e. not volcanic spring water) but is still very pleasant to relax after a long day.

Only a minor nitpick, but the breakfast was a typical Japanese breakfast buffet, so the options for a European who likes their sweet breakfast were very limited. However, konbinis were close in case they were needed.

Very nice location with a subway station nearby (Shijo - 10 minutes walk), many eateries and grocery stores. It was clean, comfortable, quiet. Good value for the money paid.

Nothing essential. I managed not to skip my breakfast once, but when I got there the dining area was full and I had to go away because I couldn’t wait.
