Happy with the location as everything was easy to reach: the station, Gion and the buses for Arashiyama. The room was clean and fairly large compared to others on this trip. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was well-equipped. There was no bath this time, only shower. The staff were professional but a little inflexible. There was one slightly worrying incident when they suggested there might be a fire on the 7th floor and we were literally locked in to our floor as the lifts stopped working and the only staircase had a security lock on it that had to be broken in case of emergency. Luckily, it was a false alarm, but it was a bit disconcerting to be locked in there.

What did I love- all of it!! Wow!! This hir is above what I expected- we stayed all over Tokyo and Osaka and this place by far had the best quality begging, linens, pillows were so comfortable and room came with 2 pee bed which most places you have to ask for a second pillow. The duvet felt so luxury. They spared no expense on making the beds feel so comfortable and you can touch the quality! Room facility’s and entity’s were lovely, it’s only a stand up shower no bath but that’s ok for us. Effect warm and modern toilet. Great use of layout and space considering the size. Free coffee and yummy toast and jam for breakfast each morning! Love this place!

Only downfall was location it’s not too close to Kyoto station or the main shopping or tourist areas. Lots of local bus options to catch out front but they are always packed so you will be standing for the ride.

There was not enough English breakfast tea vags provided in the room. Just green tea bag’s and we do not drink green tea. Second day thought they would provide but had to go and ask at the office. Both times I was told that English breakfast tea only available with breakfast. Eventually when I requested whether I could swop the green tea bags for English breakfast teabags, the receptionist gave me the black tea bags. This was an unnecessary inconvience having to go ask for teabags which most western people drink

room was spatious, clean. The staff was very friendly and advised me well. The location is great.

the breakfast was not so good, however there are a lot of stores in the surroundings that offer amazing food.

- My room was lovely. It was pretty large and had nice layout. It felt spacious. - Cleaning was excellent. - The room had nice vibe; it felt peaceful. - There were many restaurants near the hotel, and it was a nice area to walk around. - The price was excellent for this high quality. - So many public transport options nearby.

- Breakfast could have been a bit different, but that's pretty much the only thing that comes to my mind.

The room was very clean and quite spacious as for Japanese standards. It had USB sockets. I particularly enjoyed the design (glasses, kettle etc) and the high quality sound system.

The staff didn't explain if we could use the water tanks in the lobby or if there was coffee available. I still don't have the answer. As for a 4-star hotel with a 4 star price, the difference with an APA hotel was little (the sound system, the fancy kettle, a bit bigger room). The pillows were very uncomfortable, and the ventilation was too loud. I stayed for 3 nights. The area isn't very interesting for tourists. There is no view from the window, and it is impossible to check the weather.

We stayed for our honeymoon and the staff left us a lovely note! 🥰 Great Location, Shijo station is about a 10minute walk and there is bus stop right outside the hotel. Clean, comfortable and spacious Affordable self laundry service for around ¥600 per washing/drying load which was great and we used this facility. The staff were brilliant and they helped us read the machine instructions.

I was lucky and got the room on a sale. However I can confidently say that without the sale I would still be just as content. The room was clean when arriving and the amenities and appliances in the room were also high quality and clean. Customer service was really accommodating to my mixed Japanese and English as well and they put in effort to ensure check in and baggage delivery was seamless.

Modern boutique hotel. Lovely details and massive shower room. The beds were comfortable and quite spacious room in general.

1. There was no window 😅 there is a fake window that sort of gives the light but you can’t see anything through it. For me personally that was a bit claustrophobic. 2. We asked for a taxi to get to the central station as it was raining outside and we had heavy luggage however we were told at the reception that we should call the taxi ourselves (we didn’t have Japanese phone number to use the taxi app) so we ended up walking for 30 min in the rain with the luggage. Just found it strange they couldn’t help us 🤷🏼‍♀️
