Location was nice, but a bit of a walk (10-15 minutes) to sights and shopping/restaurant area. Hotel is very close to busstop to different sights in and surrounding the city. Next to a Family mart. The hotel was well designed (modern Japanese, a lot of wood), and I liked that they offered free drinks (water, tea etc) in the lobby of the hotel. Staff was friendly In the lobby they give other travellers the opportunity to share their Kyoto travel tips on a 'recommendation wall', which is a nice detail. Room has a tiny desk - which is used for some work related meetings.

I didnt necessarily like the flooring in the toilet (sort of textile) and that the bathroom sink was part of the bathroom. The flooring was a bit stained (water, soap, toothpaste) and it made it feel a bit less luxurious.

I had an exceptional stay at this hotel, exceeding the city's usual standards. The room was impressively spacious and well laid out, featuring an inside garden that added a zen touch to the ambiance. The bed was remarkably comfortable, and the little tea corner in the room provided a perfect spot to unwind. The bathroom, equipped with a magnificent bathtub, further enhanced the overall experience. In addition to the exceptional room, the hotel's location is superb, with easy access to numerous bus stops and the metro station, making it convenient to explore the city. Situated at the city center, it offers a perfect blend of luxury and accessibility.

While the hotel offers a fantastic stay with its spacious and well-designed rooms, the only downside is that it hosts numerous travel groups. This can occasionally make the lobby quite busy, but the overall experience and comfort of the room make it a worthwhile choice.

We liked the design of the hotel and our room was very comfortable despite being small. The room amenities were a nice plus with pajamas, slippers, teas and sweets provided. We loved the ground floor lobby space that offered a very comfortable place to relax, eat a meal or plan your day with free beverages available to guests all day. A very thoughtful plus for this small hotel.

It seems that regular dusting had not been done for sometime in the hallway on our floor. There was visible dust collecting in displays next to the elevator. Although our room was very clean, we could see that it wasn’t carefully cleaned under tables and in corners there was some dust. It is a lovely hotel, but management could improve the attention to detail in cleaning to make it feel amazing , especially since the rooms are a little tight. Also it would be nice to have more practical hooks for hanging bath towels and it was not clear where to put a suitcase in the room.

We were at awe once we entered our room. It has the traditional feel with a modern touch. The tatami mats made us feel like we stayed at a ryokan. Very classy room for the price we paid. Although not central Kyoto, there are 2 bus stops within a minute walk and one directly outside the entrance. Makes it easy for us to travel around. Also liked that it’s only a 15 minute bus ride to Gion and Nishiki market also a 10 minute walk to the nearest subway station. Will definitely stay again the next time we visit.

The hotel has a spacious room which is quite larger compared to the usual room size in Japan. General ambiance is very nice and fitting to the city. There is a kombini just next to the hotel. Shijo and Karasuma subway stations are within the walking (~5mins) distance.

Almost nothing. The hotel is close to the main attractions. There are several bus stations around. Shijo and Karasuma subway stations are close as well. Only difficulty might be, if you are traveling with large luggage and arriving to the city by shinkansen, then taking subway to Shijo station may not be the best option. You just need to walk a bit in Kyoto station to access to the Karasume line and then also walk to the hotel. I would suggest taking bus instead which is just stopping in front of the hotel.

The hotel was actually really lovely and the staff were great. There was free coffee and other drinks throughout the day. The facilities were good and the rooms were clean and spacious.

My main issue with the place was that the breakfast was a fixed menu each day and I have allergies and other food restrictions and they weren't able to cater well for this and said it wasn't possible to get me plain bread or a banana. On the last day they did get me bread and banana but I felt that I'd paid for breakfast the other 2 days and not really been able to eat anything.

If you are traveling with family, DO NOT BOOK THE SUPERIOR TWIN ROOM. It is tiny. Four people cannot possibly sleep in that room. We upgraded to a larger room, which was beautiful, had a tree in it and a huge bathtub.

The pictures on the website are misleading- they are mostly of the penthouse rooms. If you book any of the rooms on the second through 9th floor, your room will not look like this. The facilities are nice but there is no space to open a suitcase or move around. The deluxe rooms, however, are very very nice.

The staff were super welcoming and attentive to every request immediately. The tea facilities, in the room and in the lobby are wonderful. Although the pillows were large and too hard, the staff changed them strait away. Also, there were issues with the washing machine coins filling and once informed, the staff member attended the problem strait away. The lift is fast. Access is perfect for a guest. I am very happy with my stay. Location to key points and metro, bus, tram were ideal. The room we had was also quiet and dark once the curtain was closed. Perfect sleeping environment. We were given a map and every question was answered.

It didn't seem to have enough hangers for towels and clothes, Not that we asked for it to be changed but the Netflix was in Japanese and we couldn't change the language - didn't ask though, I am sure they would have accommodated us if we had. Also I didn't like that we had to leave this hotel to travel to our next destination..

We stayed at this hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences we’ve had. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel truly welcomed — warm, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile. The location is perfect — peaceful yet close to everything we needed. The ambiance is thoughtfully curated, offering both comfort and charm in every corner. Everything was spotless, the room was beautifully prepared, and there were lovely little touches that made our stay feel extra special. Whether it was the front desk, housekeeping, or restaurant staff, everyone was exceptional. We felt genuinely cared for throughout our stay. If you’re looking for a place that combines comfort, elegance, and outstanding service, this hotel is it. Thank you for making our anniversary unforgettable — we’ll definitely be coming back!

The only downside was the view, which wasn’t as impressive as we had hoped.

Great little place just walking distance from shijo market, the hotel is quiet and not too busy which is good. They have a small breads/waffles station for people who didn’t order breakfast which is a nice touch, as well as a welcome drink station

i wasn’t able to get extra water to my room which i found weird given that its a 4 star hotel, they mentioned they stock the room with 2 small bottle everyday. The AC can’t be overridden to keep blasting, it keeps turning off all the time and for me i like to sleep in a cooler environment. I also didn’t like the cleaning of my cups. they smelled like coffee, they’re just lightly washed with water in the room and not fully changed or cleaned with a sponge. Upon arriving the receptionists were pointing at my passport and giggling as well which i found a bit unprofessional
