The hotel apartment in Kyoto has a convenient location with three nearby stations within walking distance. The apartments themselves are relatively small and appear a bit worn, with scuffed wallpaper and a kitchen door that didn’t close properly. Upon arrival, the room wasn't fully cleaned, with some dirt left behind. Additionally, the bathroom and toilet felt a bit outdated and more manual compared to other places we've stayed. However, there were many positives. The check-in process was smooth, and there was a convenient service center nearby for luggage delivery. The room had a lovely view of a small local temple with blooming sakura trees. It was warm and cozy, though it could get a bit stuffy, but we managed by opening the windows. Overall, it was a decent stay with a mix of good and less favorable aspects.

We had a decent stay at Stay Sakura. While the location is great and the room was spacious for such a central area, communication was sometimes challenging as the Japanese staff didn’t speak English. On our last night, we noticed how much noise travels through the building due to the wooden floors—movement upstairs was quite audible even though the other guests weren’t being particularly loud. I ended up going upstairs to kindly ask them to move more gently. Overall, it’s a good value for the price, especially considering the space and location.

LOVED the convenience of having our own washing machine in the room so we could wash our clothes easily and daily - which was necessary because it was so hot during our stay! There was no need to have a dryer in the room as the bathroom included a de-humidifier and hangers provided could be hung in the bathroom. Also loved having a mini kitchenette and a mini fridge that included a freezer too! We often had family mart or pre -made meals from the local grocery store at night after a full day out so that kitchenette was so great to have! Also loved the guest service centre. We left our luggage there which was promptly delivered to our hotel room and we were able to check in straight away and receive our key cards too. Such a smooth process and gave us such a great experience before we even entered the hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful. And answered all our questions. Lastly, convenient location - bus stop right outside and 10 min walk to main street and family mart / grocery store.

Not that much space inside the room. As we had 3 of us in the room, the sofa bed was pulled out. Perhaps some instructions on how to tuck away the sofa bed would've helped as we didn't figure out until the last day and i think that would've helped with the limited space.

Everything. The hotel is really well located. I had a standard room, and it had en suite, 2 ¾ sized beds, a cooker, a microwave, a washing machine, and a large balcony. This was all for about £60 a night. Fabulous value. Spotlessly clean and quiet. When I arrived in Kyoto, I was meeting a friend, and dropping my bags off would have been a pain, but the hotel has a customer centre 5 minutes from the station. I called in, checked in, and dropped by bags off. They then took that bag to my hotel so it was in my room when I arrived. Fantastic service.

I wasn't bothered as I tend to get up early while travelling, but there was no option for breakfast.

I loved staying in Sakura :)) our room had two big beds with comfortable pillows and duvets, maximum comfort for great sleep after intense days of visiting and discovering the city! Localisation was great: just in front of our hotel there was a bus stop from which we could arrive wherever we wanted; also a walk to Gion wasn't taking that long time from it :) after starting in Tokio in a rather small and compact room, staying in Sakura with huge beds and a couch and a coffee table in some sort of "living room" area and equipped kitchen was very pleasant. Also, when checking out we were allowed to leave our luggage for a few hours until our next train, so we could still visit the city with no heavy backpacks. I definitely recommend this hotel! :)

Location, location, location. Busstop in front of the hotel and extra buslines around the corner. Even easy acces on foot to Nishiki market and Nioji Castle. If you are a hiker, you can hike to all the major spots in Kyoto. Just take your time to experience. Het laatste Second visit to hotel. Two years ago with my adult children and now alone. Absolute value for money. Thank you team Stay Sakura!

Though you might have a window in Japan, you do not always have a view. Please align your expectations with Japanese architecture, or just pay more for a view.

Fantastic place - big rooms, kitchenette, full bath and shower area separate from toilet. Freindly staff and wonderful location. Ease of checkin and luggage delivery service available and easy to use within a 5 minute walk from Kyoto station. Staff were easily able to communicate in English, and all were very friendly and willing to help. No complaints at all! Thank you for a lovely stay!

The only minor thing, is that I would have preferred a lamp instead of a dimmer switch in the room as I'm keen on quiet evenings. This however did not at all detract from my experience and I woul highly recommend this property as a place to stay.

- The location is good but not that perfect. There is a bus stop in front of hotel (only bus no.50) There are Family Mart / Fresco supermarket and Life supermarket nearby which is very convenient and most of them are open 24 hours - Room layout is exactly like in the picture when booking - The room size is normal (not big and not small for Japanese standard) and have enough room for 2 big luggage - All amenities are provided (slipper / hair dryer / cutlery / toiletries / 2 cubes of detergent). A bunch of towels to change also - Free wifi is working good - There is a 2-seat sofa in the room we booked and small table for all-purpose used - Washing machine is in good condition and you can use the dryer in the bathroom to dry your cloth overnight (there's a manual for everything in a room) - The reception waiting area is quite small and receptionist is not always there (they already told you upon booking that receptionist has to patrol the hotel by the time) - The elevator is small but in good condition - I recommend staying 2 persons only as it will be too packed for 3 people

- We can hear voices from the room upstairs but not that loud (not that disturbing but would be better if 100& soundproof) - If travelling by train, the location is quite far from station - The cutlery and kitchen facilities are very limited. It's good just for when you buy something easy to eat but not suitable for cooking a meal - Overall room is clean at first glance, but some small areas are still dusty (bed / bathroom door)

Quite central (a few minutes away from Shijo subway station), close to supermarkets, restaurants, a post office and a Yamato drop off point (if you ever need to send your luggage to your next destination), the property has everything you need : a functional kitchenette, a washing machine and the option to dry your clothes in the Japanese style bathroom, very comfortable beds. Very much recommended !

Location...bus stop just outside the door. Short ride to railway station. Quite area and about 5 minute's walk to shopping area and convenient stores Lawsons and Family Mart. Supermarket about 7 minutes walk. Many cafes/restaurants nearby to explore. Was good to have washing machine, small kitchenette and small lounge to sit on & relax after a day exploring. This is our second time staying and can recommend this boutique apartment style hotel
