This was a lovely property with great interior and lives up to the photos - if you’re looking for something that will give a more authentic Japanese feel I think the rooms captured this as they had a more traditional style of Japanese layout and the facilities were all clean.

Overall our stay was lovely. However there were a few masks on my duvet that I noticed after the first night; they also have a policy which states that your room is only cleaned if you’re staying for more than four nights. I am a clean and tidy person so it wasn’t an issue for me, however there was no reduction in price given that our rooms weren’t being cleaned which seems slightly cheeky given that a room clean is usually included in a hotel stay. The staff were helpful when they were there but the front desk is only monitored between 2pm -11pm each day.

We stayed here for 3 nights, 2 adults & 1 child. Spacious rooms with everything you need for overnight stays. Very easy check in, and storage for before check in and to leave luggage after. Hassle free. Very friendly help on the desk. Walking distance to main attractions, there is a bike store ( j bikes) just around the corner, I would recommend hiring bikes for a day, great fun, easy & cheap! We didn’t need to pre book this. Also the Japanese steak bbq next door is an absolute MUST!! We enjoyed it so much we went back the following night - insane!!!

The room was stunning. And very clean. The shower and bath area was just lovely. Hot hot water and excellent pressure. The toilet was fabulous too! The beds were super comfortable and the kids (aged 12, 10 and 7) all loved the Japanese mats and slept well. Copious amenities available if you require anything. Always a fresh supply of towels and jammies to help yourself too. We stayed for 4 nights, with amazing house keeping after 2 nights (half way).there is the most beautiful sushi bar across the street specialising in salmon, tuna and eel. It was my favourite meal in Kyoto. There is an awesome Sukiyaki restaurant next door to the hotel also. There is a place to hire bikes 100m away around a corner. It is close to the station.

Everything was fabulous.

This place is really nice, perfect location, close to everything. Some restaurants nearby too. The room is comfy, beds somewhat hard but this has to be expected in Japan when beds are between hard and rock hard. Small fridge in the room and very spacious bathroom, perfect 👌

Ventilation in the entrance of the room should be improved. There is a small bit of carpet with bad smell that is hard to bare. Luckily there is a door that can be closed. Main room light is in the entrance too...

This new place was so super sparkling clean and cozy, amenities were in excellent condition. The interior design had just the right balance of modern simplicity and a traditional touch. You get your room the exact way it is shown in the photos. Would stay here again. Check-in procedure was fully self-serviced and really convenient given that we arrived late at night. Staff were really helpful and friendly as well, I had some issues with my bank card during the payment and they very kindly helped me double check all payments. The bathroom supplies were very good quality, bunk bed felt sturdy and safe and came with a handrail. Room was extremely spacious. There were bus stops, Gojo train station and a really nice affordable supermarket nearby.

As a tourist with luggage/ after a full day of sightseeing on foot, the 6-8 minute walk from the bus stop/ train stations into the building always felt a bit painful :'). (But of course that comes with its own perks of the neighbourhood being so serene and quiet and good sleep quality.)

The room was super clean and new, and the appliances were good. Tea bags available in the building were a good extra.

No information was shared at all before our arrival, so we had to figure out if we could drop our luggages there before check in by looking at old reviews and try to understand how it works. In the end, we could drop them even though there was no hotel staff because they have a self storage room, but it was not very smooth to understand if that was even possible.

Really easy access to our room (supplied with a code rather than a key) with plenty of amenities such as towels, soap, tea etc. Beautifully presented property only a short walk from the train station with plenty of shops close by (bike hire, family mart, local eateries).

Charging ports only located on one side of the double bed. TV only played free-to-air Japanese stations (no access to Netflix or ability to cast from phone to TV)

Wow what a great hotel. The room was beautiful, beds super comfortable, the lighting excellent, the shower incredible, the location super convenient, the staff super friendly. I would very much definitely come back give the chance!

The Internet worked very poorly. On some devices (android) it worked okay (speed was slower than our eSIM), but on Windows and iPad, the WiFi just wouldn't connect or stay connected. It connected perfectly fine from the lobby, but rarely ever worked from the room.

We had a spacious and comfortable room for a family of 5 - a double bed and 3 futons separated by a sliding door. We loved the design of the room. The hotel is in walking distance (20-30mins) to many of the sights, train station and shopping district in a quiet street with cute restaurants around. We arrived on a really warm day 1 hour before check-in time and were allowed to access the room at once. A great place to stay to explore Kyoto!

Staff were friendly and helpful, check in/out was super easy, and the room was super clean. What I really valued was the easy public transport access to all the sights we wanted to see in the city. Everything felt like a short walk and then a single bus ride away. There were also lots of restaurants we enjoyed in the area.

If you're taller than 5'5 or so, you may find that your head bumps into the top bunk if you sleep in the bottom bunk. The shower may also be too short for you if you're taller than 6ft.
