This stay felt like luxury on a budget! The accommodation was super clean! The staff were most friendly and helpful. The communal kitchen/lounge area had a relaxing vibe, lots of books to read and was generally a nice peaceful place to chill and eat. I used the ladies only powder/shower rooms and they were lush! I stayed in a private double room with my partner, plenty big for 2 with a little sink in the room and baggage space below the bed. Although it was busy with people arriving and leaving daily, it seemed there was never any noise. The location was lovely; on a safe and quiet street, family mart only a few meters away, 7-8 minutes walk from Shijo station and a great base to explore Kyoto. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here and I will definitely return if I’m back again ☺️

Nothing, all perfect!

Being able to drop off our luggage earlier than check in was very easy and convenient. The whole place was very clean- bathrooms had everything you need, and although they were shared they were never busy at all. It was convenient to have a sink in the room also. We were able to use the shelf above the bed to put our clothes etc, so we didn’t need to have our suitcases open on the floor. Nice and spacious dining area with big windows. We were able to bring food back to eat here when you just want a quick meal, or there are plenty of places to eat nearby.

I had enjoyed my stay in WeBase Hakata a couple of years ago, so from that positive experience I knew I would like visiting WeBase Kyoto as well. And I did! The staff were friendly and nice, and gave me good advice about some places I should see during my 8-day stay. I reserved a private room, and the bed was wonderfully large and comfortable. The shower facilities for women were nice and private. Everything was clean. There was a convenience store right around the corner whenever I needed a snack. WeBase Kyoto had a booklet in the lobby that recommended some good cafes and restaurants to eat at; I tried a few of them and indeed they were good!

This hotel was adorable. We enjoyed our stay and the staff was very friendly. It's close to subway and bus stations. The hostel also has a free breakfast and night snack (noodles). The toilet and shower was shared, but we had no issue because it was always kept clean. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash was always refilled. They also have a dryer and washer, but the only this that was a bit inconvenient was how there was no laundry powder/detergent. I wouldn't mind if we had to pay for it, but when we asked the staff they said they don't have it and we had to buy it fom the convenience store. That was a little inconvenient because the conevenience store only sell big sizes of laundry powder/detergent and we don't need a big size. I hope the hostel can provide laundry detergent/powder in the future since they already have the washing machine.

20 minute ish walk from the main kyoto station.. however only a short walk to a closer subway station. free brekky in the morning was nice and free tea and coffee to drink at any time. rooms are cleaned every day if you wish.. fresh sheets and towels

small cooking facilities but we managed showers are on the very bottom floor and the elevator is a tad slow

Breakfast was very basic but free and handy if you’re going out early or on a budget. The lounge was lovely to hang out in, shower rooms were amazing. Staff were helpful, Haruko especially made our stay very nice.

There is no detergent available in the laundry room so you must buy a box in the shop which is inconvenient. Our main issue was with the air conditioning in our room, we had constant issues with it turning off and found it very difficult to sleep during the night as our room was so hot. We had to go to reception every day to ask them to fix it and then it would happen again. This was very unfortunate as it would have been very comfortable otherwise.

Provided a small breakfast and even midnight ramen (cup ramen) which was very nice as well as free water and tea at lounge. Private room booked had good amenities provided and was big, clean, private and quiet, even though it was on 1ST floor and near elevators; loved the separation of toilet, shower and sink areas as it made access easy for what you need without disturbing your partner like my partner can be on the toilet while I can wash my hands in comparison to typical full bathrooms where all 3 would be locked behind one door.

Pillows could have been better; too flat and did not like that it's a beaded pillow as it's not comfortable. Bed may be a bit hard for some people, but I was fine with it since it was only for one night.

Very nice building, many options of bathrooms, including women-only powder room. Everything was very clean. Very kind staff!

We couldn't refill our bottles with the water filter (?) and there were no vegetarian breakfast options, though it would be extremely easy to arrange it (I asked if I could have an egg sandwich and an avocado sandwich, without meat, but they said I couldn't. The sets had already been arranged like that).

Absolutely outstanding and amazing place. As a lone traveller with two teenage boys, I felt so safe, warm and welcome at WeBase. The rooms were bright, clean and comfortable. The shared shower facilities I was at first worried about, but honestly, DO NOT BE WORRIED. They are like what you would find at a very expensive spa. So clearn, inviting and it never bothered me that I didn't have my own bedroom. Amazing free breakfast and ramen in the evening. We weren't a huge fan of the breakfast, but it was free and so we would not complain. Loved the complimentary umbrellas for use each day, plus all the free extras such as toothpastes. Honestly this place has to be seen. Would highly recommend.

Pillows we're so uncomfortable! Almost felt as if they had wood chippings in. Dryers don't work that well downstairs and so cost us quite a bit to run them. Please don't let rhis affect you going though. The place is amazing and can't wait to come back someday.

It is a modern hotel with wonderful bathrooms, common room and kitchen. They even provided breakfast, night snack and hot drinks for free. The staff was very nice and checked us in sooner because our room had been already cleaned. I liked the location of this place. I loved that we could leave our luggage in the basement till 9pm, had our own key and could come to pick it up anytime.

The only thing I can think of is that we had a double bed and shared one big blanket which we fought over:-)
