Great location. Located not far from Shijo station (Karasuma line). Very easy to commute from the Kyoto station (just 2 stops away). A good thing is that this section of subway line isn't very busy too, so it was really good for bringing luggages. The hotel's location is quite strategic with tons of convenient stores nearby to choose from (lawson, 7E, etc). You can even walk to the famous Nishiki Market from here (just a 5-10min walk--depending on your speed). Easy to get on subway and commute to famous sites. Check in process was a breeze and glad to have so many freebies to take to the room -- tea, shower towel, bath salt, amenities, etc. Room was superb and very comfy. Breakfast was great too with a variety of selection.

Perhaps the bathtub water outlet could be made better so that the water doesn't overflow out from the drainage area, causing a mini 'flood' in the bathroom floor

Problem with the washing machine, the dry cycle came out wringing wet and the front desk staff didn't know what to do about it except get us to pay more for drying, but very wet clothes take a lot of money

Whilst the room was small, it still contained a large double bed that was very comfortable, a separate bathroom with shower/bath and bidet seat, and a desk. The room was clean and the air conditioning freely available. Slippers and lounge clothes were provided inclusive of price and I was able to choose which single use amenities I wanted to take from reception. Location was very convenient for both getting to from arriving at Kyoto, being only a couple of stops along a metro line and only a few minutes’ walk from that station, and getting out and about for visits and days out; Gion is a ten minute walk, the train was easy to get to and Kyoto station for transfers is a short ride away, and there is a 7-11 just up the road from the reception for essentials shopping. Staff on the desk were friendly and spoke English well. Food in the restaurant/buffet at breakfasts was very nice. The coin operated laundrette was cheap and easy to use.

Great location. The size was comfortable for our group. Cleaning service was prompt and always on time. Hotel staff accommodating and always present. Very formal and tidy. Particularly enjoyed the beer garden on the 4th floor. The laundry washing machine was used twice during our stay. There are plenty of machines to use and easy to operate. Never ate breakfast or dinner at the hotel restaurant, but the smells and atmosphere made it seem like it was a fantastic place to sit and relax for a meal and drink. A short walk away to the metro and even shorter to the Nishiki Markets. Only 20 minutes walk to major temple attraction, Kyoto station, and gardens.

Nice place to stay, between the main train station and the main shopping street in Kyoto. Our bed was huge and the room was very spacious with all you need. The staff was really friendly and helped us a lot with all we needed. The hotel has an open terrace where you can sit and chill if the weather allows it. The suburb is nice and peaceful. The subway station is a 10 min walk so if you want to use public transportation I suggest you use the bus, but Kyoto is a beautiful place to walk.

The breakfast room was really small with small tables and paper plates, but this is because they are renovating the old one. Also, the offer was modest with more Asian food than European. Also, the view from our room was to the building next to so that was not something special.

The hotel is pretty nice, the facilities look new, clean and modern. We had a 2 twin bedroom room and it was comfortable because they were together so made a huge comfortable bed. The bathroom space was ok, obviously not big but for japan I think it was good.

The location what was I didn't love. Yes we had a metro station nearby, like 5 min walking, but to go to the Gion area you had to walk for a long time. I would stay in another hotel closer to the main attractions and gion area. The space was very tight, it was difficult with big lugagges. The view was not great.

Very strategic location, as it near to subway station and a lot good restaurants. Near to anywhere by walk, subway, taxi and bus. Very clean.

They don’t provide a mineral water inside the room. We have to buy it on the vending machine (cheaper than the one in store, it’s 100 JPY for one bottle). One night when their vending machine’s water was out of stock, I called the receptionist and asked them any solution for this problem. The male receptionist said I can buy it in the reception desk on the 1st floor, he claimed that he couldn’t assist to go up and bring it to my room. And the bottle water they sell in reception desk is smaller than the one in the vending machine with the same price.

Short walk to Shiju Station, has a great lil restaurant next door (must try), the bathroom facilities of the room were amazing - really powerful shower and high tech toilet. Airconditioning & cleanliness was good as well. Easy checkin & checkout process. Friendly staff.

The breakfast was decent but maybe add cereals to the menu. Cereals are normally on every other hotel breakfast menu. The bed also could be more comfy (personal opinion - i prefer a softer mattress, this was bit firm).

Good location.  Easy to get to, taking the  Karasuma Line from platform 2 of Kyoto Station to Shijo Station, then a short walk.  The room had a long desk/counter, with two chairs.  There was a open 3' by 5' space that was great for storing luggage. The first floor room we had was near the front desk and noisy, and the room was dark, not getting much light through the window, almost like a basement.  We asked to move to a higher floor.  The hotel staff was very accommodating, and we were very pleased with the change.

The walls were showing their age, with scratches  and scuffs from baggage.  There was a high step up into the bathroom.
