Extremely convenient location for using public transport around Kyoto - both buses and trains. Also numerous convenience stores within a very short walk. It was adequate size, very clean and well maintained and the staff tried to be very helpful. Other than English communications there was absolutely nothing to fault.
Staff were polite and friendly and tried to be very helpful, but most had only a very rudimentary knowledge of English. This was very common in our tourist hotel experiences in Japan, not just here. It would be perfectly understandable if the client groups were Japanese but in most hotels we experienced nearly all the guests could use English to get by. Best to be prepared and familiarise yourself with a translation device.

For the price, you are getting a lot! It’s clean, they don’t charge you for extra towels or amenities. They cut costs by cleaning once every 4 days which is perfectly reasonable for the price. The beds have space under them to store luggage which I thought was a really neat touch. Smart TV means you can watch your Netflix and the wifi was really good. Short walk to the bus station and metro as well as a lot of convenience stores. Also, if you feel like walking, you can walk to Nishiki market in 30 minutes (one street the whole way).
The max volume on the TV was controlled at 35 which was really annoying because I could barely hear it. Also, I would’ve preferred they had bins on every floor to put extra rubbish. The aircon in our room was at the front and I barely felt it where the bed was.

It was on a quiet street near a main transit station. There were many attractions, and places to eat within walking distance. There was a drink station with fresh cold water, and a sweet juice available in the lobby. The lobby was welcoming, with table seating, comfortable lounge seating and several small tables with chairs on a patio off of the lobby. The room had amenities, but was small for 4 adults. Bathroom was small, but the facilities were good.
There was nothing that I did not like.

Room was big and clean. Beds were comfy and room was quiet at night. We were able to leave our lugagge first thing to explore the city and checkout later. Location is good, as it feels in the center of the city. Convenient to get direct buses to Kinkaku-ji and Arashiyama. But a little bit of a walk (around 30/40min to the river)
The bathroom tap was a bit odd to use, especially when sharing the bathroom. There were only two washing machines and dryers available for the entire hotel, and since most guests do laundry in the evening, we had to wait quite a while to use them.

The room is quite big for Japan standarts, I could open my suitcase without any problems. Bed is confortable and the tv is modern so you can watch streaming or youtube. Good location, 4 minutes away from Omiya train station and there are many kombinis near by. As they don't offer breakfast, I suggest you go to Coffee Shop Bogota, a 6 minutes walk from the hotel. REALLY cheap and delicious food, you won't regret it.
Mainly, the bathroom could be better. The shower would switch temperature out of the blue, which felt pretty bad. The curtains would get quite wet because the shower holder had an odd angle.

location - with 20+ bus routes in few minutes walk and reach most of the tourist areas in 30 minutes! Room - a small couch for 2 and good lighting for reading lobby - large sitting area with many travel books You can pick up the consumables at the lobby. ie comb and tooth bush, etc. They sell travel passes at the reception Few minutes walk to Fresco, a medium sized supermarket with many cooked foods!
they charge JPY400/day on top of the payment to booking.com (May be the agreement between the hotel and booking.com) The cost should be stayed on the web site rather than something like ... may be charge....)

Some people comment on the hotel room being very small, however it is a business hotel, it was made for sleeping and not for tourists with large suitcases (my opinion - and I was a tourist with a 23kg suitcase), in addition, in general, the hotel rooms in Japan are small. Even so, I thought it was totally worth it. The hotel is close to Omiya station - exiting via exit 3 which has an elevator to the street (but does not have an elevator from the platform to the entrance), Shijo Omiya and Shijo Horikawa are also nearby bus stations that provides access to various locations in the city. The staff is attentive, the hotel has a Yamato service to send bags to other hotels or airports. Note that for Narita airport it must be sent at least 2 days in advance. Replaces water and tea in the room and has a water filter in the lobby. There's a electric kettle to heat water. Konbini (convenience store) close by, 7Eleven and Family Mart 200m away. An observation that may be important for Westerners is that the bathroom is small, you take a shower inside the hot tub. As for cleaning, the towels are changed and the trash is removed every day, but (if I'm not mistaken) the room is vacuumed and the bathroom is cleaned every 3 days.
Laundry. 2 washers and 2 dryers on the second floor. The washing machine is small, I don't remember the amount charged. The dryer seems even smaller, it is recommended to place only 5 t-shirts to dry. If you have a lot of clothes to wash, it might be better to look for a coin laundry nearby.

This is a nice hotel to stay for a couple of night in Kyoto. You might need to make some transfer if you are coming from Kyoto station. But, its very well located to access Arashiyama and downtown. The bed is ok and the room is a bit small but you can make it work. The bathroom is small so you will have to be strategic in how you move around and store things. It has laundry so that was very convenient. Bring cash because i dont know if this is a think in Kyoto or not, but this hotel requires you to pay the Kyoto tax in cash.
Nothing specific. It is a good hotel for what you pay and you get what you expect from it.

This is a great stay, great location and great facility with super price 👍 strongly recommend, good quality and new. The check in and check out process went smoothly, room is very clean with ok space. The bathroom is with bathtub (my favorite part) and shampoo and shower gel are all herbal smell. I forgot to bring teeth brush but you can get all including pajama in the lobby. There is a room where provides hot water, microwave and ice at first floor. Wifi is quick. My family is very satisfy with this hotel. Turn left you can go to Gion and the department store area, turn right you can go to bus stop and subway. Lots of cafe nearby and 7-11 is at the corner. If you take taxi from Kyoto station it cost around ¥1600 and it takes within 10 mins. This is a pleasant stay.

First, let's start with the location - for me, it ticked all the boxes; fairly centrally located making all the main sights within Kyoto a reasonably equal travel time; it's only slightly away from an arterial road, giving both the convenience of good bus stops within a short walk (the best way to get around the city), all the while avoiding the noise of the cars at night (I prefer silence); in addition to the bus stops, it's proximity to Omiya and Shijo-Omiya stations means you've got cheap local trains that go directly to Osaka and Arashiyama respectively. Now the hotel itself - it was immaculate, the staff were lovely and the added perk of two water bottles being provided in the fridge (and kept in supply by housekeeping) was a welcome bonus. As a solo traveller the room was delightfully comfortable and reminded me of university dorm rooms. I do understand why some couples may find it a little crampt for their liking, but I must point out that there is plenty of storage space under the beds so tripping over suitcases can be avoided. In summary, this hotel is a convenient base of operations for exploring the nearby areas - it represents efficiency and economical comfort, but not luxury. I'd happily return should I get the opportunity to visit Kyoto again.
The prices of the vending machine were slightly inflated compared to what you'd find on the street, in a train station or shopping complex. That being said, with the regular supply of water and convenience stores within a short walk, it was only a tiny nuisance (I hate paying more than I should do...).
