Staff is beyond first class. They are helpful, proactive and very kind. They were so helpful when one of our kid's was injured. They called around and made an appointment for us on a Sunday, when most places were closed. We didn't ask them to do this, they took it upon themselves. They located a wheelchair for us at another Mimaru, which they let us borrow for free for the duration of our stay. They even offered to swap crutches with us, when we couldnt find a matching pair after looking for one at 3 different locations. I can't thank the staff enough for all their help. Room was beautiful. Washing machine works very well, including the dryer setting.

Wasn't a problem for me because I always wear one, but you might want to bring an eye mask because the morning sun is bright and there are no curtains per se, just the traditional paper/wood screens.

My stay at this hotel in Kyoto was exceptional—truly the best hotel experience I’ve had in Japan! The rooms were incredibly spacious and thoughtfully equipped, featuring a washing machine and dryer, a fully functional kitchen, and even a traditional tatami area that added an authentic touch to the stay. Everything was impeccably clean, and the staff went above and beyond to make our visit enjoyable. They were incredibly friendly and helpful, even assisting us with luggage transfer services to our next hotel, which made traveling so much easier. They also provided us with helpful guides to explore Kyoto, which was a thoughtful gesture. I’ll definitely choose Mimaru Hotels again for future stays. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Japan!

The room was very clean and nice. Once the sleeping mats are down, there is not much room to walk around and hard to get to dining table. The staff are incredibly helpful and informative. The location is great, easy to walk to Gion, Nishiki market. The inroom washer/ dryer is great.

Its a bit of a walk to some subway lines. The bathroom set up is a mostly good, excepting the shower door is clear and backs on to main bathroom so that noone else can use the sink and would have to walk past the clear door to use the toilet.

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful, though provided generic responses to questions like recommendation to restaurants. Bathroom and laundry facilities were clean and spacious. The washing machine, dryer allowed us to catch up on some washing during our trip. The room was sizable, and the beds were comfortable and soft.

The location felt a little out of the way for public transport. While there was a bus stop out the front, the trains in Kyoto were a little hard to access from this location and we ended up using Taxi's / Uber's.

The rooms were spacious for 5 of us and the location was near convenient bus stops. The staff was the star as they were so friendly and helpful. They spent a lot of time helping us find a place for our large group to eat and we were so appreciative.

Everything was wonderful but the air conditioning in our room was a little weak. We were travelling with family who had 2 other rooms on the same floor and their AC was ice cold! I think it was just our room but they kindly came and looked at it and said it was working. It was, but it just didn't get very cold so made sleeping mildly less comfortable.

Great location and great facilities for a family. We stayed here for 4 nights. Buses were easy to catch on the street. The nearest train station is 10 mins walk. The room itself is spacious enough for a family of 4. We got the room with the bunkbeds. The bedroom is separated from the living area. They have games for the kids. There is a bingo game for the kids to earn a reward. The staff all spoke English and were very helpful. Highly recommend for families.

Need more hooks to hang towels and jackets

Absolutely loved this hotel and the room; it was sparkling clean, cosy and with beautiful Japanese style interior design and furnishings which added a lot to the experience and made us feel like home. The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful and went the extra mile all the time; we are very grateful for their help throughout our stay. The hotel itself is conveniently located with a number of bus stops within walking distance and there are train stations nearby as well where you can easily top up your public transport cards; it's very easy to get to all of the main attractions of the city thanks to accessible public transport and central location in an area of downtown that was not too busy and crowded. The much busier Sanjo and Shijo streets with their shopping areas are within walking distance. Train station is a 15-20 min bus ride away and the bus stop is very close to the hotel so there was no need to order a taxi.

Booked a connecting family room for our family of 8 (with 2 young kids). The staff were kind enough to allow us to check in earlier, and they had a kid friendly bingo game where children had to perform certain tasks for a token coin to get a gift. The service apartment amenities came in handy as we had to cook for young children. The bedding was also comfortable. The staff were also very accommodating and friendly. Room was pretty clean, didn’t spot any part that was dusty. The children rated it their favourite accommodation out of the few hotels we stayed in.

The size of the room, was a bit small. But I guess that’s the case with most Japanese accommodation. The convenience stores and the supermarkets, was a shot distance away and not right at the doorstep, so with inclement weather it might be a bit difficult to get to.

This is a no nonsense apartment with an awesome Japanese style bath, simple but highly functional kitchen and functional dining/futon bedroom to accommodate up to 5 people. We stayed here for 5 days and found the staff incredibly kind and helpful. The hotel is a few block walk from subway stations so if you are up for that then its great. We often walked to the trains in the morning and cabbed it back in the evenings for convenience. The shoji doors and tatami mats made it feel truly Japanese.

The facilities are bare bones but you can ask for a number of items for free from the front desk like a toaster oven and an apple TV to stream services etc which helped. The view was of a neighborhood's roofs and was nothing special.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the apartments with our small children. The apartment beautiful, clean and equipped with everything we needed, including a washer/dryer. The staff change the bins and towels daily which is super convenient, and cleaned the floor and made the beds halfway during the week. The front desk staff were super nice and helpful. Location was good, and there is a bus stop just a few meters away. I would highly recommend!
