I was thoroughly impressed with how classy and proffessional the staff were. They were polite whenever I needed assistance, greeted me warmly whenever I passed the reception, helpful when I needed assistance with delivering my luggage to the next hotel and quite clear when they gave me the guidelines for my stay when I checked in. The really cool facilities in the hotel were the laundry area, vending machine and macha tea station. The breakfast was the same but healthy, filling and traditonal - exactly what I wanted in a foreign country whose culture I want to learn. The room I stayed in was spacious with enough space to keep my two large suitcases. On the same street you will find a restuarant and 7/11 shop. Just around the corner there is a bar with a friendly host. The bus is the main way to move around Kyoto and fortunately there are two bus stops on the street of the hotel. The biggest highlight for me was the in-house manga library! Not enough English manga but you will enjoy Demon Slayer during your stay.

I looove this hotel soooo much! Room was decent size for one, with enough space to open up your luggage at a corner and still have room to walk around. Toilet was clean and all things were working well. Cleaners were always on time and diligent. Free drinks and free comic book rental at level one. There's an English manga corner too! Air-conditioning works well, has everything you need in the room, just can't think of annny flaws this hotel has! Super convenient location as well, less than 5 minutes walk from Nijo Castle and Nijojo-mae Station. There are bus stops right outside and opposite the hotel too to head to the popular Yasaka-jinja Shrine. Location feels suuuper safe for a solo female traveller like me too! I can't wait to come back to Japan and book another stay here!!

This place was great! The staff were really friendly, it was nice and clean and well appointed, with lots of free amenities for guests. Being able to take the comic books up to bed was awesome too. They also had a free coffee/soda station to help yourself too. Location-wise, it was right next to a shopping street, near Nijō Castle also, and about a 20 minute walk from Nishiki Market, so perfect for me.

The only thing I didn't like was that the bed was very solid, so if you like an extra firm bed this is the place for you, but if you like sinking into your mattress then look elsewhere. I didn't wake up aching, but it did take a while to fall asleep because of this.

The room had a great view that overlooks the city. The room was extremely clean and comfortable as well. I like that there are quite a selection of comic books that you can bring into the room. The breakfast was simple but yet satisfying to start the day. The staff accommodated to my request for a room at a higher floor.

Nothing in particular. It was a very good stay.

A bus stop, a train station and Nijo Castle are all within a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is nice and clean. The view from the rooftop is nice. The stuff didn't speak english very well, but we were able to communicate with a translation app. They were very friendly and helped me sending my bags to the next hotel and find a Sento close by, that is tattoo friendly. The room is very nice. More spacious then the other rooms I stayed at on Japan.

It is a little uncomfortable that the AC is blasting right onto the bed. But I got the last room at the end of the floor which was L-shaped. The bed was harder then the tatami floor I slept on some days before. Not very comfortable.

I really liked the location (close to the Nijo castle, metro still within walking distance and many grocery shops are very close), easy check-in and check-out, the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness, the mini-kitchen in the lobby and the little toiletries always available. The manga collection is also fascinating - unfortunately I didn't have time to read it.

I would like to check-in earlier, but I'm still grateful that I was able to leave my luggage there and go exploring in the meantime.

I appreciate they offer manga in English and you can borrow the books and take them to your room. We loved the rooftop! The room was spacious and nicely furnished. Lot's of eating options nearby and close to metro. Staff was very nice to us. They offer japanese style breakfast only, my boyfriend liked it but if you are staying for many days it can get very same.

The room was very dark because the window was directly facing an opposite building. If this is a problem with you, better to check with hotel beforehand what type of view your room will have. Somebody from cleaning took my glasses and put them upside down on the glass directly on scissors, that was rather careless as it could scratch the glass.

I absolutely loved my four night stay here. This hotel is two blocks from the Nijo Castle. Public transportation is nearby too. There are restaurants, convenience stores and coffee shops all around. The hotel serves a delicious complimentary bento box breakfast. The rooms have all the amenities needed. There’s even a wash/dry machine for your laundry!! Bikasu at the concierge desk was extremely helpful and kind. I highly recommend this hotel.

I took a phone call in the lobby and the man in the front desk kicked me out even when I was quiet and respectful and at the same time there was a really loud family sitting right next to me, when I asked him why only me and why the family can be this loud he nod his head and told me to get out again. I do have to say that there was another front desk employee that was really nice and helped us reserve a sit at a restaurant.

The hotel is close to a metro station, buses pass in front and 15 minutes walking there is the Nijo JR station. It is well connected despite not being in Kyoto center. The staff was very friendly and checkin was easy. You can borrow books to read in the room. The room was small but with enough space to open the suitcase and with a table and a sofa to have tea. The bathroom was good and clean. The neighborhood is very quiet at night and there are few restaurants but on the corner there is a Lawson and a 7eleven.

The breakfast is a good Bento style but a little repetitive if you stay many days. They could have more Mangas in English
