The location was within walking distance from the Kyoto train station and many of the temples and gardens, making it a very convenient stay. Easy access to busses . We loved our studio room with extra space for sitting and eating. The kitchenette was well appointed and had everything you needed to make a meal. There were lots of restaurants close by including Nishiki Market. 711 was just across the street. The staff were very helpful and polite. Our room felt exceptionally clean. Hotel was very quiet. We definitely plan to stay again when we are in Kyoto.

Really wished the breakfast offered more Japanese food. It was mainly western style.

Staff was friendly. Location was very near to Gojo subway exit 1. Only thing is there's no lift if you are carrying heavy luggages at exit 1. Use exit 6 where there's a lift at the diagonal opposite of Citadines. Then walk across. Three washing machines and three dryers. However one very inconsiderate took out my laundry before the dryer cycle ended. Horrible guest attitude which is not the hotel's fault. Everything is clean and there's daily housekeeping unless you choose not by hanging "do not disturb" sign. Check-in was a breeze and my luggages were brought to my room after I spent the day outside. Only had to correct my room key and head straight to the room. Shower pressure is strong and there's sufficient hot water. All's good versus the the other hotel I stayed in Osaka.

The pillow was so very soft that it offered no support. Breakfast is the same everyday. Booked a room with balcony hoping to have a little more space and to get some fresh winter wind. Unfortunately, the door only opens up 10cm wide. The balcony was a wasted space.

From the welcoming entry, to the friendly and English-proficient staff; this hotel was a fantastic change of (s)pace from shoebox hotels I had stayed in at Osaka + Hiroshima just days before. Right next to Gojo station and offering generously spacious rooms with a kitchenette, large bed, youtube/netflix compatible tv and a sizable bath - I had a wonderful stay at Citadines Kyoto!

The included breakfast was a small + standard Western style buffet, which wasn't quite for me, but I was happy to explore the area for alternative brekkie options. :)

This was our third stay at this property as it is well located and has a lot of in-room facilities such as kitchenette, ironing boards, spaces to sit and eat and good cupboard space which was important for us as we were in Japan for a month and Kyoto for five nights. There is a supermarket up the road and it is very close to a subway stop. It was clean and comfortable.

However, we were surprised on this trip at the general wear and tear on the room. We first stayed here in 2012 and we don't think anything has been updated since then. We have stayed in many Citadines properties across the world. The television was very old and did not have English channels (surprising as it did previously and for a global brand) nor could support a USB. Some of the furniture and carpet were showing their age and use. There are now other chains such as Tokyu Stay that offer most of these features that were more up to date. All that said we enjoyed our stay here and the staff were very helpful.

Good size studio with everything you need for basic self catering. Really comfortable beds and pillow! A smart TV so you can catch up with Netflix or do some research on YouTube. Staff were welcoming and very helpful with lots of information about what to do nearby. Several dining options nearby from fast food to local casual spots. 2 mins walk to Gojo subway stop - 1 or 2 stops to the main shopping area although we walked it most days in about 17minutes. 10 minutes walk to Kyoto Station. Also a number of bus stops nearby.

The location is great - close enough to the central station and to the city center, there is also a subway station and several convenience stores right nearby. The rooms is cozy, fresh and super clean, stocked with everything that you might need (although a little short on kitchen appliances and kitchen towels, if you intend to use the kitchen often). The personal was always extremely polite and helpful. Everybody speaks fluent English with no problem, but they were also kind and patient enough to speak with me in Japanese despite my beginner's level.

Breakfast was 3/5 - the food is fresh and tasty, but very limited in variety.

We had a studio room for 5 nights, it was really comfortable and pretty spacious given the fact we had relatively big luggage. Reception desk extraordinarily kind and very helpful. Washing machines ready to be used at the basement, iron in the room. No issues either with wifi or anything else - definitely enjoyed our stay there and would recommend this facility and staff to anyone.

We encountered probably temporary issue with cleaning service (or misunderstanding when we wanted it and when not), but nothing much to report or complain on it (given length of our stay; you can always request the cleaning) - I am sure reception desk would act upon notice.

The room size is quite big comparing to other japanese hotels. Supermarket is just 2 mins walk from the hotel so we can cook in the room because room is well equipped with all kitchen amenities and utensils. Price of room is attractive and reasonable. There are 7/11 and lawson nearby the hotel within walking distance. Gojo station is just in front of the hotel.

They provide car park but make sure your car's height is less than 1.5 or 1.4m, which means that it must be a very small car. Since my car's height is over, so I need to park at public parking nearby the hotel. However, hotel will advise which public parking is closed to the hotel.

location very ideal for being near the centre of Kyoto only 1 stop on the subway which the station is less than 10 steps from the hotels front door. Nice size room with balcony and an area bigger than other hotel rooms and with enough cooking facilities to be self sufficient when wanting a night in or even to prepare breakfast.

pillow were very uncomfortable as where they didn’t have and filling and only one given, although it was granted when I asked for another. it was great to have a balcony but with that the noise was very loud from the main road just outside. no usb ports in room which I feel needs addressing as many hotels supply these now and would help when charging many items with overseas adaptors.

It was great to have a spacious room after our stay in a small room in Tokyo. The hotel is 15 mins walking distance from Kyoto station and just about a min away from Gojo station. So a great location. We walked towards Gion as well, so really enjoyed the location. The staff at the hotel was very friendly, helpful and warm.

Rooms need a bit of an upgrade especially carpets, sofas, lighting in the bathroom, etc. Smoking area is closed in the morning and an alternative would be great.
