Unbeatably Convenient - 4 mins from the subway and walkable destine to tourist spots. Extremely polite and helpful staff - I am impressed by the service they can lend power adaptor and umbrellas for free so it's extra handy for tourists. Also I love the washer dryers, water refilling fountain and vending machines inside :) Everyone is lovely!

I think the hot water in the spa can be little bit warmer so as to make it more comfortable. Also sometimes the other hotel users are not following the rules in spa (like using phones and talking loudly) but there is not any staff in the spa area so there is no one 'monitor' or guide the other users. It's completely not the fault of the hotel but can be something to improve.

+very convinient location, close to the metro or by walk to the city, safe area +kind and helpful staff +everything was clean and functional +big room with a street view, very quiet, large comfortable beds, lot of storage place, seating area +great breakfast with everything we needed, we especially enjoyed the salad bar (fish would be nice, but no complains) +a lot of toiletries available, free rental equipment and pajamas +TV where you can check the availability of washing mashines and dryers (on each odd floor) and the occupation of the spa and breakfast hall +vending mashines downstairs and free drinking water on each floor +elegant free spa area with separate f/m access is a good place to rest after a long walking around Kyoto´s amazing sights We didn't expect such quality for a very pleasant price (compared to Europe), but we soon found out that in Japan it's like that with almost everything. We hope to come back soon! <3

The staff at the reception was not able to communicate in English Breakfast was quite boring, with the same stuff every day and little variety. Lamentably almost no fruit at all...

Very nice stay with perfect location near Kyoto station (~10min walk). To Gion about 20-30 min walking. In room you can find everything you need: comfortable beds, pajamas, oral care products, razor disposables, etc. Definitely can recommend this place for staying in Kyoto.

I take off 1 point only because of prohibition to visit public bath to people with tattoos. It's 21th century and there a lot of people with tattoos, especially among tourist from Europe/USA/Russia, come on

The staff were extremely friendly and professional throughout the entire hotel. I was surprised that the size of the bedroom exceeded my expectations, providing ample space and comfort. Housekeeping ensured the bedroom was always spotlessly cleaned and refreshed promptly when I returned each day. The facilities were also maintained to a high standard, particularly the spotlessly clean public bath, which was truly relaxing to use after long days of walking around Kyoto. Finally, the close proximity to the subway line and bus stops made getting around to the sites convenient. Would recommend staying here!

The staff and service at the breakfast restaurant were truly top-notch and extremely friendly, making every morning a pleasure. The food overall tasted delicious and fresh, and the quality of the international items provided was high. However, I did feel the dining experience lacked necessary variety. The offerings remained the same each day throughout my stay, which made breakfast feel repetitive. Given that the hotel is located in Japan, it would be a significant enhancement to incorporate more Japanese offerings into the buffet rotation, allowing guests to enjoy the local cuisine and adding a much-needed daily variation. A focus on regional, rotating specialties would truly elevate the breakfast service.

The people working at the hotel we're really nice. They said hello every day and the breakfast was good even though it didn't look good it tasted good. The yogurt was fantastic. Our rooms were clean and didn't smell bad. They helped us with luggage tranfer after checkout and it went smooth. The hotel is very central and still we didn't hear the traffic or anyone else. 6min walk to karasuma line that takes 2min to go to kyoto Central Station. We had buss stopps close by, a familymart beside the hotel and very beautiful inner streets that you could walk to different cafes and restaurants.

Some of the cleaningstaff didn't smell good. And sometimes when they cleaned our room thier own smell lingered. The washing service was hard to use because of luandry machines being used all the time. There is no booking system and drying takes ages so it's not a wonder why they are used so often. The slippers we got smelled bad. And I got a bad odor on my feet's after using them, so smell them before using.

We booked two rooms, a comfort twin room and a double room. We loved the location, the simplicity of the process, facilities. Good breakfast.

All double rooms have frosted windows, which is a bit hard to bear while the price difference was not that high between the two rooms. In principle clean - what could be improved: dust off the air conditioning grids, scrub the margins of the plastic stools in the onsen. Breakfast was a bit too expensive but it does offer a wide choice. Washing machines are all the time busy, we actually woke up at 5am to be able to wash our clothes.

Eveything! The location is perfect, the rooms are stylish and very comfortable (amazing pillows!!), and we really enjoyed the onsen :) There’s water dispensers and washing+drying machines which are very convenient. We also appreciated the fact that they kept our luggage before check-in and after check-out. All in all a great value for money. We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel because we found it too expensive (2200¥ per person) - maybe it would have been cheaper when booked together with the room? But we managed with the nearby shops such as Caffe Veloce, Hollys and Family mart.

Location is decent, 10 minutes from Shijo Station and 6 minutes from Gojo Station. The onsen in the hotel is small but comfortable, water is around 38-40 degrees. The room is simple but clean and modern. Amenities given in the room are also nice. Familymart is also conveniently 1 minute away.

The location is a bit awkward between the 2 stations to its north and south. There is also only really 1 bus stop that stops within 5 minutes of the hotel, so expect a bit of walking. The laundry room is only 2 machines for the entire building, so sometimes theres a wait to wash your clothes.

We stayed at Kyoto Karasuma-Gojo as a family and booked three rooms: two twins for our kids and a double for us. We were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the rooms and beds, which is generous for Japanese standards. The bathroom was also large and very well equipped, with slippers, yukata, extra towels for the onsen, and more thoughtful details. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, assisting us with taxis, luggage forwarding to our next hotel, and providing useful tourist information. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide variety of both Asian and Western options. Overall, a very comfortable and welcoming stay — highly recommended for families visiting Kyoto.
