This review is written after our entire trip to Japan. This place is the best value for money for us for our entire Japan trip. We also loved that there is a nice and quaint river on the path to get to the hotel. Location is very close to bus and train stations but is still in a quiet neighbourhood. Having said this though, during our time in Kyoto, we noticed a lot of available accommodation that we didn't see in Booking.com and I think there are quite a lot of options that are in even better locations.

During our stay, it rained on one of the days and we wanted to ask if we can use the umbrella at the reception area - given that it was in the morning and the reception is not manned at that time, we used the phone that was available to reach the reception. However, communication in English is quite difficult.

About 10 minutes walk away from the bustle of downtown or 1 metro stop (3 minute walk), it is a welcome oasis after the bustle. The Hotel sits on top of a good supermarket which stays open late and is near the inevitable 711. There are restaurants within 5 minutes. The big surprise is the lobby which has a very large work and relax area and a bar and restaurant. Much larger and much nicer than the photos. The rooms are also a good size for Japan. You can leave bags early and after check in which is great. Th restaurant is Italian and not bad but at the price you can do better elsewhere. There is too service but we didnt try it. We had a special deal so it was excellent value.

For a hotel that is not targeted to mass market, it was oddly stingy on standard (for Japan) items like toothbrush, sponge, lotions etc. Hard to believe that they charge Y300 for a toothbrush....The bar and restaurant are pricey (you can buy your own wine from the super and pay Y1000 corkage).

Great stay. The room was big and spacious for Japanese standards. The location was also quite good since it was 5 minutes from the nearest bus station and subway station. The surrounding area was also quite quiet. The staff was friendly, understanding, and helpful. The laundry coin machines were easy to use and located at the lobby. The bedroom was clean and comfortable too, and the hotel provided good pajamas and footwear for the room. The bathroom was divided into three different areas (toilet + mirror and common area + showering area with shower space and bathtub), which was very good. This was a great experience, and I would most likely stay here again if given the opportunity.

Great location in/ near Gion in quiet neighborhood. Konbini nearby, multiple bus stops close by. Walking distance to several large temples. Large room with microwave, kettle and fridge. Comfortable bed , large for Japanese standard.

Cleaning only every 6 days included, for additional cleaning you pay 2,000 yen (approx €12 ) additional. We were only staying for 2 nights, but anything more than 3 nights without cleaning is not acceptable for me. This is not a budget hotel, so why? For luggage keeping we had to transfer to the (main) buikding about 400 m away. Fortunately a good English explanation paper available.

The hotel and accommodations were simple but very nice. Very clean and in quiet neighborhood. The location was excellent. A short walk and you are in a charming small covered street with a handful of shops and restaurants. If you walk another few blocks you could be in the older historic quarter that was packed with shops and restaurants. Easy walking distance to the Yasaka Shrine. Highly recommend.

No complaints. The property was as expected. The price was a little bit high (for us) but it was during the height of cherry blossoms. Nice clean and quiet neighborhood.

the room was decently big (we had a shoebox in tokyo so this was considered big), very clean and modern looking. there are two hotel legastas, this one is further from the station whereas the other is just across the street. the toilet is a separate area from the sink and the shower which i liked, more hygienic! i really loved this toilet. staff were very nice as well. definitely not a big chain type of amenities but you have everything you need here if you are just using the room to sleep, rest and shower.

5 min walk from the station, if you want to leave luggage with the hotel you have to walk to the other branch closer to the station

Location of the hotel was fantastic. It’s tucked away in a quiet residential area however only a minute away from the nearest station. Walkable distance to sanjo if you don’t want to take public transport. Great Chinese restaurant next door and a good supermarket for food options too.

Aircon was leaking a bit from time to time so I just put the bin underneath to stop the water from going into the carpet. Staff forgot to change my bin one day even though I left it outside for them to take. The room doesn’t get cleaned everyday, only once every seven days so if you are a messy person probably not the best option.

The room was nice, comfortable, clean. Location was great, no more than 5 min from the nearest train or bus station and the area felt very safe and quiet so I didn’t mind wandering back to the hotel late at night.

The only mildly frustrating thing was the location we stayed at was often unstaffed. When we wanted to forward our luggage or had any questions or requests for the staff, we almost always had to walk to their main location. Thankfully it was only a 3-5 min walk so it was only a mild annoyance. I would happily stay here again.

This place was lovely!!! For the price, you get a really great sized room! A view of Kyoto (if you’re on the front side of the building.. unsure of back side) and really friendly staff! There is a washing machine and dryer available for 300 yen. The room was clean and air conditioned. It’s well located by a subway station, and not too far to walk from busy areas! Would highly recommend!

Not the worst problem but we arrived at 12:30pm and sadly didn’t realise that the place is unattended between 12-3pm so we had to roll our suitcases over to the other hotel LEGASTA nearby.. not too far but just something to bear in mind!

The room was very nice with everything you need for your stay! It was spacious even for three adults. The bathroom was very nice and the possibility to dry your clothes after washing them in the hotels laundry room was amazing! It was quite clean with a few dustbunnies here and there but overall very good! Definitely great value for the money! The location is just perfect! Walking distans to Yasaka Shrine, pontocho street and everything around there! Very pleased with the visit, highly recommend!

The beds were a bit hard but the pillow and duvet were amazing!
