The size of the room was excellent for 2, it was spacious and we were well-rested every night. There was a tatami mat area where we could chill at or have meals. The toilet and bathroom was clean as well. The bed was comfy though the bedsheets were a little scratchy. The air-conditioning was good and strong as well. There was also a coffee machine though we didn't use it.

The location could be better, we had to change lines once when we came from Kyoto JR station. We ended up taking a taxi to the JR station when we left, it cost about 2,500 yen for a near 30 minutes ride. The staff were helpful enough to help book a large black taxi for us.

Clean, spacious rooms. A welcome relief after staying in a tiny hotel room in Osaka. It has everything you need. Nespresso machine in the room so I could have an early coffee, and they refilled the pods for us (you don’t need to buy them). Coin laundry on the 1st floor meant we didn’t have to walk down to the one at the end of the street, I saw others had issues with smell but that seems to be fixed. Staff at reception very kind and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

The location was a tiny bit far to walk to the main area of Gion with a small child so we caught taxis a fair bit, although they are cheap so it didn’t really matter. If we were alone we would’ve walked as it’s only 10-20mins depending where you are going.

Don’t be fooled by the 3 star grading. It’s far better than many four or even five stars that I have stayed in big cities in Japan. It’s spacious, tastefully designed, sparkling clean and quiet. Its staff is efficient and helpful. All these locate in a central place of main tourism attractions of Kyoto, many of them are with walking distance. No breakfast is provided, but, with the Familymart two minutes away you get everything you need.

It has one laundry machine and if you don’t plan ahead, you might find it occupied. However, there are several coin operated laundry service nearby, so it’s not really a problem.

Exceptional! Everything about our stay was perfect. The location was quiet and residential, but with easy access to public transport and walks to temples, museums and the historic district. The BEST antique shop was just around the corner! As were cozy cafes, a French bakery, and yakitori...all non touristy and divine. Our room was spacious! Loved having the table for impromptu card games or meals if we were snacking from the family mart (shockingly good food...and a microwave is available in the lobby). Loved this hotel!

Honestly nothing. There was nowhere to hang up more than one towel. That was a tiny bit odd...but clearly not a deal breaker!

New building, very clean and very comfortable. Extremely tasteful decoration, large, beautiful and comfortable bedroom. Felt almost like a luxury hotel but much more affordable. Friendly and attentive staff. Convenient location near subway stations, a nice small shopping street and within walking distance from some of the main tourist attractions.

It did not bother me or my partner, but the hotel doesn't offer breakfast, which for some people might be a downside.

This is a great small hotel in a great location in the Gion area. Really clean and friendly helpful staff. Easy walk to transport. The room were huge which was a pleasant surprise for Japan. Would easily fit a family of 4. There are no facilities at the hotel e.g. cafe, restaurant etc but there are so many options within a 5 min walk. Also have a laundry which helps when travelling. Would definitely stay there again.

We loved the location, modern comfort and new facilities, very comfortable beds and bathroom plus lots of storage space and space in general, which is rare for Japanese accommodation.

No view from windows or access to a balcony or outdoor area to be able to sit in. Also the smokers area was located at the end of the hall on our level and unfortunately the smell from the smoke would sometimes infiltrate. The washer-drier does not work properly.

Location was excellent, it was in a quiet area just by the tourist spots, a few blocks away from a Metro station that easily got us everywhere. We really enjoyed walking along the nearby canal, very quaint and far from touristy, but with easy access to restaurants, shops, public transport, parks and temples. Nearby Maruyama Park and the Museum Complex were wonderful. Rooms are very spacious with a lot of amenities, and our toddler loved the tatami area. The rooms are very reasonably priced.

Our only thing was you'd have to request for garbage to be taken out. We don't mind the cleaning policy, but it seems quite a bit of a hassle to have to request for garbage collection since the staff hours start at 12pm. The staff themselves were super friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

The room was very spacious and finely decorated, with modular lights which was very convenient for us and let us change the atmosphere in the room. The hotel is located a bit off the main street of Kyoto, but not so far away. That way it was quiet and peacefull but just a short walk from the center. There is no breakfast, but it was fine since it gave us a chance to check the nice coffee places in the area. We highly reccomend it.

The reception is open only from noon until 8pm, which were houors we were usually out. Nevertheless we didn't have any problem to ask the staff for help in making reservation to restaurants via email, or to order a taxi.
