1.Great location 1200yen by taxi from Kyoto Station. Many bus stops and subway stations are nearby. 2.Reasonable price It's good for foreigners to try tatami-style rooms.Bathtub and toilet are separated in two small rooms. Everything is new and clean. 3.Helpful staff Front desk staffs come from different countries, such as Japan, Korea and India. Almost all of them can communicate in English and very pleased to help.

Some little problems to be improved: in the basement, microwave oven is not clean inside, water stand cannot offer hot water even through right way to use, and sometimes coffee machine is leaking because the coffee grounds box is full.

Clean, good size of room and we got all what we need. We recommend this hotel to other guests and will be back definitely.

We loved staying in this hotel in a traditional japanese room. The bed was really comfortable and in comparison with usually small japanese hotel rooms there was a lot of space during the day once we folded the beds. The bathroom was also great and we loved the selection of amenities we could pick from.

Just a small detail - we did not like that the toilet automatically played a sound which disturbed in the night and woke up other people in the room. In the end we had to plug off the toilet for the night but then we could not flush it. Not ideal :)

The location was great.Big Family mart also nearby. Free coffee,tea,water available. Room was modern with top facilities as usual.Net worked great.

The whole tatami experience it's really not for me as the bed was too thin.Luckily i had 2 beds so i used the second one to make one bed and then i slept good

Location location location. Such kind hosts. Appreciated the free creamer and sweetener packets plus other freebies they share in the lobby…much more than typical facilities at this level such as bath salts! Speaking of which, the big soaker tub was dreamy! Lots of hot water at good pressure was much appreciated.

Only thing I could think of was lack of microwave. I would have preferred a microwave taking up the space that the lockbox took up.

Very clean. Loved the futons and yutaka set. Good sized room. Comfortable stay and my best hotel so far in Japan. Would highly recommend and will book again on my return. Thank you to all the wonderful staff . The lady at the reception guided us through and even went the extra mile to help us. We felt so lucky to have stayed in this hotel.

Neat and clean room. Though the room wasn't very spacious, but it had enough space once you fold the mattress (tatami). Excellent location near downtown near shopping streets like teramachi. 5 min walk towards the river/canal nearby leads to nice cafes and restaurants.

the tatami mat room! so nice! and the restroom with separate bath and toilet and lavatory! we loved the shower area and the free bath salts!

too bad no free breakfast! the laundry is also expensive at ¥500 per load (some hotels offer ¥200 for wash and dry). also, just 2 washing machines and laundry takes 2hrs which is quite long.

The traditional Japanese room style was lovely. The space is big enough to open a 29-inches suitcase and the bathroom was nice too. Unlike other hotels, this place provide enough space in a room 👍🏻

Lovely, cozy hotel that feels both comfortable and luxurious, although very simple. Amazing value for money! Compared to many hotels I've been to around this range, the room looks nicer, feels nicer, and has good amenities. For those unfamiliar, the area is right around many of the shopping attractions in Kyoto (as well as Nishiki market), and a great place to hang out. There is also a convenience store very close by.

Nothing in particular sticks out as unpleasant, although I have to say the shower was a little weird to figure out (for some reason the handle, at least in my room, was outside the bathtub and pretty low, so bending to adjust the temperature was uncomfortable), but it was a very minor detail.
