The hotel is very clean and comfortable, it’s near famous restaurants and shopping streets.

Why does the staff of this hotel ask me to pay vat 800 yen in cash at hotel for stay 2 nights in Kyoto? I’m confused then I paid 800 yen in cash to him, even though I paid all booking by credit card with booking.com two months ago. The next day, I stayed for 3 nights at other hotel in Osaka with reservation by booking.com, the staff of that hotel doesn’t ask me to pay vat.

This is everything we needed for our 3-day stay. Guests are raving about the bathroom amenities and neither did it fail us. The hotel is in prime location, 5 minutes to Nikishi market, and a poetic street by the river; walkable distance to Gion, Kiyomizu, etc (<2km) and convenient public transporation. Yet it is on a quiet street with everything we need nearby. Shoutout to the staff for their respectful and thoughtful service. Thank you very much!

I liked how close the hotel is to the Teramachi mall and the Nishiki market. I also liked that the room has plenty of lighting options to read by. I loved the pillows. I’ve read that they are buckwheat husk pillows.

I didn’t like that it was difficult too find. I had thought that the annex meant it was attached to the main hotel, but it’s actually around the block at a different address. I also didn’t care for the breakfast. Their breakfast is a small box that you take to your room to eat. Our room had 1 chair for the two of us and a table that was too high to eat at. The boxed breakfast was very pretty with a green salad 1/2 hard cooked egg, mashed sweet potato a fish roll that was very fishy and two small, small 2” squares of French type bread. I thought is was 700 yen, but it actually turned out to be 1600 yen per person which I think is too much for what we got. It looked beautiful, but it’s not my taste for breakfast and it’s not easy to eat.

The hotel has an amazing location, close to public transport stations and also walkable distance from a lot of touristic points. Facilities were very nice and clean. Room was spacious, bed really comfortable and the shower was simply the best. They left us clean towels every day. There’re complimentary coffee, tea and amenities on the reception. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They helped us in everything we needed. I would definitely stay again.

Nice big rooms compared to Japan standard Rooms are clean and have daily house keeping Though they say there are no amenities they do offer tea/coffee, free water bar, ice machine, umbrella and ect..... The hotel is in a prime location close to the center of kyoto we rarelly took bus/train during our stay

The room was larger than Japanese standards, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and polite. I stayed in a total of 5 hotels in Japan, and I can say this was the best. It is also very close to the city center, and if you want to go out at night to eat, explore, or visit a convenience store, it’s very easy to do so.

Location. It's near bus stops and shopping area. A couple of small restaurants and cafes nearby too. The room is bigger than what you would normally get in Tokyo, so you have enough space for your luggage. Staff was helpful too when we tried to arrange for luggage delivery to Osaka.

Carpet needs more cleaning and a laundry would be a nice addition

This location was excellent in every way: close to fantastic restaurants, Noodle restaurants that had an hour line to get in, Nishiki Market always a grande experience, Takashimaya department store with high end everything, small antique stores across the street from Melia, and the Gion district was very close by. The hotel staff were very nice to us. The hotel room was charming and very clean and orderly. Overall an A+ !!

It was all perfect for us for the 6 nights we were there ! I will recommend the hotel to all of my friends and family.

Large room, very clean and an amazing location! The location itself is clean and quiet and close to conbini and coin laundry. From the hotel you can easily walk to shopping districts and the gion district. The bathroom was clean and comfortable. The bed is the biggest we had in Japan, and comfortable.

I don't like that the toilet automatically makes noise as soon as you sit down. But that is the only issue really.

It’s close to most things including attractions and public transport. it’s also incredibly clean and tidy.

the location could easily be miscommunicated to the taxi driver. just remember to quote to them the address given, not the hotel name as it is the Annex and too similar to their main one. the staff are capable but are also limited to what they are able to do. for example, they cannot make reservations for you for a restaurant as they would incur a fine should you fail to make the reservation. but with everything else like calling for a taxi and other expected tasks, they are more than happy to help.
