This is a brand-new hotel with very nice rooms, confortably equipped, all you need and could expect. The staff is is outstandingly kind and helpful, quite international - English conversation is no problem. The location is perfectly situated in the center of Kyoto - with a bike you get to most of the attractions of Kyoto within 15 min. E-scooters available at the door. The sister hotel (100m distance) offers a nice bar with good breakfast and the best coffee I have had in 2 weeks of travelling Japan.

I would have given this hotel a 10/10 points if the check-in procedure hadn't been quite awkward and time-consuming due to a kind of "over-digitalization". I was required to install a dedicated app (which had some deficencies like lack of copy-paste) to check in, then requested to up-load my passport and a selfie to an unknown institution (for me a data-security no-go). At the end the kind staff people helped out and did a conventional check-in. It took almost 1 hour for somethink that conventionally gets done in 3 min.

Location was really good in the heart of city downtown. The staff sometimes are not at front desk but easily we were able to reach them or call at the other closeby branches of kabin hotel. Great baggage storage after checkout. Place has an easy to use laundry dryer machine very useful. All the amenities are provided.

We had a change in our trip duration and we requested to modify our initial reservation a few days before our card gets charged to avoid paying extra for the night we were not going to be there. While our reservation was modifiable on booking.com the new rates would have been applied if we did it on our end. the hotel staff were not also able to make this modification unfortunately which was disappointing and we end up paying for that extra night. Booking help center did not respond to my requests and email for a week and even after that they did not get it fixed

The property is close to Kawaramachi and Nishiki Market, where super convenient for shopping and food hunting. Not far from the subway or the train station towards Osaka. The room is big enough to open 2 luggages at the same time, and the shower room is spacious and water pressure and temperature were in good condition, very stable! The staff are mostly non-locals with English proficiency, kind and hospitality. Great responsive rate whenever throwing a question via Booking. Though Koji is not 24HR staffed, there’re many other KABIN hotels nearby in walking distance that you can definitely leave your luggage earlier or later than the stays. Amazing free luggage storage space available!

We had an amazing stay at this hotel near Nishiki Market in Kyoto. The location couldn’t have been better – it’s just a short walk to the vibrant market, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and cultural sites nearby. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and offered all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay. One standout feature was the room size – it was much bigger than the typical hotel rooms you usually find in Japan, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home. We were truly impressed with the overall experience and the convenience of being in such a central location. We’ll definitely be booking this hotel again next time we visit Kyoto!

For long staying guests, if you want to use the washing machine, you have to go to their sister hotel just 2 mins walk. But not really of a hassle.

Loved the location, which was close to the train, nishiki markets, and the Gion area. Our room was clean, comfortable, and really well stocked with a handy, easy to use laundry on site. Modern design and a very comfortable bed.

The checkin process was fairly clunky and involved registering and paying on a computer despite there being someone at the front desk (who was helpful). This was slow and difficult as the way the payment was set up required my australian bank to send me a text for security approval before the payment could go through. As I didn't have my phone set up to accept calls and texts, this ended up with me having to pay an unnecessary and annoying $10 daily roaming fee to my Australian phone provider.

The location was central and amazing, cute cafes and restaurants around, Nishiki Market was within a 10min walking distance as well as the vintage shops. The hotel its self was super clean, had a really easy check in / check out procedure, fresh towels and amenities available 24/7 which was a huge bonus! There was also a laundromat right opposite where you could do washing and drying for really cheap! Also loved having a mini kitchenette in the lobby to heat up convenience store food, grab free cold water and chill and lounge if needed. Was also helpful knowing their sister hotel down the street was able to hold onto baggage if you had to check out early!

Loved the accommodation itself, especially the comfy bed! The overall facilities had a contemporary aesthetic.

The reception is only staffed between 1-10pm, however, we rarely saw someone actually sitting there. When we first arrived, we had to wait quite a while until someone came out. They don't use Yamato or Sagawa for luggage forwarding, but an exclusive partner with a limited network (aka you can't send your luggage through them if your next hotel isn't registered). Not sure why but the hallway on our floor level was set at an uncomfortably hot temperature. Wasn't a huge fan of having to download an app just to check in.

Room is clean, modern, and sleek. I walked in and felt like the place was new! Friendly and patient staff who took care of me even during app technical difficulties. My room doesn't really have a view, as windows are fogged due to Kyoto policy, but it lets in enough light to know it's daytime and otherwise the lighting in the room is good. Basics were achieved: * WiFi: Strong * Shower pressure: Strong

Check in can be a little confusing, as the app on my phone refuses to verify my passport, resorting to checking in with the device on premises. I ordered additional cleaning services in the app, but the front desk was unaware, which was a little funny because the cleaning services was actually done.

It’s nice, not your typical hotel. Very functional, neat, ,super clean. I liked it.

Staying here will add about 2000 steps to your day, as this is a quite a far from everything. There is no breakfast or restaurant so your morning starts with a pastry on the street. But the”re are good pastry shops within a few hundred meters. They said the ‘other’ Kabin hotel had a restaurant. But it’s not open. But the rooms are quiet and bed is pretty good.

Great location, quiet area but close to Gion and night-life if you want. Lovely new and clean hotel with friendly staff. Great shower

Pillows aweful, no kitchen facilities as advertised, was told I needed to request to use the kitchen... what for every meal? The power was not even connected yet. Check in difficult, download an app, upload passport! , then still no check in code on arrival. Had to wait for very pleasant and respectful staff member to help check us in. Cumbersome, needs streamlining.then even with the code we couldn't work put how to activate the door lock so we could use the key pad, could have been illustrated in the code email.
