・Cleanliness; Hotel itself, facilities and room are very new and really cleaned up. Especially common space, like reception, elevator, laundry space are really decent and clean. Bed is well bed-making, and amazingly bath tab and water tap is so cleaned up that there is not water stain. ・Good accessibility; The location is good. It's really easy to access to any tourist spots. Especially Shijo-Kawaramachi station, Kamo river, Gion area and Ponto district is within 5-15min walk distance

I'm really satisfied with it. If I had to say something, I would like to have more space to open and pack my suitcase but I don't have anything to complain about this hotel considering merits as above and reasonable price.

R&B Kyoto was situated right next to a popular street for restaurants and bars. Excellent choice if you enjoy nightlife. One nice thing the staff did was keep and refrigerate a milk I had just purchased before checkin and had forgotten on the checkin desk. They kept it for me and made sure to give it to me on my return. I was pleasantly surprised, and this kindness was appreciated. They also offer complimentary pajamas, which was a nice detail.

This is very small, but they don't store coffee or tea inside the rooms themselves. You have to get packets for making your morning drink in the lobby. A minor inconvenience, but I did not feel like I was looking well enough in the morning before my shower and bathroom routine and skipped having my morning coffee. Also, the room itself was pretty small as compared to the AirBnbs I had been staying at during my trip to Japan. I wasn't in the room much, but it was just enough space for a solo traveler. Having a couple stay in the room would be more of a problem with the limited space.

The staff are friendly. There isn't much varieity of choices in the break. I reserved for four breakfast. The food is in good quality. But In the end of my stay, I somewhat got tired of having the same things every morning. Perhaps there is no need to book more htan two breakfasts. The location is superb, very close to downtown for shopping and the traditional market. I would defintely stay again for next visits.

Location is good, very easy to find and close to attractions and stations. Room was spacious enough for a solo traveler, comfortable too. It goes with a bathtub! Although I didn’t get the chance to enjoy it, cos I was pretty knackered every day when I got back😮‍💨 Definitely should try it next time. Staff are multilingual and are all very nice. They were also able to let me leave my luggage there for several hours after I checked out. Great help!

Loved the location. Right behind hotel beautiful walking trail full of cherry blossoms lining a small canal that has lots of great restaurants and leads right to the Main Street you walk to for temple and Geisha. We saw several in the evening hours. So beautiful, but we took no pictures and respected their space, as that has been a problem with tourists.

Very good hotel, not expensive but in an excellent location. Close to the river and next to the small streets with hundreds of small restaurants and pubs. Subway Hankyu line is only a few minutes walk along the river, and from there you go all around Kyoto, or even straight to Osaka centre for 400 Yen. Gion is right at that same subway station. The room is quiet at night, the rooms are really soundproof. Brekfast is simple with some croissants and jam, buns, soups, granola, salads and coffee. Simple but not expensive. There is a Family Mart just across the street, and a small japanese bento lunch / dinner take away too. Reception staff is very friendly and helpful, but they dont speak much english (or other). We managed fine though :)

I agree with other reviewers: the room was just a bit too small. I could only get my old-style Samsonite suitcase to open when I paced it onto the bed itself. There is no space to open it anywhere else in the room. And I even was alone in a 2p room... :-S

Great location! The room, even if it was small, was comfortable and functional. I had views to the main street as well as to Gion and the backdrop mountains which was lovely. Friendly staff. Recommended

Great hotel in a great part of Kyoto. Walking distance to great cafes and lots of food options. Only a few minutes away from the Kamo River. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the check in / check out was easy. Rooms are on the smaller size but comfy and good value for money. Would recommend

The staff was very friendly and helpful and were able to communicate in English, which I really appreciated. The room had every facility you could need and the hotel was quiet and clean. Location is great and very central.
