Nice room with comfortable beds and bathroom. The hotel entrance is swish and they had a Maika dance exhibit in the evening.

The onsen wasn’t as great as some of the other places we have stayed in Japan. But the main issue was the location as it was a minimum 10 minute walk to any meaningfully useful station line. That might not sound like a lot but in the heat it really wasn’t great. It also meant we ended up walking everywhere because we would have had to walk 10 mins, catch a train and then walk another 7 minutes - when the whole distance could be covered in a 25 minute walk. So there was a lot of walking in the heat.

Convenient access to Teramachi Street. The facilities were superb, and the public bath was an incredible way to relax after a long day of walking. We really enjoyed the Japanese style rooms that were offered. It was also convenient to have a bath in the toilet that we could use if we didn't want to use the public bath. The staff were also very helpful, particularly with helping us to forward our luggage to our next hotel in Osaka.

It's a bit of a walk to the nearest station, especially with luggage, but still manageable.

The hotel was very well placed, in a calm street close to the hyper center of Kyoto. The rooms were very quiet and clean, and the service was excellent. They even have daily shows of "maiko" (similar to a geisha, but in training, and from Kyoto) in the lobby. In terms of facilities the hotel has everything you might need, including a traditional japanese bath (sento). Thank you very much to the hotel staff for their excellent service during our entire stay. We will definitely come again next time we visit Kyoto.

Nothing.

Location was optimal, despite it not being close to the main Shinkansen Station (Kyoto Station), it's within walkable distance to the Kyoto-Kawaramachi which is where the Osaka to Kyoto Garden Train left us. Within walkable distance to restaurants and shops, the Nishiki Market just a couple of streets away. Near the Kyoto Imperial Palace which is worthwhile seeing as well. The hotel is fabulous, it has its own onsen, they hire traditional performers to come and do shows in the lobby on certain days, well stocked bar and really helpful staff. Would definitely stay on again

Great location and good value. Close to lots of great shopping and food. We were there for over a week so we got pretty comfortable. They had a bunch of mini events which was nice. Live music for half an hour. A short performance from a maiko. The onsen was nice and they will sell you tattoo cover up stickers. The front desk had parasols and umbrellas you could borrow for free and bottles of water. They also had a help yourself toiletries shelf which included sunscreen, which was really appreciated. Helpful staff.

The breakfast was pretty basic and got boring very quickly. If you leave ANYTHING on the bed, they won’t change the sheets.

Resol Trinity Kyoto is only two blocks away from the Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae subway Station and Teramachi shopping area that connects to the Nishiki shopping area. It is also a 15-20 minute walk to the Gion neighborhood. We found cabs to be a quick and easy way to get around town as our legs were pretty tired, and we felt the cab fares were very reasonable. The staff were very use to accepting shipped luggage and they kept it in the check in area, but it wasn't taken to our room. The front desk staff were helpful in answering our questions. They do have a public bath which was a nice way to end the evening. The rooms are typical Japan hotel sized and I'll be honest it was quite cramped. We had little room for our carry on sized bags, both to open them and to store them. However, I would say again this was common for what we saw for Japanese hotels, so I would just consider this an normal expectation. The room and hotel was very clean. They breakfast was around 2100 yen and they had Western and Eastern offerings. We would stay here again.

Great location; friendly English speaking staff; rooms are stylish, comfortable and well equipped; onsen available on site;

While I fully understand the Japanese banning tattooed people from public onsens, I do not understand the same rule in a hotel where 95% of guests are foreigners

We loved the ambiance, art, and overall vibe of the property. All of the staff were really accommodating and friendly. The public baths were amazing and much needed after walking all day. There were ample amenities provided like toothbrushes, combs, and face lotion. It was conveniently located in central Kyoto, so we could walk to many shops or take a short train ride/taxi. We appreciated that they had breakfast for purchase as most places in Japan don’t open until at least 10am.

The beds were fairly hard, which we are not used to in the United States. We didn’t sleep very well due to that and the pillows. Also, there were blood stains on our comforter that we noticed the first night, so we had to request another one.

Rooms were tidy and beautifully laid out. I liked the reduced cleaning days in order to reduce impact on environment. I think that the daily towel changing could also be reduced to cleaning days only, perhaps having a system of guests requesting towels between cleaning days whenever required. But keep the daily supplies of tea, coffee and water. Super to have the Onsen. A wonderful breakfast variety. Great to have a laundromat of two different floors. Great to have a microwave on the 6th floor. So useful to borrow the luggage weighing equipment from reception. Overall a very comfortable Japanese Zen style hotel :)

Not having somewhere to sit with other guests/ friends in the hotel. The blue books cafe did not allow us to sit without ordering. This was a contradiction to what the website suggested I felt. This was important because we were staying at the hotel for nearly two weeks. There was nowhere else to sit other than the limited tables (three) in the small courtyard garden, which could get cold and wet when raining.

This hotel is rated as 3 stars but it exceeds that rating by a massive amount. Quiet, clean and beautiful it was excellent. The location is well within walking distance from anything you could wish to see and experience in Kyoto. Nishiki market is just a short distance from the front door and having the river right by meant a leisurely walk in the cool of the summer to Gion was one of the most enjoyable experiences of our stay. Facilities were amazing and had everything you could hope for. Great price and staff were brilliant.
