Basic amenities/toiletries are by the front desk, so you can pick and choose what you need. There is also soap, shampoo, conditioner, and towels aplenty in the bathroom. The room itself is larger than what I expect from Japanese hotels, and it has a big window that lets in lots of natural light; the window also has traditional shoji screen sliding blinds and curtains that can keep the room dark, if desired. The hotel is literally right across the street from Kyoto Station, which has a lot to offer by itself as well as access to the city's subway network, and checkout is quick and easy. The staff is also very kind and understanding, and have good English skills for foreign travelers. The rooms stay pleasantly warm during the winter, even without a heater or air conditioner running.

Being right next to Kyoto Station and a rather busy crosswalk, it can sometimes be a little noisy at night if you're trying to go to bed early. The TV is also a little awkward (but not impossible) to work with and is in a bit of an odd spot, and I did not immediately notice an air conditioning system of any kind (not that I needed one since I stayed during winter); I'm sure there is one in the room, I just don't know where it is.

The location was excellent. Just across the station and with Kyoto tower as landmark, it was easy to find although there are a lot of exits. The staff was helpful and efficient to arrange for us the luggage delivery. We had the quad room which was really spacious. Only shortfall was the shortfall in breakfast coupons given to us. There was even discount rate to Kyoto tower for hotel guests.

Minor interior defect was the protruding door stopper which we banged our feet against a few times. Breakfast range was limited.

Hotel is located just accross the JR station & nerby metro station plus bus station. Great discount on Kyoto Tower enterance fee. Plenty of restaurants and coffee/pastry shops within walking distance. Rooms are a littel tiny as expected, all amenities are supplied and rooms cleaned on request. Amazing Sanjusangendo buddhist temple nearby. Tourist information within Kyoto Tower is really informative.

Location was fantastic to find hotel but also for all the sights, directly opposite Kyoto train station central exit. Lots of buses or trains/metro for access to the attractions. There is a food hall underneath the hotel which was amazing and had lots of Japanese food for us to try as well as lots of restaurants around the area and corner shops. Room was larger than some others in Japan. Comfortable bed. Staff very friendly and helpful

Very convenient location. Near to public transport, cafes, restaurants, pharmacy, convenient stores and more. We had a room with tatami mats and it was spacious for four adults! We like the view of the cross roads, Kyoto station and a glimpse of the mountains. We especially love the toilet which was separated from the bath area. We love the automated toilet seat opening, heated seat, deodorizer. We also like the 'onsen' style bathroom.

We have to go to the reception level to get the coffee and tea. It will be good to let us sample snacks that we can buy from the souvenir shop downstairs. The hotel could tie up with the shop. Our cups in the room were not washed. We forgot to inform that the sink on the left side was choked. Our room is 730.

First time staying in Kyoto and chose to stay in Kyoto Tower Hotel. Booked the large quadraple room which is adequate and comfortable for family of 4. No regrets with my choice of stay eventhough it is on the pricier side. Thank you to all the staffs who makes our stay a pleasant and welcoming one.

Only drawbacks are the high step of the toilet entrance and bathtub for shower access.

Very convenient- near to station and easy access to all public transport

During the booking, I specifically asking and included the breakfast for all the 4 rooms, however during the check in, was told the price and booking via booking.com was excluding the breakfast. We tried to show the booking.com confirmation but was still denied. Hopeful this won’t be happening again next time.

The hotel is very conveniently located across the street from the Kyoto train station and a city bus hub providing easy access to tourist attractions in the city. There was an abundance of restaurants nearby. The breakfast buffet was good. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The room was very small--as the Booking listing notes. The AC is centrally controlled. For me, the room temperature was uncomfortably warm. The hotel provided a fan that made the room more comfortable. There is a significant step up into the bathroom, and getting into the shower/tub requires throwing your leg over the tub. I have a bad knee, and it was a little uncomfortable. All in all, none of these things takes away from a good value and the positive things noted above. I would stay here again.

Big distances, long avenues :) My room was next to the service room. I came back late in the night after walking on the streets. I wanted to sleep and have a rest til 9-10 a.m. But early in the morning it began a noice from the stuff of the hotel going around in the corridor and service room. I can't understand this. From early morning it is a noice and people can't have a rest in the morning and wake up.

I have stayed here several times. The location is fantastic and the staff is very friendly and accommodating - for example I sent my suitcases ahead and they were waiting for me in my room. The rooms are small. I splurged and got a larger room so I could unpack my suitcases on the extra bed. There is a nice deep Japanese tub and the shower was great. The building elevators are confusing so make sure you use the right set and take advantage of the Kyoto Information Center on the third floor - lots of great tips and info and you can book your train tickets there.

I was very sad that the public bath in the basement wasn't open because of COVID but I understand.
