The facilities were fantastic and it was a great location. Comfortable futon beds and Japanese breakfast and we loved the added touch of the free traditional robes to wear at night. We thought the staff were extremely polite, friendly and helpful. We were able to leave our luggage for the day after we had checked out. We loved the public baths and would definitely stay here again. Great value for money.

Good location - about 5 minutes walk from Kyoto Station 🚉. Big room size. The half board dinner is decent and suffice. Welcome drink (with beer and soft drinks) are provided. Very nice Japanese hospitality.

The room furniture and fittings are rather old. The quality of the mattress (on tatami) should be improved.

Super nice people, it helps if you speak Japanese though. I used google-translate app to communicate, but it nothing against the staff - it IS Japan, not USA! :) They were super helpful and super kind to me, very helpful. Just watch out - you need to be back by 12.30am.

wifi kept dropping or being super slow :( that was probably the only negative, otherwise I'm happy.

Wonderful Ryokan, huge and suitable for many people. Air conditioning and other services available. Excellent onsens, including bookable private one. Very kind throughout.

Price was not low, but it was high season.

We wanted to experience traditional Japanese "living" and this place has exceeded all our expectations. From the baths to the amazing breakfast this place was great. We are borrowing few ideas for our own place 🙂

There’s public bathroom on the basement. there’s also kimono and sleepwears to use. And not to forget, it was very near to the kyoto station!

The entrance room is somewhat too narrow for the stroller to enter, so we must pick it up first to close our door

I wanted my family to experience a traditional ryokan. It provided all i hoped for. The staff was very accommodating with all of our needs. Breakfast was delicious.

Food was GREAT! Rooms were very clean. I could not find any dust! A first for my many stays at various riyokans around Japan. Honestly very clean. well done staff!

I think there was a discrepancy between what is written on Booking.com and what is offered. We booked this hotel because booking.com says it has in room meals as part of the ameneties, however, when we got to the hotel they said that was not available on booking.com, but it is available on other websites. I thought that was weird. They said as a compromise we could have our second meal in our room. the breakfast buffet was nice, but other guests were ill and coughing on the trays of open food while not wearing a mask. I did not partake in breakfast after seeing that customer cough without a mask. not exactly the hotel's fault.

Extremely nice property! It was clean, the staff were helpful. The room was quite spacious and had lot of amenities. Highly recommended for everyone :)
