The location was amazing. Easy access to Kyoto Station and the plethora of restaurants around there. Convenience store right next to the hotel. I think there was a way to go directly to it as well. The Dormy inn always has a bath available and it did not disappoint. Going from the hot bath to the cold bath and back felt really great after a long day of visiting various shrines around Kyoto.

The only thing I disliked was the pillows felt like sleeping on rocks. So if you like a little softer pillow make sure to pack your own or bring a collapsible one.

A friend advised us to stay in Dormy Inn saying our family would love it. He was absolutely right! From the minute we walked in, the staff was there to greet us and accommodate our every wish. We were surprised and delighted to receive a paper that listed all the fun things we would find at Dormy Inn including the wonderful hot springs pool, comfortable pajamas to change into, free noodles at 9:30 pm, free ice cream upstairs, and friendly happy travelers. We were overjoyed at the expansive breakfast with every delicacy imaginable! And the coffee was exquisite! One of our favorite memories was sitting in the dining room eating noodles at night with people from all over the world, all of us wearing our comfy Dormy Inn jammies. A thousand thanks for an unforgettable stay!

I absolutely love this hotel—true to its name, "Premier." The location couldn’t be better; it’s just a few minutes' walk from Kyoto Station, making travel incredibly convenient with no need for transfers. Within a 5-minute walk, you’ll find countless shopping centers, restaurants, and bakeries to explore, not to mention Kyoto Tower and all the rich offerings at Kyoto Station. The hotel offers so much, starting with its outstanding onsen—three of them—plus a sauna, providing plenty of relaxation options. There’s also an on-site laundry facility, an ice machine, and thoughtful extras like free ice cream and a free noodle bar at night. Microwaves, ice machines, and hot and cold water are available on various floors, adding to the convenience. The breakfast was exceptional, with a wide variety of choices and well worth the price. The rooms are much more spacious than those in typical Japanese business hotels, and the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. I wish I could have stayed longer and will definitely come again in the future.

This is a much larger hotel with a diverse mix of guests, so it can feel busy at times, though never overwhelming. Occasionally, I could hear traffic noise from the street. However, the pros far outweigh these minor drawbacks.

There is a decent number of washing machines and dryers (3 machines each) inside the ladies' bath area - more machines also inside men's which altogether, is quite a decent number of machines that i don't feel like I am 'fighting' for laundry availability at all. The location of the hotel is really close to Kyoto Station from the Central exit which makes it accessible and convenient for us. Love all the free amenities including nightly ramen & ice cream.

We booked a few rooms as we were travelling in a group. So we could test and feel the beds in the different rooms. Most of the beds were getting a little worn out where the mattress were either a little too soft or not enough proper cushioning. Probably time for a mattress refresh. The rooms were mostly black and brown colour themed which made it a bit dark.

The hotel is located conveniently around 2 streets away from central Kyoto. My room was located on the 9th floor which was the highest floor and the same floor as the onsen, laundry and vending machines - very convenient. There was free bottled water and a nice surprise of a free pudding in the fridge . The washing machines in the laundry was free to use and free laundry liquid is provided. Dryers were paid and were a few 100Y. Highlight was the night ramen and the DIY chirashi rice bowl at breakfast. Please note that a spa tax and accommodation was payable on check in.

The hotel is very close to Kyoto station, which is ideal if, like myself, you are arriving late in the evening. The shared onsen was clean and has several pools to enjoy. The room was clean, well equipped, and the bed was very comfortable. All of the staff were professional and friendly. I was also able to book an extra night in the same room upon my arrival for a very good price.

No complaints to make. The breakfast was great, although I think it was a little pricey, and I slightly preferred one that I had at a similar onsen hotel earlier in my travels (but that one was exceptional). The hotel is a decent walk from the centre of Kyoto (around 30 mins), but you can get there via the subway/buses.

The location was absolutely unbeatable as it took only a few minutes on foot to reach Kyoto Station. The attached 24-hour convenience store is perfect for midnight snacks and drinks. The sauna as well as the variety of baths were very satisfactory. Plus, it was awesome to be able to relax with ice cream and probiotic drinks at the manga corner. The provided pajamas were very comfy.

The yonaki soba noodles are not suitable for vegans, vegetarians, or halal/kosher diets. There should be a warning sign about this point. If some soy sauce is provided and the original soup is not added to the bowl, then the noodles can be consumed by almost everyone.

Location next to Kyoto station. Wonderful hot springs on 9th floor. Free ice cream and free ramen after 9:30pm. Average size room. Mostly all of the staff were kind and helpful.

When I booked the room I asked for a quiet room. I was put into a room on the second floor on the street side over a bus stop. After the third night of poor sleep, I asked for a different quiet room. At first I was asked to pay an additional 1,000 yen per night for the change which I was happy to do. After I returned with my wallet someone who I believe was the manager kindly waived this fee. I asked this same person if I could please have a different pillow since the ones in the room were hard and uncomfortable. He begrudgingly bestowed one to me. I felt as if I had overstepped somehow. Not the best customer service from this one person. Beds were too firm for my arthritic bones.

Kyoto was the second part of my trip to Japan and I decided to pay a bit more for the comfort of having a room for myself (as opposed to the capsule hotels I stayed at in Tokyo) which was a great decision, especially by choosing this hotel. The room was spacious and clean, and the pajamas there were so unbelievably comfortable. A 24-hour Lawson is attached to the hotel, which is very convenient. But the highlight of my stay was the indoor and outdoor onsen on the top floor with a huge sauna (that had a TV in it!) and a cold water pool. Relaxing there after a long day of walking and exploring the city was priceless, especially since I did between 30,000 - 50,000 steps every day. This might be a pricey option for solo travelers, but personally, it was a worthy investment to get a bit more relaxation especially if you love exploring new places on foot.
