Mitsui Garden is really 2min walk from Kyoto station; look for exit A3! I have opted for 3 single bed for my family and the room size is really huge from Japan standard room size. Beds are comfortable and I love the picture used as window screen, which brings a calming effect to the room. The free drinks at night is really a bonus; and what made it better is the cafe has games set to keep us entertained after a day out. There are also 2 diary for guest to pen down their experiences in Kyoto and you can pick up some idea of interest from there too :) As we stayed on level 7, so its easily accessible to the washer and dryer area. Staff is very friendly. We will definitely stay at Mitsui Garden again in our next visit to Kyoto!!!
Everything is great!

Very close to the hotel though not as obvious as I initially thought . Got confused as the are so many Mitsui Gardens in Kyoto - make sure you check you are heading for the right one ! Nice , good sized rooms . Good beds .
Truthfully nothing . Chose purely for proximity to the station ( would not normally pick this as I really don’t like this area as it’s not very attractive ) as actually wanted Osaka but couldn’t get what I wanted for the price so this was a better deal . If it’s your first time in Kyoto I’d go for Higashiyama as it’s calm , scenic and a good base for sightseeing particularly if you like walking . If you just want to be close to the station for easier access for day trips it’s fine otherwise a rather characterless area in a city with lots more appeal .

Proximity to Kyoto station - meters away. Fantastic staff, nothing was too much trouble Helpful when my family member was sick and needed a doctor. Friendly and welcoming always. Excellent English spoken. Delicious breakfast. The cost of this hotel in comparison to others feels like you’ve won the lottery.
The mattress was very hard - I’ve stayed in Japan before - seems to be. Common issue at some hotels. I wasn’t able to get the screen cast function on the tv working - not that I really needed it as I was out most of the day - however simple instructions in English would be appreciated

Upon arrival, I requested for a luggage rack to put my luggage and one of the staff, a lovely girl, kindly acceded to my request and brought said rack to my room - kudos to her for her exceptional service! Room was very quiet and clean; temperature control worked well. Shower water temperature could be controlled very well, and water pressure was good. No problems with clogged sinks or drainage! Staff responded very fast to requests. Hotel location is just a short walk from Kyoto station - very convenient! Room size was ok for 2 people! Guest lounge toilets were very clean!
The shower hose was a bit stiff and kept veering towards the left/right as we showered. It would be better to use a more flexible hose so it doesn't keep moving towards one direction. Pillows were a bit heavy.

Location - right next to the Kyoto station (1 min walk), and surrounded with convenience stores as well as other shopping options. Saved us lot of time in going around Kyoto. I also liked the underground Porta dining (under the Kyoto station) for plenty of eating options - both local and multi-cuisine. Room - bigger than the most, comfortable bed, well equipped bathroom, amazing toiletries, nice PJs and the staff kept it clean and tidy throughout our stay Hotel - first thing you'll notice is calming ambience, calming scents every where in the hotel, laundry facilities, courteous staff
Our room's window had a frosted glass and it wasn't openable, so you can't really see a view. I thought to mention this as someone might have a specific requirement for a view/open window. May be they have other rooms with normal windows, so worth checking with them. Having said that, there was plenty of natural light and the window art also stood out to create a Japanese ambience.

It is a beautiful and elegant hotel close to Kyoto Station, we spent 2 nights there. We had 2 rooms, we asked to have these rooms side by side and we got them - it was really nice. Everything was OK, Everything corresponded to the hotel profile, given hotel style and hotel quality. They had a very nice and helpful staff at the reception. From the hotel it is about 15 minutes by metro to the most of the main city attractions, about 5 minutes to the nearest metro & train station. The breakfast was rich and tasty.
Nearly nothing, we were fully satisfied with the hotel and our stay there. Well, the rooms were a bit small, for European tourists, but in Japan probably standard size...

The breakfast was exquisite, perfectly set in a calming atmosphere with attentive staff and delicious food. The front desk was pleasant, and the room had a perfect atmosphere that evoked an idea of the Edo period. A traditional kyusu pot was provided to serve tea, and a colorful shoji wall covered an otherwise dull view from the window.
The breakfast area is advertised as an afternoon and late-night space for guests to enjoy complimentary beverages (e.g., soda) and snacks (i.e., rice crackers). However, there was no free soda. This did not worsen our stay in any way, but just be aware that what is offered in the space is limited compared to what the front desk may say. I assume this was simply a translation error and believe no ill will on the part of Mitsui Garden's staff.

Large room compared to others hotel. The position is wonderful: 5 min walking distance from all metro/train station so perfect if you need something for sightseening. Just few min walking from kyoto tower . Staff is friendly.
Breakfast has a limited choice if you come from europe, but that s really a minor point,we are in Japan anyway! ;)

Twin room was spacious, clean, and well equipped, with pleasant textural and lighting features. Beds firm but comfortable (and pillow was perfect for me, who likes low profile and doesn't mind plastic beads on one side). There's a downstairs lounge which I didn't visit. Room: almost everything: desk, 2 chairs + table, a real closet with sliding door; luggage bench; tea/coffee station, excellent blackout curtains, bathroom vanity with mixer tap. Staff - warm and friendly; ambience - boutique, calm and hushed. Location: a stone's throw from transport hub of K station, bus depot, and upmarket Isetan department store
my top floor room faced a narrow street that was quiet of traffic noise but looked out onto an ugly building topped with air conditioning condensers - the strong mechanical hum from surrounding buildings meant the barely opening window remained shut, and even then the glazing was insufficient. This is the biggest deal-breaker for me: fresh air and low noise (the pretty sliding screens obscure the ugly aspect but not much can be done about the building being where it is, surrounded by nearby machinery) - hopefully there will be future triple-glazing because I so want to be able to return.

Excellent stay and very conveniently located. Only 3 minutes from Kyoto station east exit so it's very easy to check-in if you're coming by train. It's also easy to move around Kyoto from this hotel as you're near the main train and bus station. The room was spacious and very clean. There was enough room to fully open big luggages so it was very convenient. The bed was comfortable and the room service was very efficient. The hotel strives to reduce waste so you'll have less wasted consummables, which is very good for everyone. There was no window that could be opened but instead a very nice moon decoration. The atmosphere was very nice. No noise at all even located near the train station. At the lobby, a nice map to locate sightseeing spots, and the service was very polite. Would definitly come again next time we're visiting Kyoto!
