The staff were quick to reply to questions, the room was nice and clean. Quiet area with nearby public transport and also possible to walk to the city. Taxi to the apartment was also cheap. We also like that the shower and toilet was separate, and that we could use a washing machine and a microwave. The check in was super easy, and we could store our suitcases there before and after checkin/out.

The room was a bit dusty and the washing machine also left our clothes a bit dusty and with some marks (but maybe we used too much detergent). The room was a bit too small for four people with large suitcases, but we definately made it work and we were out and about most of the time anyway. There was also an annoying noise (not loud) coming from somewhere undecided, so if you're sensitive to that then bring earplugs. All in all we were very happy and would come back :)

Extremely quiet place, very smooth checkin process (you will get access keys to both the hotel and room). Very clean, European style place, good shower, washer and dryer on premise. Soft drinks vending machine on 1st floor. Close to the subway and right next to the bus station. Very private and discreet place, nobody bothered us during the stay.

Laundry operation could be inconvenient if you lack small coins. Limited availability of food options nearby, everything in 10 min walk but nothing in immediate proximity including convenience stores.

Location was great. Ease of booking and check in great. Very roomy and comfortable.

Fridge froze all our fresh food we bought fruits and salad. The fridge does not stop running and freezes everything. Also the door to the toilet does not close properly so was not able to be locked.

It was easy to access from 2 different train stations, taking only about a 10-minute walk or less from each. It was only a few minutes walk from a beautiful shrine and the castle as well as a well stocked grocery store. We found it’s location quite central. We were happily surprised by the washing machine/dryer available for use. I left my AirPods there when we left and was able to communicate easily with the hotel manager to have them mailed to me in Tokyo. They arrived the next day!!!

It was difficult to de-humidify the bathroom and so there was a strange smell in the bathing area. As is usually the case wi the Japanese mattresses, they were extremely firm— this was especially true of the sofa beds that were folded out for my children to sleep on.

Room was spacious, easy access for taxi, quiet and comfy.

They didn’t provide coffee or tea. The refrigerator froze everything we put (bananas, drinks, food…) No blinds, sunrise at 4:30am, so I woke up then and couldn’t sleep more. Bathroom lights are automatic, so can’t control them. We are with a baby and that was a bit annoying

This is a great place to stay in Kyoto: in the heart of a regular neighborhood, not touristy, so you feel part of the city. There are convenience stores, restaurants, and bus stops nearby. Nijo Castle is within a short walk, as is Nijo Station which is an easy connection point to central Kyoto Station as well as train and bus lines going out to areas of interest such as Arashiyama, and is also a good place to catch a taxi and hit a 7-11 ATM to withdraw money from foreign bank accounts. Sanjo shopping arcade is about 15 minutes away and goes on for blocks of quite a variety of small stores. The oldest pond in the city is a few minutes down the street, part of a beautiful and historic shrine. We really enjoyed our time here!

The wifi did get spotty, and the folders of in-room info and local restaurant listings both need to be updated. But the hosts are quite responsive by email and very helpful.

I received clear instructions on entry key codes before arrival. Check-in was smooth. Location is quiet and convenient to access two train stations. The hotel/room provides basic amenities and is clean and efficient. Shower is hot and strong. The separation of toilet from shower and sink is smart. Individual room temperature control worked well. Bed and beddings super comfy. A great value for the money!

I thought we'll have sofa to lounge around but it turned out not (the room on the other side of hallway has). There is only a small desk and chair.

The room was well equipped and clean. Access to a washing machine was really helpful as we stayed for a week. Close to a supermarket and restaurants. The hotel had a list of restaurants nearby (in English and Japanese) which was helpful. The area is lovely and the hotel was responsive. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again
