Might be one of the best rooms we have ever had on a vacation for the price we paid. For sure best we have ever had while staying in a country in Asia. They thought of everything! From slippers so you can leave your shoes at the door; to an amazing private Onsen-like bathroom; to the kitchen complete with good sized fridge, small aplicances, stove and cookware/dishware; and finally the washer/dryer plus everything you need to hang dry clothes in the bathroom which also served as a dryer. It was quiet, safe, in good proximity to transportation, and had literally everything you could need.

The only downside was being a smaller place which is not exactly a true hotel, they could not hold luggage. But aside from that, this place was near perfect for us.

Exceptional staff, location and conditions. The room felt more like a luxury apartment than anything close to a regular old hotel room. The staff was extremely friendly, the receptionist was fluent in multiple languages, including English, and was of great help. The location is a few minutes walking from a major metro line and there are many stores and temples around, it is also very close to Kyoto Station. The area is very quiet and peaceful but easy to get to. If you're staying in Kyoto for a few days this is a great place to stay at.

Beds could be a little softer for my taste, but everything else was top notch, would pick this place in the future.

I like the facility, modern and easy to use. Basically provided everything. Room very clean and bed very comfy. Very quiet neighbourhood. It's quite close to Goji station, however need a bit walk to Kyoto station, like 15 to 20 mins. But on the way to Kyoto station, you can visit temples, see good views and pop in quite lot shops and restaurants, so full of interests.

I don't like the slippers as they seem like leather material which cannot be taken to the bathroom. And they are not comfy to wear, too small for men and very slippery with socks on.

Everything about the room was fine location is good

They don't tell you until after you paid for your booking that you have to go to another hotel to pick up the key and go through a rather long process to check in. So instead of carrying luggage 3 minutes from the metro station, had to walk from the railway station for 8 minutes to check in for about 20 minutes and then go to the real hotel about 8 or 9 more minutes walking. Not really good when you're coming from overseas and tired and have to drag baggage around.

Hsiao, the gentleman at the front desk who checked us in was super accommodating and helpful with answering any question we had about Kyoto and the hotel. The hotel came fully supplied with free toiletries. the room itself was very spacious, with a mini kitchenette and in unit laundry. Our family got confused and ended up going to the Oyado Shinmachi Kyoto and did not realize until we called their customer service line via WhatsApp. they were super understanding and helpful, even sending us the directions to the correct hotel. The location of the hotel was centrally located, near a train station to take you around the city. I would give this hotel 10 out of 5 stars if possible and highly recommend.

Absolutely nothing.

The location is in a quiet place with easy access to subway and bus stations. The room and hotel is compact but very clean. Towels, washing capsules, toiletries and tea/coffee items are readily available near the lobby. My room had a small balcony which allowed me to dry the very little damp clothes from the machine. The washing machine is good with dryer.

- Reception is only available from 2pm till 9pm only - No cafe in the hotel for good coffee - No halal places close by

Cooking facilities, washer/dryer in the room, air filter, self-serve clean towels and toiletries any time, balcony for fresh air/weather watch, close to Gojo bus and subway, convenience stores and small restaurants, easy walk to Nishiki market and a variety of shops plus all that's available at Kyoto station in the other direction

Didn't discover the concealed restaurant right next door till our last evening and they were fully booked tho their menu looked interesting

But what truly sets Oyado Shinmachi Gojo apart is its harmonious balance: A balance between the quietude of its surroundings and its accessibility to Kyoto's heartbeats, a balance between the modern facilities and the traditional charm.

Very new and clean, perfect instructions and great amenities. Staff very friendly. Amazing location. A bit cozy for family of 4. Plenty big for 2 people. Very close to Gojo Station, grocery, convenience stores, restaurants, etc. Bathroom had a slightly bad smell from the drains - had to keep that door closed at all times. Not a deal breaker, but all would be a 10 rating if this gets fixed.

check in is very inconvenience. you have to check in at another property about 500 meters from the apartment, take the keys there and go back to check in
