Everything about the room was fine location is good

They don't tell you until after you paid for your booking that you have to go to another hotel to pick up the key and go through a rather long process to check in. So instead of carrying luggage 3 minutes from the metro station, had to walk from the railway station for 8 minutes to check in for about 20 minutes and then go to the real hotel about 8 or 9 more minutes walking. Not really good when you're coming from overseas and tired and have to drag baggage around.

Hsiao, the gentleman at the front desk who checked us in was super accommodating and helpful with answering any question we had about Kyoto and the hotel. The hotel came fully supplied with free toiletries. the room itself was very spacious, with a mini kitchenette and in unit laundry. Our family got confused and ended up going to the Oyado Shinmachi Kyoto and did not realize until we called their customer service line via WhatsApp. they were super understanding and helpful, even sending us the directions to the correct hotel. The location of the hotel was centrally located, near a train station to take you around the city. I would give this hotel 10 out of 5 stars if possible and highly recommend.

Absolutely nothing.

Cooking facilities, washer/dryer in the room, air filter, self-serve clean towels and toiletries any time, balcony for fresh air/weather watch, close to Gojo bus and subway, convenience stores and small restaurants, easy walk to Nishiki market and a variety of shops plus all that's available at Kyoto station in the other direction

Didn't discover the concealed restaurant right next door till our last evening and they were fully booked tho their menu looked interesting

a very nice apartment. they have all amenities for your comfortable stay, even kitchen and washing machine. furniture is well thought off

check in is very inconvenience. you have to check in at another property about 500 meters from the apartment, take the keys there and go back to check in

But what truly sets Oyado Shinmachi Gojo apart is its harmonious balance: A balance between the quietude of its surroundings and its accessibility to Kyoto's heartbeats, a balance between the modern facilities and the traditional charm.

Very new and clean, perfect instructions and great amenities. Staff very friendly. Amazing location. A bit cozy for family of 4. Plenty big for 2 people. Very close to Gojo Station, grocery, convenience stores, restaurants, etc. Bathroom had a slightly bad smell from the drains - had to keep that door closed at all times. Not a deal breaker, but all would be a 10 rating if this gets fixed.

Initially, I had been wondering about the 31-page PDF with instructions on how to use the room (handling towels, handling garbage, about avoiding noise, etc.) - but I am very much of the opinion that it is very good to know what is expected beforehand, rather than getting a complaint later. And honestly, all of this was mostly common sense and it is almost sad that there are people who need to be told these things. Anyway, I liked it. Also, the communication with the reception was always easy and quick, even before we arrived. We had created quite a few issues (my booking needed to be extended by a day, our luggage got lost on the flight and needed to be received by the hotel, another person sent us a parcel which also needed to be received) and in all of these issues the hotel and its staff were more than friendly and helpful, they really sorted out all these issues prefectly We could stay for one day more, our luggage reached us and so did the parcel. Lastly, I found the location great: in walking distance from Kyoto station, in walking distance from the wonderful Rauk bakery.

The room is not huge for four people, but we knew about that (and were too stingy for two rooms). But I have no complaints at all!!

Spacious, have bathtub to soak yourself after walking exploring the city, equipped pantry, washing and drying machine and iron.

In case it is not being written, it takes about 12-15 minutes from Kyoto station, if walking from Kyoto station during hot day, not suggested. Gojo station is the close one, if carrying luggages then need to get out from exit gate that is having elevator, not the one close to property.

The staff can speak enough English to understand the rules and other information regarding the stay. The place we stayed at is at a nice neighborhood, makes you feel like you're a resident there. It's about 20-30 min to walk to the station and to be at the busy shopping streets.

We stayed in the room of the 1st floor (ground floor), its bathroom smells a bit because the floor drain is always open so you can are able to smell a bit of the sewage. We covered it with a bathroom mat so it lessens the smell. Kitchen has provided all the things you need to cook, especially a rice cooker!

Close to the station. The bath is clean. I like the comforter of this hotel. The road leading to this hotel is tasteful. You can feel the lives of the people who live here.

There was an intercom history and I was able to see the face of the previous guest. It was deleted. I felt like my privacy was not protected. This hotel may be strict about garbage separation. I heard that there is a fine of 3,000 yen for each type of garbage if you fail to sort it.
